Melia Castilla

We were upgraded to a better room without asking or being a regular client. This has been a very good marketing approach. The room was spacious, newly renovated with a fantastic huge comfortable bed. Bathrobes and slippers were available and towels not only daily changed but of very good thick quality. Breakfast was copious and good. Located a bit outside Madrid center but in a safe area with many restaurants around.

The cleaning was done daily but not spotless or precise. Coffee or water was not daily refilled.

The staff and management

They are not good on handling the hotel payments because for me I have pick problems which they double charges me then with complain the fix but they charge me full amount when I inter and also they hold 1555€ as deposit while I pay full amount in the check in to hotel and until today they didn’t solve my problem

Bonus when we received an upgraded room & given access prior to regular checkin time. All staff were eager to provide excellent service with English easily understood.

Located in business district. Previously we have stayed in the old town which is closer to our main items of interest. Metro was not far but it was still a distance to travel to areas of historical significance.

Great location with easy access to all transportation,checking start at 3pm my flight ✈ arrived at 8:40am they where able to check us in the front desk staff were amazing they helped us to book our reservation for Barcelona to avoid the hassle at the metro,breakfast buffet amazing pool& bar also the room&bathroom were spacious, on OUR second day after getting of the road there were no hot water on OUR side so they move us to another room which was super harsome, MARIA AGUILAR GUEST EXPERIENCE MANAGER WHERE SO AMAZING OFFER US TO ENJOY THE REST OF OUR STAY AT the presidential suite to eat 🍾🍷 melia castilla is a great hotel 🏨 to stay while in Spain 🇪🇸 will book again.

The room was superb, with everything I could possible require in it. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and smart, I definitely would stay there again.

The only minor criticism was that after I had eaten a meal provided by room service, I phone down to have the tray with the empty plates etc collected, and the man who answered the phone seemed annoyed and said just leave outside the door. So I left it outside the door as advised. The following morning, it was still there, so I was a bit disappointed that dirty plates & glass etc had been left there on the floor outside my door all night.

The property had many amenities. It was super clean, the employees were nice, and the area was safe and not far away from everything, yet relatively quiet.

While this is an issue that can’t really be fixed do to space, I don’t think there are enough lounge chairs by the pool. I often went outside and was waiting for one and there weren’t many people outside - there’s just not many chairs. Its ok though because it gets pretty hot and people don’t usually stay outside for longer than 2-3 hours or so.

The property itself is amazing. love the swimming pool, and the rooms are spacious with comfortable bed and big bathtub with free toiletries(Rituals Shampoo and Shower Gel so you better use them;) )friendly and helpful staff who are willing to assist you. Specially Shoutout to Monica from The Level desk who is very welcoming and accomodating. Plus the free snacks and drinks from The Level VIP Lounge are the best! We’ll definitely comeback!

I liked the fact we were upgraded to the level and that you could go downstairs and enjoy some lovely snacks and drinks during the day. The room was very big and a super confortable bed. The staff very friendly. We loved it and would definitely come back when we travel to Madrid.

Room was large and well appointed. Location was good. Staff were friendly

Bathroom smelled like fish. They would air it out but it would smell again.Not sure why where it was coming from. I could have switched room but didn't want to mess with it.

The room was stunning, and the added extras throughout the hotel was wonderful. Everything was clean, and of a very high standard throughout.

The pool was closed, this was not communicated at the point of booking and payment, and was one of the main reasons we chose that hotel! There was also no hair dryer in the room.
