Comfortable beds, free bottles of water, friendly cleaners, right on the canal about 15minute walk from St Stephen’s Green

Thin walls—could hear some people going by. If it’s raining heavily you’d end up taking taxi/bus to go to the main areas of the city as the walk would be too much then—although it is flat and a straight line.

The staff at this hotel is the star of the place. Every single person we came into contact with - from the most junior to the various managers - were the most courteous and helpful people. If it wasn’t for the staff, we would have moved hotels mid-stay (or on arrival). Despite being at full occupancy, the team gave us three rooms that fulfilled all the requests we made (interconnecting rooms, double beds, stand up shower, distance from elevators etc).

The rooms, though spacious by European standards, had tons of maintenance problems. Our room also had a mishap when checked in, where there was human excrement smears on the bathroom floor. However, every time we complained, the staff mobilized to solve the problem immediately (some of the issues were harder to solve for but again, no effort was spared by the staff).

Location was brilliant. We were going to a nye bash at the silo so right round the corner. Walkable distance into the city too. Bedroom was lovely & big, bed so comfortable & facilities in the room. Christmas trees & decorations were up during our stay that made it extra special. The staff were exceptional; every interaction we had from night staff at front desk, day time staff at front desk, restaurant front of house (lady with red hair - superb host!) & waiting staff, housekeepers, bar staff & the chef! All couldn’t be more friendlier, attentive, genuine, professional lovely people!!!

Bathroom was a tiny bit worn around the edges, that’s my only critic out of the whole stay.

Location near Grand Canal put uswalking distance to cultural sites and shopping. Hotel is clean and well appointed. Second trip on return to Dublin was able to take advantage of hotel parking space, which made it quite efficient and useful to get relatively early flight to airport. Staff seemed to go out of their way to make you feel good. Director of bar was particularly kind when we couldn't get dinner anywhere.

First trip purposefully did not bring car because no guarantee of parking. There was no clothes bureau in room, shower seemed too complicated, could not shut it off. Staff needs to be more effective in knowing the ins and outs of neighborhood; received wrong directions to restaurant late at night and missed dinner on last night

I can’t recommend this highly enough. We stayed for my 30th birthday, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a signature room. I can safely say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. All the little touches are there, including robes, slippers, temp control in the rooms etc. the location was great for us it’s not right in the centre but this makes it a bit quieter away from temple bar but still accessible. Thanks again to all the staff for a great stay. I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends.

There really isn’t much to say for negatives. At times it was a bit noisy but this was just other guests, I’m not sure that there is much to be done about that.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Mespil during my visit to Dublin, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was met with warmth and impeccable service. The Room: The room I stayed in was nothing short of perfection. It felt like I had stepped into a haven of luxury and comfort. The attention to detail in the decor, the plush bedding, and the stunning view from the window made it feel like the best room in the world. Every corner exuded an air of elegance and sophistication, making it truly difficult to leave. Location: Hotel Mespil's location is unbeatable. Situated in the heart of Dublin, it strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility. The serene canal views were a refreshing contrast to the vibrant city life just a stone's throw away. It was easy to explore the city, with many of Dublin's iconic attractions within walking distance. Breakfast: The breakfast experience at Hotel Mespil was a true highlight. The spread was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The variety of options ensured that there was something for everyone, from hearty hot dishes to a delightful selection of pastries and fresh fruits. It set the perfect tone for a day of exploration in Dublin. Service: The staff at Hotel Mespil were exceptional. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality added an extra layer of comfort to my stay. They were always on hand to assist with any queries or requests, going above and beyond to ensure every guest felt valued.

The carpet wasn't to my personal liking. But the room was incredible

It was good all round stay. The hotel staff were helpful in sorting taxis out, advice on getting into town, & local amenities to the hotel. The canal across the road from the hotel was interesting & residential area was nice to see. We had a reasonable walk into central Dublin but you walked through historic areas of town, Georgian houses, lovely architecture you otherwise will not just happen to see. All the taxi journeys we took, the Dublin Taxi driver is something special. Any time of day, these gentlemen are quite serious in knowledge, conversation & amenable to you as a customer, really lovely guys.

The lounge/guest seating area was limited I felt for the rest of the hotel. Just to people-watch, read a paper, see the world go by.

It was clean, contemporary with wonderful, friendly staff. Initially, our allocated room was disappointing considering it was our anniversary but after ringing down to reception we were moved to a room at the front the following day. Bonus- we had 2 boxes of chocs from each room. The staff put a bottle of Prosecco in our room with a lovely card.

The hotel was about a 20min walk from city centre, but that was fine until it rained. Initially, we were in a room overlooking a carpark. I rang reception and they said they were full but they would move us tomorrow, and not only that if we packed up the housekeeping would move it to the new room. So after the disappointment of not liking the first room we were really happy. The curtains in the front of the hotel let in light due to having a corner window and therefore not meeting at the corners. We tried clipping them with one of my hair clips but no use. The light was streaming in when I went to the bathroom at 1am and 3am!

We had great service by the desk and in the Dining room...there was only one evening that we were disappointed that the staff were overwhelmed and kitchen so we could not order dinner because it was a 2 hour wait... we did go out to find a place for dinner. although we were grumpy about not eating in it turned out better than expected and did not have to go far. We were eating later because we had been on a tour. The location made walking to venues easily accessible, the room was comfortable and staff were helpful and informative. Nice location.
