Basic Braga by Axis

Location is so close to train station- only 2 minutes, but it's quiet at night- we were on 4th floor. Easy to walk in to centre of old town from here, or catch a bus for day trips eg N0.2 bus to Bom Jesus right there. Room was clean, bed comfortable, room is small and basic- just as described, but all you need. Good showers. Breakfast exceeded our expectations- buffet style: choice of cereals, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, 2 yoghurt flavours, juice, coffee, breads/make own toast, pastry selection, cheese/ham slices, big fruit bowl, spreads. Breakfast room quiet 7.30am, but got busy day we went at 8.15am, so had to queue for coffee machine that day, but that was OK. Window opens for fresh air which we like. This is value for money- I would stay here again.

The location is right around the corner from the Train station so just a couple of minutes walk. There is also a tourist information center that you walk past on the way to the Hotel. The buffet style breakfast is very filling and there was no issue with seating since breakfast begins at 7 and runs until 10:30. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was warm with good pressure.

There is a highway next to the hotel that can be loud if you open the window for fresh air, but when closed, the window does a good job of shutting out the noise.

Location, so close to railway station and also most of the attractions. Room was clean.

The restaurant opening hours, does not work well for tourists. Hence we did not eat there. The bathroom was quite small, and there was limited space to.put belongings. Yes, we know it is a budget hotel, but a little more space for storage would have been good.

Brilliant staff... we were early and asked if we could leave our bags, the lovely receptionist checked if there was a room ready and let us check in which was so helpful! Breakfast plentiful and a decent spread. Great location too.

Nothing to dislike, its a basic but clean room that offers great value for an over night stay.

I chose this hotel as I wanted to be close to the station. It is very basic but it was good for one night. The breakfast wasn't special, but the staff were friendly, and I was able to check in early. Just over 5 minutes walk to the old town.

People next door had tv blaring at 6am. I could hear it word-for-word word.

My wife and son stayed there for two weeks while I was on business. They were treated as part of the family. The restaurant is excellent with big and delicious portions. The staff was so friendly and the location was perfect! My son loved watching the trains come and go from the room window.

Leaving this morning, it was like we were leaving home.

I liked that we were right at the train station and only a 5 minute walk from the old town. The hotel boasts a restaurant with good food at a great price; it served lunch and dinner.

the room was too hot for the air conditioning is central-controlled. My room was also facing the highway, which made it a bit too noisy if the windows were kept open.

Right next to the train station. You cannot really hear the trains. Good breakfast (I’ve read some of the reviews & I must confess I was not expecting much) Pleasantly surprised though! Comfortable night sleep. Good value for money. very helpful staff.

very good facilities, brilliant staff, location is perfect by the train station view is great, city is wow ... definably an must go.

no bad point really some restaurants could close bit later ( only because I dinner late ) no bad point for me :)

It was a cozy place with a perfect location and with polite and helpful stuff. Lunch was delicious and for a very reasonable price. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Basic Hotel and would come back when visiting Braga next time.

There was no hair dryer and the breakfast was really poor.
