Royal Manotel

The hotel was very well situated, easy to access from the train station, there was a tram and bus station right in front of the hotel, breakfast was really good, the room was comfy and spacious and the bathroom was extremely easy to navigate as a wheelchair user. And the staff was extremely lovely

The A/C was way toi cold compared to the exterior temperature, the hotel’s disabled toilets (in the lobby, not in the room) were not navigable in a wheelchair, the hotel room were hard to navigate in a wheelchair because of the carpet and there was poor soundproofing (we heard trains with the windows closed and people in the corridor).

The room is spacious and nicely decorated, as shown in the pictures. The breakfast is elaborate. Distance to the train/bus station is just 5-7 minutes walk, while the tram stops right in front of the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in the area and Lake Geneva is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. I would also particularly like to thank Fabien, the gentleman at the reception who was so very generous with his time and guided me on leisure activities to choose from, as I was there on a short work visit.

This was a convenient and comfortable hotel. However, the concierge/gentleman in the lobby who is there to greet guests spoiled my experience at the time of checkout as he was extremely rude towards me and couldn't wait for me to leave the premises. It was a terrible experience at Swiss hospitality at its worst. I wish I could have complained to the Duty Manager, but was already late to catch my flight.

Staff at reception were extremely friendly, professional and competent. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The hotel interior is majestic. Sauna and steam bath facilities small but very relaxing and comfortable. Central location in walking distance of city centre.

The breakfast buffet was rather disappointing and was not up to the expected standard. No freshly cooked selection ( eggs, omlette) The pre-prepared scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon were comparable to that of a mediocre hotel and not consumable. Selection of fresh juices limited and freshly pressed orange juice not available.

I shared a room with my friend, staff were very friendly and there was a coffee machine, bottles of water and dressing gowns in the room. I didn't use the sauna area or eat breakfast. The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to the lake. There is a transport stop right outside the door that will take you to main station although you can also walk it in about 5 minutes.

Fantastic hotel. Looks dated in the upstairs hallway but the size and facilities of the room are exceptional. There is a handy nespresso machine in our room, great for hot water for baby bottles too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location. This hotel provided free transport pass. There is no 15 tram outside hotel which takes you to the United Nations building with Broken Chair point of interest. The Fountain is 25 min walk and so is old town. Train and bus station is 10 minutes away. Plentiful restaurants and bars, all in walking distance. Would stay again.

Breakfast was limited choice and would expect better for 4* hotel. Gym was disappointing too, only 5 machines and probably can fit 3 people max.

Breakfast was excellant every thing you needed except a very hot cup of tea. Room was good and in good location close to lift and ironing facilities. Had a problem with the bed and mattress but bed was fixed and mattress was changed within hours of reporting. The front desk staff were excellant to deal with, very polite and helpful. Melissa and Bryan to name a few. The people who looked after our room were great also, nothing was a problem to fix. Restaurant staff were most professional in their job,

The pillows leave a lot to be desired as could not get them to comfortably support your neck and head , these type are every where in Europe , don’t know how people cope with them. The air con was not the greatest , had to have it turned down to the very lowest setting just to get some mild cooling of the room.

The room is spacious, clean and sufficient toiletries were provided except tooth brush and toothpaste were missing. Sufficient wardrobes and hangers. The weighing scale is faulty, the staff is very polite and nice to exchange a new one for us.

Arrival time was provided to hotel for early check in (11am-12pm), unfortunately the room was not ready and can only check in by the given slot(from 3pm onward). Check in at the given time slot but was told that the room not ready had to wait for another 50 minutes, this was not acceptable. Don't feel welcome and friendly by the reception staffs.

Room was very luxurious, well laid out and had everything needed for a few days of travel. This hotel is an old Geneva institution. Breakfast was quite good.

Had a small run-in with the front desk about laundry. Nobody had warned me that if you prepay your stay, and don't necessarily give a credit card as guarantee (which I wasn't asked for at check in time) they would not send laundry up to your room before you come to the front desk, ask where it is, and then pay for it.. The front desk officer had an attitude about this that I didn't appreciate. Having some understanding about this process beforehand or at least a note to my room when laundry was done would have been appreciated.

Great location, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, good quality toiletries and towels. Very good stream room (sauna not so much). Excellent restaurant on site and a great bar. I like this hotel very much but the best experience comes from booking the Executive Room.

New policy: CHF50 deposit per room per night is mandatory upon checking in (fully refundable when you check out). This is just utterly weird… and definitely off putting for a returning customer. Robes and slippers are only available in the Executive Room but not in the Superior Room. Hard to understand why… at this price (£220 per night plus deposit) I would expect to find both the robe and nice slippers.
