Van der Valk Hotel Arnhem

We stayed here as a small group of motorcyclists while touring the ww2 sites in the area. The hotel is centrally located for all the key locations we wanted to visit and has a huge car park that felt safe / secure. There isn't really any restaurants within walking distance so we ate our evening meal at the hotel and the food was amazing and highly recommended. We didn't opt for breakfast as this was an additional 23 euros. Nice coffee making facilities in the room and the basement bar was also a great place to relax and try some of the local beers.

The room was very spacious, comfortable and equipped with a Nespresso machine. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good. Breakfast has a wide selection. In particular, we had a wonderful dinner experience thanks to Omar's service. He is really efficient and professional!

No refrigerator or bottle water in the room. One of the two coffee machines was out of order at breakfast, making the queue very long.

Breakfast was awesome, big and various. Restaurant was good, the room was ok, bathroom could be bigger, in particular the shower.

Was a pity during our permanence there was a down in the water so we couldn't shower for the entire first day. It was obviously not a fault of the hotel but that a little bit made our experience worse. The Hotel looks anyway amazing!

The price I paid ..I was expecting small and modest and when I got there the place was huge and it had a lift to the room which was also huge ..a great bar and restaurant serving dinners desserts and finger food and extremely friendly and helpful staff ..I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody

Paying different prices for taxis to and from the hotel to the city centre ...nothing at all to do with the hotel itself ..just be wary of taxi drivers in arnhem

Ground floor room had an exit to the car park which was invaluable to get the dogs in and out without going through reception every time. Lovely staff and a great restuarant.

The room had no air conditioning on a hot weekend, we had our own fans but I'm sure reception would have them if we had asked.

The hotel is very accommodating to people traveling with pets. The hotel restaurant and breakfast buffet were very nice as well. It is a great location if you are looking to visit de Hoge Veluwe and surrounding nature.

There was a strong smoke/ cigarette like scent coming from the vent in our room bathroom that was a bit unpleasant.

Breakfast was good, although I was at the Olympic Training Center and due to my changing schedule, the fact that their system made me sign up for mandatory attendance at breakfast cost my money due to being scheduled at work and not able to attend breakfast at the hotel.

Upon arrival at my floor, I was forced to walk down stairs to the hallway that had my room, putting me at a different level from the elevator. I work with a lot of portable photo equipment and it would have been much better not to go up and down stairs every time I left for and returned from work.

Staff went the extra mile.

Cooked breakfast only consisted of eggs, bacon and hash brown. Fully stocked kitchen in Glamour loft is little more than a hob and cupboards. As with many older hotels there are no usb points in the hotel.

Location, quality of facilities, room good, wellness room clean and functional

Asked to pay local taxes on arrival and did so via credit card. The staff then said I still owed 0 20 Euro, requiring me to pay additional cash. This was their error in figuring the local taxes and should have been taken care of by them.

The rooms were really nice and very helpful staff. Having a good breakfast set us up for our travels today. Looking forward to returning Sunday and have booked the same room with a breakfast. Well done and thank you for looking after us
