The Talbot Hotel

I've stayed in the Talbot a couple of times a year over the last 12 years for work: it's my hotel of choice in Ledbury having tried a few others over the years when The Talbot has been fully booked. - Rooms in the main building are "quirky" due to age of the building but adds to the charm - Great "Old pub feel" in the bar: always welcoming - Great food - Friendly staff - Breakfast start weekdays now 7.00 not 7.30 which makes a big difference for work and most welcome. Cooked breakfasts excellent: Salmon & scrambled eggs on toast a winner!

Some of the rooms in the main building could do with some update (fixtures and fittings mainly bathrooms) in the bounds of what is possible in the historic structure.

The hotel was very close to the centre of Ledbury. The room was good and the breakfasts were very filling.

There were a couple of things in the bathroom that needed repairing - the light over the sink wasn't working and the shower head fitting was broken so the shower head couldn't be kept in the fitting. When I asked someone about the light, he said that he was waiting on the bulbs arriving - in this day and age it doesn't take long for bulbs to arrive! Plus the window in the bathroom didn't close properly - this was fine in the summer but I can imagine it would be quite chilly in the winter.

The manager Richard was lovely, he also explained the history of the hotel. Food at breakfast and in the restaurant was superb. The rooms in the stables were better than expected and very comfortable. All in all our stay at the Talbot was excellent as a base for a family wedding.

Lack of carpark. We had to park in a public carpark a short walk away but could unload in front of the hotel. Other than that we couldn't find anything else we weren't happy with.

The Talbot is a beautiful building steeped in history. The staff were knowledgeable, extremely helpful, very approachable and friendly. Richard and the team made every effort to make us feel comfortable and valued as guests. Our courtyard room was spacious and well decorated with good facilities. The room’s provisions were replenished daily and breakfast was very good with a vegan cooked option :)

The bathroom was sometimes overly warm and our room could have done with better ventilation, otherwise faultless!

A warm welcome & we were upgraded to a superior room, which was a nice surprise. The rooms are comfortable, cosy and tastefully decorated. The breakfast is excellent. There's no parking at the hotel but parking on the street is generally not a problem. Various public car parks are in the vicinity. We have been going to the Talbot for years but this was the first but certainly not the last time we stayed at the hotel. The bar is lively and the landlord and his team deserve nothing but praise. Will be back!

The hotel is in a very good location. The manager was very welcoming and all staff very polite. The evening meal was good value for money and breakfast was excellent, with a great range of food on offer. The bedroom was a good size and the bed was large and comfortable.

Although it didn't bother us, our room was above the bar and was noisy until 12.30am and some people may be disappointed by this. The manager did warn us in advance so we were prepared and not suddenly surprised. There is no parking at the hotel, although there is a public car park quite nearby.

Excellent long weekend break to celebrate my wife's Birthday in beautiful Ledbury. We were initially shown to an incorrect room but after 2 minutes, the oversight was rectified and we were moved to our superior room we had booked. This was a large room with a king-size bed and super en-suite. The room wax extremely comfortable and cleaned daily over our 3 night break. The hotel gave us everything we wanted including an excellent breakfast choice each morning to start our day. The bar even rustled up a bottle of champagne from their wine list so we could celebrate - two other pubs in town had failed to do this when we had asked. Well done all around especially the Manager, Richard and every single staff member who were all exceptionally friendly. All in all, a perfect stay. Thank you to all at The Talbot.

Nothing - it was perfect all around.

Stayed here for one night for family wedding close by. Lovely old place full of atmosphere, very interesting / quirky. Friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast included in price & was lovely. Good value for money. No parking at hotel but St. Katherine car park is a 2 minute walk away and overnight parking available for £7.

Not much room in the shower, very small / narrow.

The room was huge and a massive wet room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, delicious and eaten in the gorgeous wood panelled dining room. The location couldn’t be better, right in the centre of Ledbury. Cheap and easy parking just across the street. A perfect weekend away.
