Hotel Carlos V

The hotel is located very close to the city centre but also quiet during the nights. The hotel has all the facilities you may expect from a 4-star hotel (despite is is rated only 3-stars). Very clean, elevator, roof terrace with magnificant views, elevators, heating, noise insultation. Staff proff. Excellent breakfast buffet. We parked our rental car free at Parking Safont and walked the 400 meters to the chain of escalators leading to the corner of Plaza Zocodover and from there 300 meters to the hotel. Avoid to enter Toledo with a car.

Ideal location, very clean, good size room and bathroom, quiet and lovely views (dual aspect french doors) It was my husband's birthday and a birthday card and box of chocolates were in the room. There were vending machines in the lobby for bottles of water, coffees and snacks, very welcome when arriving late. Another plus was the rooftop bar with fantastic views. We absolutely loved this hotel, it was beautiful and really made our stay in Toledo. The reception staff were so nice and couldn't have been more helpful. It's only 3 stars but with 5 star service at a very reasonable price.

Nothing! We tried to find a downside but couldn't.

It’s in a great location, rooftop views were beautiful, staff was nice & we really enjoyed our time. It’s right around the corner from Plaza Zocodover which is the heart of the walking tour starts, Christmas market & many tours. Room was decently sized but we spent most of our time touring so it didn’t bother us at all. Heater is super strong; it was raining a lot so it kept us warm coming back to the room!

Our room was on the first floor, facing the street so you could hear some conversations come through the wall/closed window. It wasn’t horrible as the street is mainly quiet at night but would ask for a higher-floor room if you’re sensitive in the morning to sounds.

Right in the heart of the old city, just minutes from everything. Fantastic location. Rooftop bar gave great views of city. Room clean, comfortable with great shower. Breakfast was the best we have had both for choice and quality. The breakfast room itself was quite something. The staff were excellent helping with parking and making us feel welcome at breakfast. The only downside is access and the parking issue but instructions given when booking and by reception very helpful. If staying for longer may have parked outside city and got taxi in. Would recommend this hotel.

Great location. Efficient and friendly reception; I was offered good suggestions on places to eat. Room was well updated, with a good bathroom; and it had a great view! Good wifi, powerful air conditioning; this was the first place I'd seen a feature that shuts off the AC if you open the window. Good breakfast in a specious basement-level restaurant, but the gem of the place is its rooftop bar and restaurant, with a magnificent view of the Alcazar and other landmarks of Toledo.

Minor quibbles. Room was a bit small and crowded. Instead of a full complement of toiletries, there was just liquid soap in the shower, and it was lousy as a shampoo, with no conditioner to help out.

Staff were very professional and attentive, special thanks to Raquel from reception who was so sweet, kind and gave my wife and I good dining options as well as Juana, not sure whether or not this is her name, from the rooftop bar. She was always working and would take our order without delay. We were impressed with the rooftop bar which had awesome views of the cathedral and the surrounding areas. The food served there was delicious and the hot dog of carcamusas was fabulous. As far as the cleaning goes, our room would be cleaned daily, the toilet was spotless all the way and we were happy with our room choice. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and we will definitely return.

Nothing, we liked everything, actually.

Lovely setting within the castle walls. Need to spend more than a day there to appreciate the surroundings. Public parking was around the corner and the hotel gives you a discount card, so it only costs about €15 for the day. If they call a taxi for you, they say 10 min. It's always 2 min. If you arrive late at night, the door will be closed. Ring the bell and they will open it immediately.

Excellent location, value for money, great price, clean and tidy.

Mandatory to have a trolley for the suitcases, not all clients travel short-term, nor do they carry just a small carry-on. Get a trolley and make it easy for clients! This is client value. Also, rooms are very small, no way two people can fit two luggage in the double room. But this is not a big drawback, given the good price, the value for money, and the location. The trolley is a must though! Also, avoid the rooms facing huge construction right across the hotel, cause there is too much noise!

Everything was great...location and appeal of hotel, staff was friendly and accomodating. Shower was fantastic..best I've experienced in a very long time.

TV was much too small (tiny) and channel selection was dismal and scarce. But this was the only minus..everything else was great. I haven't encountered one comfortable bed in Spain, so although bed was uncomfortable for me, it was relatively same as the rest among 10 hotels (unfortunately). Americans like our beds very comfortable!

Very good hotel in a great location right in the heart of the city. Excellent staff and a simply furnished room with good aircon and comfy bed. Hotel has a good roof terrace with views across the city. Included breakfast was good and local parking is 5 mins away with 25% discount for hotel guests (ask for discount card at reception).

Would have been nice to have tea & coffee making facilities in the room.
