Hotel Mezquita

Excellent location opposite the Mezquita and close to the sights and restaurants of Cordoba. Very comfortable room, decorated in a traditional style. Very friendly staff. Extensive and fresh breakfast buffet.

The hotel is gorgeous in a maximalist, eclectic, 15th century Andalucian sort of way. The staff at present are superb in every aspect of guest service and care; and they are just really nice folks. The place is very clean and never once did a housekeeper knock on my door and ask if they could clean now or if I wanted my room cleaned. They seemed to observe and they made an effort to clean when folks went out for a while. The view form my room was breath taking . I was literally maybe 20 or 30 feet away from the facade of the Mezquita mosque-cathedral wall. It was like I was looking at a framed painting of the exquisit stone marquetry that embellishes the wall.

The breakfast is nothing special, however, the ladies who maintain it are lovely, un obtrusive, and on top of things. The food though is lack luster as most of it is pre packaged. There is a decent assortment of Spanish ham and chorizo and cheese so you can dress your tostada up pretty well.

It’s the absolute perfect place to stay! It’s steps from the Mezquita and bridge, nestled in old town. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Very clean room and bathroom. Some toiletries and hair dryer available if needed. Lots of towels. I have to shake my head in wonder when I think of one of the reviews I read. It read described the hotel as “dated.” My reply: “Who cares?!” The place is very, very clean, dated or not. I did not take advantage of the breakfast, so can’t speak to that. And - totally nothing to do with the room but the main floor and hallways is full of antiques, which I rather enjoyed! Do not hesitate to stay here.

THERE IS AIR CONDITIONING!!!! I can’t tell you what a pleasant surprise it was to have air conditioning, especially when it was 95 and 98 degrees the days that I was there. Additionally, the location can’t be beat (right across from one of the entrances to the Mezquita and walking distance to pretty much everywhere), and the hotel is incredible value for money. The hotel is quirky and rooms certainly could use an update (room was very clean however) but these are minor when compared with all of the major perks noted above.

The location of this hotel is amazing, right across the street from the cathedral and next to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is lovely and more quaint than more modern hotels. A/C worked well. Nice to have a hotel room that can fit 4 people.

There is a lack of available electrical outlets in room, only 1 in the bedroom for 4 people. There is no elevator, not an issue for us, but could be for some people. Room was a little cramped for 4 people, but then we weren't in it very long with so much to see outside. I don't recommend driving to this hotel during a busy time of day. First of all you need to get someone to lower a barrier so that you can drive in, and we got stuck with unhappy drivers behind us not knowing how to get the gate open. Luckily a local person helped call the hotel for them to lower the electric gate/pole. Then we had to drive our car through a mass of people. Would have rather parked and carried our luggage to hotel. Which is what we did when we checked out.

Directly beside the biggest draw in town! You're right the oldest part of Cordoba and can literally feel the history. Its an eclectic mix tourists with a wide variety of cafes and shops, but be sure to get out and see how the rest of the City lives. Grab a cafecito and pan con tomate y asiete and people watch. Get over to the Casa de Sefarad and learn about the strong Sephardic contributions to the City. Cordoba is a jewel and the hotel is the perfect place to start your wander.

The typical over-priced everything in the area is a bit annoying, but you're a captive audience. Also they "roll up the sidewalks" super early, so if you're a night owl, you need to get out of the old town to find anything interesting.

I had visited this same hotel twice previous to this trip and chose to return when visiting Cordoba this April. The hotel is in a perfect location right across from the Mesquita and the 'old quarter' of the city with lots of restaurants. tapas bars, cultural sites and shops nearby and within easy walking distance. The staff has been consistently friendly and efficient and I have appreciated the variety and quality of the breakfast options. After these three visits I would certainly choose to return there on my next visit to Cordoba.

The location couldn't be better, right next to the entrance of the great mosque of Cordoba. The hotel is set in an elegant vintage building dating back to the 17th century, as the reception girl informed me. Exceptionally grand decor inside.

The breakfast cost was an extra10 euro per person (the highest that I paid in any hotel on the trip) and was quite ordinary. But considering the reasonable hotel price (I booked a couple of months in advance), it is only a minor aspect

The location is great. The Mezquita is just across the street, the Roman bridge is behind the corner. After I made it to the hotel from the train station (20 min. walk), I was walking around without even a bottle of water, because from anywhere in the old town I could get to my room within 15 minutes. The common areas are full of interesting antique furniture and paintings. My window was facing the Mezquita, nice view. The bathtub was a plus.

The breakfast is OK, but since you have to make an conscious decision every morning whether you want to pay 10 euros for it, you will probably look for other options after day one. My room was pretty tiny, but in the end just fine for one person.

Great location- right opposite the Mezquite entrance. Park your car and take a taxi ( or walk)to get to the hotel.
