Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD Hire

John & Helen absolutely loved staying for 5 days at Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD.. This fabulous, clean, comfortable, affordable self contained accomodation is located a few minutes walk to lovely Picnic Bay. The gorgeous pool was right outside our room (8) a canopy above the pool provided shade and an additional tropical garden area beside the pool was comfortable to relax in. The friendly hosts made us welcome & provided helpful advice on dining options, local walks, tips on snorkeling spots etc. The kitchenette was well equipped with all we needed & the full size fridge was terrific to have. Comfy bed & beaut rain shower with great water pressure. Terrific to be able to watch TV in bed after being out all day. It was our first visit to Magnetic Island & we were blown away at how beautiful it is. We will definitely be back and look forward to staying at Tropical Palms Resort again & we highly recommend it to you.

So easy to get the local bus that stops right outside Tropical Palms & stops at all the lovely beaches, food works, IGA & the various accomodations & the ferry terminal. It runs hourly doing a circuit of the island and meets each ferry arrival/departure. The cash only fare is very cheap for either single or day tickets (senior card holders get it cheaper again) The bus drivers are all very friendly, organized & used to visitors arriving with luggage. Picnic Bay is a quieter area of the island, there are a couple of dining options, a lovely bar, great pizza restaurant and very soon a boutique brewery will begin business.

Great location near the local brewery, Cafe, Italian restaurant and pub. Very close to the beach which was great for swimming. Bus stops right outside apartment. Easy access to walking trails into town and lookout. Coffee plunger, pots, electric frypan, microwave and fridge all provided. Such friendly hosts who were really helpful and informative. Balcony had a little table because we were on the end, this was really great!!

It is super close to the Picnic bay Tavern and the gorgeous beach and Jetty. Such a lovely spot to take a walk and enjoy the ocean. Altho the establishment is getting old and needs a complete renovation, it suited our needs as we have small children and it was spot on for our budget. The rooms have aircon and fans and was as comfortable as we needed it to be. The service was absolutely outstanding and such kind owners dropped us off at the ferry on our way back when we returned the hire car. Over all an Excellent stay.

Just the old furniture and the all over need for a modernisation. It would be much more appealing to come back if there was a little work done to the details of the property. I understand this is a matter of cost and not entirely necessary since it is all functional.

Lovely staff, great location and very clean room with everything we needed for a short stay.

Not having the leaf blower going in the morning would have been nice. Bed was very firm so not great for side sleepers- personal preference. Privacy wasnt great on the ground floor. Everyone has to walk by your room and so you have to keep the curtains shut most of the time.

We were greeted by Rob and Jen upon arrival very friendly and welcoming. We were well Informed with all activities on the island to do. My son was very pleased with being told he can choose some DVDs to watch which was great after a busy day of hiking and swimming to just relax. Room, pool and garden area very clean and tidy. We look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely family owned business, so helpful and friendly. We were given an early check-in which was much appreciated. Well equipped kitchen and games and DVDs available to borrow for free from reception. The pool was well maintained and it was only 5 min walk to stinger net swimming area at the beach.

had a lovely stay at tropical palms. place is run by a lovely couple who were very friendly and went out of there way to help you. the room was clean, bed was comfet and there was a beautiful outside area with a clean pool. good facilities including a bbq you can use whenever, good location by picnic bay and good bus service on the island to get around easily. Would recommend staying here!

Rob was a fantastic host, picked us up from the ferry terminal, gave us a quick tour of the area and we were able to rent a last minute 4WD and stinger suits from him. He also gave us some great local recommendations! The room was pleasant, quiet and comfortable and a great base to explore the island from.

Going home!

The staff was very helpful. The location was great, 2 minute walk to the beach, practically beachfront property. The rooms were good, had everything you could need. Very spacious. The pool area was nice, good for a swim and sunbathe. Nice little addition was the massive collection of DVDs in reception to choose from to use in the rooms DVD players, hundreds to choose from.

Room was very clean, the host was lovely and welcoming. Rooms are simple but location is great - one street back from the beach and there is good pool area and BBQ area. Would definitely recommend it and stay again.

Only basic facilities if you wanted to cook but there is a BBQ area.
