Hotel Alameda Palace

The hotel is perfectly located, just across from some popular shopping streets, about a 5 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor. It is an old style hotel that certainly retains its elegance. The staff, the foyer, the rooms all look the part. The rooms were large, clean, stylish and well equipped. When I booked the hotel, I thought that, given the price, there must be a catch. If there is, I missed it. This hotel is one of the best value for money bookings I have come across. When I return to Salamanca, this is the first hotel I will look for.

The only negative was the roof pool terrace being closed during the day (it opens at 8pm for dinner). It would have been a nice option to sit out there with a coffee reading a book or admiring the view.

Very conveniently located, easy access to the old town. The staff were very friendly good reception experience and a man to park your car in the underground parking area. The room was large and elegant, beautiful bathroom with a large bathtub and a massaging shower, Brilliant!! The hotel overall was an elegant old lady, clean in good condition but needs a little TLC. We enjoyed our short stay and will be returning for a longer stay next time.

The bar and lounge on the rooftop terrace was not open during the day , not until 8pm There was nothing else to dislike.

Great location easy to park the motorbike and safe underground. Friendly and helpful staff and welcoming. Room was lovely and in particular the bathroom. Plenty of plug points. Nice to be able to have a coffee or glass of wine any time. great choice of breakfast.

It shows on booking.com that they have a swimming pool. When I asked when we stayed there late may. Hot day sunshine it was not available as it was a private function. Also I asked when it was available the reception said it available when the weather is only good. Basically don't get to excited about the pool it most likely won't be available when you think it is.

Opulently appointed hotel. Excellent staff, particularly the porter whose name I regretfully did not take. He moved the hotel’s van to allow me to park my overheight vehicle in their garage, translated the room service menu for me and promptly brought my food to my room. It was presented very well, tasted great and was excellent value. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower.

If you are travelling to Salamanca to be surrounded by the honey coloured stone of the old city, you may like to know this hotel is in a more modern though vibrant part of the city.

Hotel: Location is great. Easy to find by car (parking available) and 10 minutes walk from the city center. The hotel is well maintained and has a classic look which is up your taste or not. We liked it. The rooftop terrace: was small but nice on the outside, inside was a not so cosy big room with a lack of atmosphere. Don't know if it was used or not, as mentioned before there is a lack on information. Room: Was of good size, clean and the bed is great. TV, although we didn't watch TV, is to small for a 5star hotel. Doesn't feel luxury! We had the room for the disabled (don't know why). Meaning the bidet and bath was taken out and we had only one washbasin. Breakfast: Took breakfast outside But all with all nice Hotel, great location but it felt like the hotel was only partly operational. But I must say we paid a very friendly rate for a 5star hotel!

Staff was not particularly friendly, no warm welcome, no information about services like breakfast etc., more distant and correct. We felt that they could have provide us with some more information like where can we find the breakfast room, the restaurant etc. Bathroom: There was a lack on space to put stuf like perfume, toothpaste and so on. The shower was way too small. Gave me a feeling to shower in a cheap IBIS hotel or similar. Housekeeping took our towels,. which wasn't necessary, but forgot to replace them with new ones (so for the shampoo) which is a little sloppy for a 5star hotel.

The hotel is decorated in a classic style and is beautiful. The rooms were very spacious same as the bathroom. The room decoration was classy and reminded me 60's movies of luxury hotels. We really enjoyed the stay here and would recommend it by all means.

Everything was great. Breakfast was also very good but probably with the high level of facilities, I expected a more refine breakfast. We appreciate the parking availability but it is not easy to park in it, and not recommended for big cars.

Historic, elegant hotel on the edge of the old town. Spacious lobby with high ceilings. Comfortable, nicely appointed room. Perfect location for a visit to Salamanca. Convenient parking (15E) in the building. Salamanca is a wonderful town to visit. Home to the oldest university in Spain. Youthful, collegiate and family vibe, clean, safe, with an excellent food scene. The staff all speak English and are very helpful. Beautiful rooftop restaurant with an outdoor terrace and great view of the old town. We did not eat there but the menu looked good and reasonably priced.

Nothing. We did not include breakfast because we preferred to save our calories for dinner. A gym or even modest spa facility would make this place a 10.

This was a 5 start property through and through. From the wonderful staff, to the magnificent room to incredible facilities and amenities. I’ve traveled the world over the last 40 years and this may have been one of the best hotels for the price I’ve ever stayed in. We were regrettably there for only one day/night and didn’t want to leave. We will be back. Wish air had more photos to share but so took videos instead and can’t upload.

Absolutely nothing.

The elegant old school lobby with beautiful classic furniture, lighting and elegant check in counter. It was such a fun location just a short walk to the shops and sites downtown. Easy and courteous valet boy. Elegant restaurant on rooftop with a most welcome slow Spanish style service and food options. I almost didn't book this hotel because the hotel was inexpensive but it is truly a gem.

The swimming pool is too small and has no protection from the sun.

The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are lovely. We didn't use the hotel amenities as we were only there for one night. The location of the hotel is perfect and just across there is a small park and water jets in the ground where the younger children can play.

The view from our room wasn't great but would only have been an issue for me if we were staying for longer. I wasn't aware that there was a fee for the hotel carpark but again, not a major issue.
