We loved the location, it is so close to the water & many restaurants but the main reason we stay at the Aquarius is because each room has a balcony with a water view. We always have a good night’s sleep because the beds are so comfortable.

Whilst the staff are not rude in anyway, we just found they were not overly friendly, which we feel creates an uninviting atmosphere in the foyer.

I was a little concerned after reading other reviews but .......Views and location were awesome. Right on the Strand with seaviews. . Bed was comfy, and the air con was amazing!!!!! Was a bit strange when we asked about pricing and were told we would get cheaper if we went on to Booking.com or something similar, which we did and saved $35 on a room. A bit of a muck around but at least they were honest about it. Overall nice place would definitely stay again.

Bathroom door was off hinges and didn't close properly but hubby fixed so it was at least sliding. Otherwise everything was great

Aquarius On The Beach is exactly that - a beautiful, "ocean side" highrise, holiday apartment building, situated right on the Townsville Esplanade, looking directly east towards Magnetic Island. The rooms are clean and comfortable - all that you need for a short or long stay in Townsville. The panoramic views from the open balcony are amazing - you can see from the Rock Pool at the northern end of the Esplanade, all the way to the Marina & Eastern end of the Townsville City district. Restaurants and bars at your doorstep and a hive of activity along the Esplanade - the best place to relax, exercise, or just take in the views !!!

If I could give any constructive feedback to the owners and / or the management, it would be to : 1) look into establishing a cafe, restaurant, bar on the premises. 2) maybe a viewing deck on the roof, for 360° views of Townsville. 3) a recreation room and / or a small gymnasium, recovery room (sauna / steam room, cold +/- hot, plunge pool and even a "holistic therapy" area - massage room, yoga, stretching & meditation area - using either instructors and / or TV screen based program & instructors !!!

located on the 4th floor and directly facing the view of ocean and Magnetic Island viewing the sun rise and a couple of tall palm trees gave the location "picture perfect" for all those pics to send and post on Instagram. The location is central to The Strand and daily activities, beach and cafes and restaurant are all waiting. The entire stretch of the The Strand is very clean lovely gardens people are so friendly dogs enjoying their walks and sniffing what more would you want to desire from your holiday. The places of interest to visit are extremely interesting and very well maintained and presented for the tourist in mind. The room is clean well laid out and plenty of space to relax, prepare snacks and then sit and enjoy the VIEW.

NOTHING I DID NOT LIKE and I keep coming back to holiday "from the Gold Coast" here and enjoy it more every time.

Great view on beach. Balcony was well protected from the rain so you could still get outside. Daily clean was great and handy to have an iron and ironing board. Air conditioning was also on point. Pretty affordable place for the quality in comparison to competitors.

The only things that was lacking was not having a washing up cloth to clean dishes with and one dishwashing liquid packet (only if stay was longer). Shower pressure was also a bit light, hard to wash hair and such. Apart from those two things everything else was great.

Friendly well organised staff on arrival. Quick checkin. Room was ready and spotlessly clean considering it is an older facility now. Paint work in room was clean. Bathroom was spotless. Excellent. Lovely crisp clean sheets. Everything you need in kitchenette for bringing takeaways or shopping back to your room. Fridge, microwave. Plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses. Toaster and jug. Table and chairs for dining for 2. Table and chairs also on balcony. Lounge sofa was well sat on, but clean Great views and across the road from the event I was taking part in. Well stocked snack and drinks machine near reception. Reception staff very helpful with queries in shuttle and taxis.

View was excellent when the weather was fine. Location: along the Esplanade, great for walking and close to several food and beverage options, Cafes, Gelato, and this is in addition to the amazing service and offerings at the Watermark next door. Room was very clean, large, comfy, and had self-contained amenities. Bathroom was immaculate too with Japanese Washlet bidet. Always a nice touch.

Nothing to fault for a work stopover. Hotel may look dated, but the rooms were freshly renovated. So fresh, you could still smell the fresh paint in fact!

Location and view.. spectacular. Clean comfortable bed, kitchen facilities, refrigerator and table. The reception area was welcoming and the wall art around the lift area looks great. I very much enjoyed the stay.

I didn’t mind the age of the property and bathroom fittings, I quite like the retro look. But I thought the bathroom floor tiles could do with a good scrub to bring the cleanliness up to the standard do the rest of the accommodation. A bit of the wall grout needed some bleach too. A shame really because everything else is very very clean and well kept.

Lovely room which was an executive upgrade. They put us in a basic studio at first by mistake. Basic wasn't good but executive was lovely and modern and definitely refurbished and well worth paying that bit extra. Lots of crockery etc but not needed as there was only 2 of us and no cooking facilities apart from a microwave.

The chairs on the balcony were uncomfortable and far too big as the balcony was quite small.

Brilliant location. Room clean and refurbished since I last stayed some years ago. Staff friendly and courteous. We will return.

Probably not a big deal, but the back gate could remain open later, rather than the access changing to the strand entrance. Little tight if another car is coming in or out. Typical Friday night hoons up and down the strand made us close up the door and resort to air con, rather than listening to the waves washing in on the beach front.
