Mena Plaza

There is much noise caused by renovations on the property next to and underneath the hotel. There is much noise from drilling, banging and hammering from 9am up until as late as 9pm and we were immediately above this, I complained 3 times but was met with it’s the council we can’t do anything. We should have been informed prior to arriving and may be could have changed our plans. Eventually I asked for a move to a room higher up and further from the work, we moved on day 5 of a 10 day stay.

Very central to all restaurants cafe's, bar's. 1 minute walk to the church where we had a wedding to attend, and the balcon de Eurpoe. Breakfast at hotel was basic but perfect, rooms cleaned everyday. Bar downstairs top class service and v reasonable priced drinks with outside seating . Would recommended this hotel for a basic stay, nothing fancy but perfect for a long weekend.

The hotel is in a convenient location in Nerja, all local amenities are a quick walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful. No problems with language. The attached cafe has good food and drink options. The rooms were cleaned daily and had good facilities with everything working. Good WiFi coverage throughout the hotel. Rooftop pool was small but there was enough room for everyone. I thought the accommodation was good value for the price and would certainly stay again if or when we come back to Nerja.

I honestly can't think of anything negative. The hotel is well managed with good attentive staff. Keep it up!

Fantastic facilities - the room was lovely and cleaned daily and the pool & rooftop area was great. The location is excellent and 2 min walk from the Balcon de Europa making it very central. We got the bus from Malaga and it was only 15 min walk to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage for an extra hour after check out.

There is no soundproofing between the rooms and the hall so doors closing/people talking can be heard. This can be disruptive at night/early morning if you are a light sleeper.

Great value for money in a wonderful location. Rooms are well appointed for the money and the beds very comfortable. Excellent air con system. Roof top terrace and pool perfect for relaxing. Nice bar downstairs. Excellent airport transfer service at a good price. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our room had a balcony with a little clothes rack which we used for drying swimsuits and towels after the beach.

Soundproofing could be a little better, we could hear the lift from our room. Didn't impact on our enjoyment of staying in the hotel though.

The Location is excellent. The breakfasts were varied and good. The staff were lovely.

The beds are very hard, which are ok if you like a very firm mattress. The wash basin and bidet stoppers didn’t have rubber seals so couldn’t push them down to hold water. I found the shower head difficult to adjust, it seemed to spray everywhere, I flooded the floor many times. Unfortunately building work started on the adjoining property, this was nothing to do with the hotel, but the noise started at 8am and was disturbing.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Mena Plaza. It felt like much more than a 2 star hotel. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent. The rooms are a perfect size for a short break. The pillows were really decent and the towels were really thick and soft. Every staff member we encountered were so courteous. The fridge in the room was great to have. The rooftop pool area is small but we had no trouble getting a bed. The hotel is well located, just a short walk to the Balcon and to lots of nice restaurants and bars. All in all great value for money. We’ll be back soon!

Location was fantastic literally 2 mins from everywhere. Hotel was very clean also.

Hotel was really noisy from early in morning. It wasn't all the hotels fault as the supermarket underneath was being worked on however there was a lot of other noise from guests and cleaners. We had also requested a double bed and got a twin. We knew this might happen however some of our party who booked after us got a double bed. That said the positives definitely outweigh the negatives with this hotel

Great location! Comfortable bed! Rooftop pool, comfy sun beds, a lovely spot! Nice outside area for drinks and food! Arrived at about 5pm Monday 27th March, the receptionist on duty is a fantastic asset to the hotel so friendly and helpful!

Although the breakfast was pretty good overall, something for everyone, lovely fresh fruit, there was a lack of organisation. Maybe they need 2 staff in that area! The tables weren’t being cleared quick enough and sometimes they ran out of certain items!

Everything !! Excellent location , tucked behind the Balcon de Europe in a beautiful square. The hotel is very comfortable, immaculately clean, the staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional , set us up for the day. We went when the weather was a little cooler but the roof terrace was beautiful , with 360 degree panoramic views if the hills and sea. Great swimming pool on top and jacuzzi. Rooms were cleaned every day. The hotel is right near the front in the middle of all the quaint little streets. Santander bank was across the plaza. We didn't need anything else. Highly recommended this hotel. Thank you for our stay.
