Mercure Budapest Korona

Location and Breakfast.

Hotel should install some sort of AC, fan or some sort of an air flow control system other than the Heating System. We stayed in the hotel while the weather was cold and rainy at some nights but the AC only works as a heater during these times. We were sweating and our baby had terrible sleeping. Out of the three nights or so we had a one night of good sleep because it was actually windy outside so we opened the window and ofcourse no heater otherwise it would be very uncomfortable.

Great location on the edge on the city centre so its busy but not hectic, lots to do and see, public transport right on the doorstep give you access to the city at a great price, river is a 10min walk from the hotel. Staff were nice and friendly and spoke good english, rooms were cleaned everyday and we got fresh towels daily. Aircon in the room was a bonus. Definitely coming back as a week wasn't long enough to see and taste everything.

Hotel with stylish day these days is conveniently located near Kalvin square and few minutes walk from Vaci street. Nice surprising touch was a privilege snack (as wasn't expected). Unfortunatelly instead of two days we stayed there just one night instead of pre-paid two nights (daughter has a very high temperature, so we had to leave back home). Well, some voucher for that not-used night of stay would be nice touch, but lets be realistic :)

The hotel was in a central location, right next to a bus, metro as well as tram station, and the national museum was also opposite it. We were upgraded to a privileged room free of charge, and complimentary snacks and drinks were given at the excellent Winestone restaurant attached to the hotel. This will definitely be our first choice of hotels during our next trip to Budapest!

We asked for rooms close to each other and got connecting rooms. The hotel is situated at Calvin square with a metro station and tram and bus stops in a minute's distance. The breakfast hall has enough tables. plenty of coffee machines, milk and juice for the kids. Don't forget to ask for take-away coffee cups on your way out. The best part is public transport to and from the airport (100 E costs 3 Euros pp and literally stops right across the hotel).

The front-desk staff are not friendly at all. No smiles.

All in all everything was good, small room for a junior suite..

I was charged an additional 'privelged snack' on my invoice for which i did not have? unless when i had an omelette for breakfast on the Sunday morning 22nd October and i was charged for this? which i thought would be part of the breakfast?

The location of the hotel was amazing. We actually did not need to use transportation. The front service team was amazing.

I cannot say that I did not like a specific something, I just would like to make an improvement note that the variety of breakfast could be increased , such as adding more cheese types etc...

The location was amazing and the staff was really helpful. If we go to Budapest again, I would definitely consider staying there.

The room was a bit small but it had everything necessary for a short stay as ours.

lovely hotel, beautifully decorated lobby for Christmas. the room itself was clean and modern and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

everything was great with the exception of Roland who worked on the reception desk. he was rude and condescending and gave the impression he was better than everyone else, we felt like he did not want to be there.

poor cleaning services, bad reception service: they charged me twice for the stay: once when took my credit card for security and once when I checked out, they wouldn't listen and now I have to fight with my credit card company
