Albergo Astro

For the type of accommodation it is, this place was perfect for a few nights' stay! Clean, warm, nothing special or luxurious but it was still very good and with a great price for a single room+ensuite bathroom. The location just around the corner from the train station was amazing as I had many day trips planned and also arrived/left with heavy luggage. Would definitely stay again!

There were almost no toiletries, luckily I did bring my own. There were wifi issues - I ended up not having it 2 nights in a row. One of the receptionists didn't speak English, Spanish, or French, I tried it all :D He was really nice, but it was a bit frustrating, especially when I had issues to solve and limited time.

Great location, nice staff and affordable prices! the bed was SO comfortable! The building where the hotel is located was pretty cool too, with a majestic staircase and awesome architecture. Supermarket and restaurants nearby, as well as train and bus station. A great place for a nights rest before travelling elsewhere in Italy.

Noise from the metallic blinds and the placement of the toilet 😂 It’s not so much as a “I didn’t like it”, it’s more of an observation. Had to sit sideways, no room in front of the toilet 😂

amazing hotel with shabby-chique atmosphere. staff was really friendly and helpful. did our laundry for us and explained to us in great detail the little-known good places. we were also taught the local way to have a cappuccino and focaccia breakfast. we had a great time in Genova staying at Albergo Astro. the cozy dog Balu was our personal highlight. quiet during the night and with working airconditioning and fridge.

the room had one too many mirrors and there was a slight smell in the hotel (an amalgam of cold cigarette smoke and cleaner). however, this did not diminuish our stay, and we'd gladly come again.

Great location. In the centre of Genoa with a Mcdonald’s located right around the corner which is convenient. Comfortable bed with air conditioning.

It’s a very old school hotel located at the top of a building which contains other businesses - but we actually enjoyed the character and dated decor! Not a negative for us but an observation. Our only criticism would be that the front door is hollow so we could hear other guests.

Location was excellent very near the Genova Brignole railway station in a beautiful, old building right next to shops e.g. Sephora and Mondatori book shop. There was a funny man in the reception.

First my room wasn't very cosy but I had a chance to get a room with a balcony after the first night and that room was a lot better than the first one even though the price was the same.

Comfortable and sweet older man on desk we had a large language barrier but he was very funny. We are young and foreign and Made me feel comforted when my boyfriend was hospitalised during our trip. AMAZING AIR CONDITIONING for the price

Only complaint is the lack of sound proofing from the corrdior but it is very cheap

The people are very friendly here, especially Antonio, who speaks better English than the rest of the staff, has been very accessible and friendly. The location is also perfect for travellers who love shopping as it is close to the city's best high street.

The room was small and the door to the room was flimsy. On the very last day of my stay, the cleaner forgot to lock the room and I was shocked to see an unlocked door while entering the room. But nothing was stolen/missing so no harm done.

Overall great value for Genoa standards: - Location (super close to the station and the city center) - New furniture in the room - Friendly staff - inside a beautiful historical building

- The room key looked like a standard private home's bedroom key, not really inspiring safety. - in the room there was no safe (i spent only one night and kept all valuables with me at all time so it didn't really matter). - room 2 had a noisy bathroom when discharging water in the bathroom, I would recommend to ask for the other rooms if traveling as a couple or a family.

10 points for the staff. Marco was really friendly. I got an upgrade on the room. Nice rooftop and the view. Nicely decorated with cat elements. The key is old-fashion (warded lock). The building is historical. I didn't find the elevator at first (as the building looked historical), I walked up along the spiral staircase, which was fun (never seen one before from outside the EU). Conveniently located and close to the train station, though I didn't spend much time in Genoa (big mistake).

Shower. Hot water ran out quickly.

Albergo Astro is located in a very interesting building, really nice. The room was very clean, also the bathroom. The members of the staff were charming and kind and the location was great.

We found the mattress not too comfortable but the rest was all great.
