Azoris Faial Garden – Resort Hotel

Location location ! Beautifully maintained! Staff was beyond helpful. Carlos Rosa Andrea were attentive provided excellent service and were helpful in giving advice to local restaurants cafes and during are stay were so kind to ourselves and other people who stayed at this location.

The hills and stairs needed to get back to hotel at end of night but if cab was taken the back entrance to get to hotel was required as cab left us at front of hotel

You come to this hotel for the pool and the location! It's clearly a hotel with some history, and while it could use some updates here and there...it's overall a quite nice stay. It was a perfect place to swim with views of Pico mountain and feels secluded from town, but is actually only steps away. Very walkable for Horta itself. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable as well, breakfast was ample and fresh, parking included.

Wifi was a bit hit or miss from our room

• The amenities are great with a lovely outdoor poor, indoor pool and gym and the view of Pico is amazing • The rooms are spacious with a large bed • We had the buffet dinner one evening and there was a good variety.. some of the food was quite overdone but this could be as a result of sitting in the baymarie. All of our party got something they liked so we were happy. However, we had drinks with the meal and for the overall price I didn't feel it was worth it. • The breakfast was decent with a good variety of breads, fruit, yogurts, pastries and some hot food • The staff are very friendly and helpful

The bathrooms are quite old fashioned and could do with a revamp. The bed is rock hard. The plugs alongside the beds don't work. The air con seems quite old and as a result I didn't think was very effective. Our room was situated on the ground floor right beside the entrance and as a result we could hear the main door into the block banging every few minutes from early morning.

No response to my preferences for details on room requests. So we never knew what we were going to have, or if it would work for us. We were put in a dark small room, but staff made every effort to make it better, and did move us to a much better room. Breakfast room gets too crowded, so you need another coffee machine. Breakfast food is cold, need more sterno cans to keep the big dishes warm. A very simple solution. I manage a hotel in central Mexico, so I look for details. Good breakfast selection. Amazing attentive staff team.

Both the room and the private terrace were very, very spacious. The breakfast was excellent: diverse and of good quality. The location was very central (with the stairs from the hotel leading almost directly to the famous Peter's Cafe and the wonderful marina). There was a large swimming pool with a nice view available. Check out at 12 pm was very convenient.

The facilities were a bit worn and "old style", although it depends on personal preference. I thought having a kettle or a coffee machine in the room would be nice. The bust driver (not the hotel's employee) complained about the narrow road leading to the hotel and almost refused to take me there. Thus, I suspect the access to the hotel may be a bit complicated.

Views absolutely stunning, staff very friendly, rooms comfortable and breakfast delicious!

Can’t really understand the negative reviews to be honest - the hotel is in a fairly traditional style and that’s in keeping with the island. The gym wasn’t as well equipped as it might have been, and had no air con, but when there are so many nice outdoor things to do, I didn’t really end up using it anyhow!

This is a great property up on a hill near everything in Horta. I had a spacious room on the second floor with a lovely balcony and view of the harbor. I was going to pay 40 euros for a sea view of Pico island but I'm glad I didn't. It was overcast and Pico wasn't visible at all during the three days I stayed. The hotel grounds are spacious and parking was free. The location is amazing. Breakfast was included and I loved the selection of food. The hotel staff were nice.

My only complaint is that the hotel is in dire need of being upgraded. There's nothing wrong with it but it's very dated and takes you back to the 1980s.

Really nice resort hotel. We were located in a villa with 10 rooms only resulting in a silent location. The room is spacious with all necessary included, from the fridge, a sef up to the usb plugs for fast charging your mobile phone. The room was somehow "used" and not well maintained but really clean. I saw several better 4-star hotels, therefore I would rate this one with 3-stars. However, the hotel has really friendly and helpful staff and offers definitely a 4-star tasty breakfast. To recommend as a good starting point for a short stay on Faial.

In our room, the heating worked not properly but when asking we got immediately special heating device to fix the problem. Otherwise, no complaints.

The hotel is located right next to the sea, on a beautiful rock cliff, with a view of the Atlantic from the rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel also has a restaurant with wonderful food that must be tasted. There are enough parking spaces in front of and around the hotel. You can walk to the city center on foot.

Wi-fi is unavailable in some places or the signal is poor. Due to the bad weather, we could not use the wonderful swimming pool next to the hotel.

The hotel is a resort composed of a main building and small buildings. We stayed in the main building, our room was good, with a small balcony. The location is perfect, it is on a small hill right on top of Horta main street, you can easily walk down and in 2 minutes you are on the main street. The swimming pool and the restaurant have an amazing view over Pico island and the volcano. We had dinner in the restaurant with that view, but also the food was really good. Definitely recommended to have dinner there.
