Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm

The location is perfect: the entrance is literally near the central station. I arrived at about 12:00 and was checked in immidiately, although the official check-in time is 15:00. My room was large, spotlessly clean, with a nice view over the city. There is a small refrigerator in the room, which is perfect if you want to buy your own food and beverages. All the people at the reception were nice, friendly and very professional. The whole atmosphere at the hotel is fancy, cosy and expensive. Last year I stayed at two 5-star hotels in the Netherlands, and I will say that this hotel is of a higher standard, although it's "only" a 4-star one.

There were no shower caps in the bathroom, but I believe it's a common thing in all Swedish hotels. When I checked in, the young lady at the reception wore a mask: I'm suffering from a hear loss and heavily depend on lip-reading. I just don't think there is a point to wear medical masks while sitting behind a glass wall, especially when we're talking about Sweden, a country which never had any mask mandate at all. The lady was very helpful, and when she realized I have trouble understanding her, she agreed to take her mask off. It could be much better if hotel staff replaced the masks with face visors: it's very hard for deaf people to communicate with others people when the leps cannot be seen.

The hotel is right next to central station which is a perfect location. We booked a double room but received a junior suite which was much appreciated as we were 3 persons. Although we initially only received 2 towels, the personnel was quick to correct the error. The room was very lovely with comfortable chairs, sofa and bed. The room faced the inner garden and was very quite with a good view over the breakfast area which made it easy to plan a good time for breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. It was also very positive that coffee refill was brought directly to the table during breakfast. Quite late check-out at 12pm which guaranteed a relaxed start into the day. The personnel was friendly and I appreciated that there were no awkard comments about that we were a party of 3 in one room.

The description on booking.com only mentioned a big doublebed without any dimensions. My guess is that the bed was 160 cm which I would say is a normal size for a doublebed and not particulary big. All times for the pool were already booked for Saturday and Sunday when we arrived shortly after check-in started. It would have been nice to be made aware of if it was possible to book time at the pool befor check-in. The plug to the bathtube was missing, so we could not use the bathtub.

Royal Viking is a 4-star chain hotel with the service level and facilities you can expect. Excellent location next to main railway station, airport trains and central metro station. Professional SATS gym with lots of equipment and a nice pool area.

Very crowded breakfast Saturday 1000 hrs and crowded Sunday 1030 hrs despite very generous breakfast hours 0700-1200. Gym opening hours weekdays 0800-2000 and weekends shorter. That in practice makes the gym unusable for business travellers with an early morning meeting in the schedule. A bit sad considering the excellent gym facilities.

The location is central for the train station and buses and in a central location with a short walk to the old town. The hotel is very clean and fresh and a very comfortable stay. The cocktail social club on the top floor was a nice experience with views of the sunset. The hotel gym was very well equipped and spacious.

The staff and their hospitality. We arrived early before the check in time and luckily for us our room was ready early so we didn’t have to wait, which was great. However the staff member just gave us a key for the room, with no warm welcoming talk, no instructions or information about facilities in the hotel. The bar staff in the evening were the same, not very friendly.

Excellent position in relation to the Central Railway Station - just a few minutes to the Arlanda lines. within walking distance to much that visitors want to see. The hotel is very clean, staff are professional and very helpful. Only comment is that it appears the Scandinavian countries have no concept of high quality red or white wines. They need to employ an excellent Sommelier with extensive knowledge on wine and the manufacturing processes employed. Most visitors from outside of Scandinavia who appreciate a good wine are very aware of the importance and difference between a good and a very poor wine. The poor quality of the wines on offer were heard multiple times in multiple hotels and other drinking venues. There are a number of countries that produce excellent wines including some such as France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand to name just a few. Here is your challenge to be different to the rest!

The room was comfortable, view was good, the workers were cool, the bed was amazing, the location was great. The trip was over all positive.

It's not related to the hotel but at least during 2 of the 5 nights there was something going on just outside the hotel. It's the citys and countrys issue. There were a lot of protestors during the weekend and at night there were some very weird people going aeound. But like I said it's not the hotels fault or responsibility. But for travelers Norrmalm is an amazing place just remember to stay safe out there and keep a good head on your shoulders while traveling. No country is 100% safe.

Very convenient situation, right on the doorstep of the train station, this hotel is at walking distance of just everything. Check in and check out was efficient, the room was comfortable and very quiet, and the two bars (one on the ground floor, the other one on the 9th floor with a very nice view) were very enjoyable to have a few drinks.

The standard rooms are really small, and there is very little space to store clothes. While less of a problem for single travellers, the super tiny wardrobe is not well designed for couples and/ or longer stays.

very close to the train station with all possible bonuses of the neighborhood. one of our room was looking at the atrium where the breakfast took place - its quite annoying the noise of tinkiling plates starting from 6 am. and I wanted my window to look outside but not into another closed space (sort of claustrophobia) didn’t like at all ni swimming pool neither the spa (the jacuzzi was not working, very small swimming zone, not enough chairs for res), very cold in the changing room -so not recommended the spa zone

The breakfast was excellent as usual. I had a bathroom with lights that meant that one could actually see what one was doing - which was the first time since I started staying at the hotel 8 or nine years ago.

The only - very minor - point was that since the tv screen was not opposite the bed, I got a slightly stiff when watching tv in bed. But there was a solution: sit in a chair in front of the tv. My luggage didn't arrive on the same plane as I did, which, of course was not the hotel's fault, but when it did arrive the following morning it was brought straight to my room where it was waiting for me when I got back. This was actually a positive point...

Perfectly located near to the central railway station and the city centre. It was only a short walk from the historic areas of the city too. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent bed . Breakfast had a great array of choices available and the food was very good. Check in staff were excellent and I have to give special mention to Erik who was most helpful, highlighting on the map all the places to visit and how to get to them. One thing we particularly wanted to do was visit the tram museum and his instructions on where to get the bus, the bus number and where to alight were all perfect.

The dining room staff were a little inconsistent. Our first morning there was some sort of conference and they were so occupied setting up part of the dining room that tables weren't being cleared for other guests to use and on another occasion they had cleared our table while we were up getting coffee and more food.
