Hotel Paola

First off Marco and Paola were exceptional hosts. I was traveling with my mom and two of her friends, all three are in their 80's. Marco and Paola were so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast was amazing, especially the cappuccino. We enjoyed the fresh breads and pastries, the jams, yogurts and juices. There was a little noise from the street, as the hotel was directly on a well traveled road, but it was not an issue at night as our rooms faced the back of the hotel. Marco was more than helpful with advice or answering any questions we had. The hotel was a short walk to the train station and to the center of town. There were plenty of restaurant and cafe choices in town.

The driveway to the hotel was a bit narrow and required precise maneuvering, but otherwise parking was fine. There was a little noise from the street, as the hotel was directly on a well traveled road.

All marble small boutique hotel full of charm. The hotel is spotless clean as are the rooms and bathroom. Beautiful chandeliers everywhere, decorations are elegant. The breakfast room is lovely and elegant and the breakfast is tasty. The air conditioning in the room worked very well and we had a balcony. There are parking spaces available in the back of the hotel, but the entrance is quite narrow, but doable after two tries. The hotel building is nothing special and the buildings next to it are falling apart and rather ugly. But the hotel is well-situated and you can walk to the center of the town which is very picturesque and has some nice restaurants and shops.

There is no elevator, so you do have to carry your own luggage to the rooms.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Wifi was excellent. The hotel was in a good location for me as it was only a few minutes from the train station. It is also just a short walk from the centre of Altopascio. I was travelling by bicycle but I used the train to visit Pisa and Lucca. Florence and Viareggio would also be very accessible. It's a small but welcoming hotel.

There was nothing I didn't like but I felt that the price quoted for breakfast was expensive but other people may not think so. Also, I'm not sure if there was a lounge area for guests to relax.

Hotel is located in a very busy road. The glazing is good enough to keep the noise out but you can’t open the windows. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful

Air conditioning was not switched on and should have been available as room was too warm and you can’t have the windows open due to Road noise.

Hotel Paola was quiet and had very comfortable, clean rooms. A great location for those on the VF, being on the route through Altopascio. Marco was a superb host and very helpful. His restaurant reccommedations were spot on and he took time to help us with our onward journey. A pleasure to stay here.

Everything is good about this property. friendly staff, English speaking and helpful. room was comfortable, exceptionally clean and cleaned daily, spacious and quiet at night. great location just 5 minutes walk from the station and 10 minutes walk from the centre of town. Breakfast was adequate but get there early!

Very helpful and pleasant manager. Room clean and well appointed. Nice balcony overlooking rear of property.

Beside busy road and near autoroute. We had a room overlooking back which was quiet. Walk to town centre passes under the motorway but the centre is very nice and good restaurant recommended by the owner.

The staff were lovely and offered great advice for the Via Francigena. The room was beautiful, very clean and the air-con was definitely appreciated in the August heat. Additional buffet breakfast was also a big plus, this property really shocked me by how beautiful and comfortable it was.

Good location on the VF close to town and amenities. On a busy road but very quiet from early evening. Nice proprietors. Great to have a new air conditioning system, an efficient fridge and an electric kettle to make tea/coffee. Good quality cotton sheets

Welcoming, very helpful reception staff. All extremely clean, good shower. On the Via Francigena.

It was not a problem for me, but it is a short way out of town. This may not suit everyone; walking back after dark there's a busy road and railway line to cross.
