Balcón de Córdoba

We absolutely fell in love with this beautiful hotel during our three night stay in Córdoba. It struck the perfect balance between staying true to its roots as a historic property and radiating a chic and modern vibe. All of the elements were just perfect, including our expansive and very comfortable room (#4), the lovely breakfasts served in the gorgeous courtyard, the friendly and helpful staff, and the perfect location, just steps from the Mosque-Cathedral. It was truly one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in and enhanced our visit to this lovely Spanish city.

We booked this at this little hotel as a treat, and what a treat it was. It is a beautifully restored old building with a limited number of rooms. It feels exclusive and upmarket and you enter the hotel through a lovely little courtyard which reveals itself only as you get to the main entrance to the building. It feels like entering a small private garden. It is about 100m away from the Mezquita and the restaurant on the roof has wonderful views over the mosque cathedral. Breakfast was good if a bit pricey. This is a lovely little hotel which deserves a visit.

Brilliantly well run boutique size hotel in historical city of Cordoba a moments walk from the Cathedral. Fabulous team, amazing rooftop views lovely breakfast and very comfortable bed. Several lovely toiletries of great quality readily replenished, fruit and complimentary water with an additional welcome drink. Great room though the two armchairs were a little less than perfectly comfortable. Dinner on the rooftop was lovely though it was a bit breezy but the lovely guest throws were a superb touch. All round a great place to stay if you want the historic old city and a boutique high quality hotel with lovely service.

Could do with some comfy armchairs, or club chairs, only minor point as we would have spent more time having pre dinner or after dinner drinks if there were more relaxing places to sit

The Balcon de Cordoba Hotel was perfectly located within the the heart of historical Cordoba. In fact the courtyard gate of the hotel opened into one of the most famous and picturesque narrow alleys. We had a standard double room which was compact but in tune with the history of the building, which was a former convent. The room had a comfortable bed and a good armchair. There was an excellent restaurant with additional seating in a charming courtyard. Meals and drinks were also served on the rooftop balcony which had outstanding views of the nearby Mosque and Cathedral. Breakfast was served both in the restaurant and on the rooftop balcony. The hotel and rooms were tastefully decorated with period features. Indeed many interesting archaeological objects recovered during the renovation of the site were on display. Our welcome was outstanding. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic, competent and efficient. This was a superb hotel and a delight to be in. We would definitely stay there again.

This is a small but high class hotel with clearly dedicated staff. I was travelling by train so I can't comment on car parking. However the narrow streets of the historical Cordoba may be a challenge for drivers. Certainly taxi drivers tended to drop us off at the entrance to the street, but it was only a short easy walk to the hotel.

There was confusion when we first arrived and we were put into a smaller room than we had booked. We unpacked but we were then taken to the new room where we unpacked again only to find the aircon didn’t work ( it was 45 degrees that day ) so we had to repack and move back to the first room ! All worked well after that though .

Beautiful hotel with the most delightful, peaceful oasis of a courtyard. Our bedroom was gorgeous and presented so well. Loads of goodies: welcome drink, fresh fruit in the room, as well as biscuits & chocolates to accompany tea & coffee. Lovely and responsive service. Incredible and generous breakfast!!

A map of the local 24 hour parking locations with some easy routes drawn on would be super helpful. Our bed was a bit too firm for our liking but the staff sorted us out with lots of extra pillows and a mattress topper for our second night. Thank you.

gorgeous renovation with modern facilities and clean rooms - delightful historical and art details throughout made it fun to explore the property. back door opens right into a little plaza and alley of flowers - patios were beautiful - terrace was amazing - insider tip is to book the little rooftop restaurant ahead of time for best sunset views

venting in the bathrooms was not effective so there was a strong musty odor that we found in other old buildings - a little unpleasant

Exceptional breakfast. Charming former cloistered convent turned into small boutique hotel. Attentive staff.

We would definitely stay there again: however, It's In a little tiny tiny street, the taxi driver did not want to go in, so we had to drag our suitcases a few feet to arrive at the hotel. However the taxi that picked us up at the end of our stay did come all the way into the little tiny street, So just make sure the taxi is willingTo take you right to the hotel.

The hotel is very charming and well laid out. Location is perfect for strolling the streets of Cordoba. We got a super good introduction upon arrival and the roof top restaurant is amazing even it is quite cold now even with the heaters under the table. The roof top restaurant is NOT a Michelin star but it is good. If you want to try that go to Choco - that place is a real GEM and price is very reasonable.

From our room (no 2) we could hear everything said and done in the reception area. The windows in room 2 is actually to the inside room of the building and it was not at all what we had expected. The door to the streets from the little garden behind our room was broken, otherwise it would have been perfect to leave and enter through that. We did see someone having eggs at breakfast but we where not offered anything else then what was on display so guess we should have asked but that could have done better.

Hotel was amazing! Such a great little find, right in the middle of this historic town. The room was great, air con worked very well. The breakfast was fantastic and they really looked after me with my gluten intolerance. We had dinner in their restaurant on our last night and it was amazing, the food, the view on the balcony and the service. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Just our preference, but the bed was a bit firm for us.
