The room was bright and airy and spotlessly clean. All the staff we met were friendly and informative. The breakfast was fantastic. Huge choice. It really set us up for our day’s activities.

We had a room at the back of the property. The view was out onto an unattractive roof. Our own fault we know for booking so last minute. Unfortunately though it appeared the air conditioning units were located close to our window and the sound was a little intrusive.

Great view through the front window and from the 1st floor balcony, good strong water pressure for the shower, very handy to the pub for meals and socialising, easy access to car free parking (both in front and across the road).

It was pretty expensive when all we were after was a clean room for 2 for a few nights - though it was the KI cup weekend and the last one available so not altogether surprising. Carpeted stairs up to the (1st floor) room could be a problem for some people.

it seemed very unorganised. we tried to book a table for dinner and were told they were fully booked, so we had bar snacks and a drink at around 6:30 and watched about 10 tables be unoccupied in the restaurant for 1.5hrs then bookings arrived at them to eat.. we could have easily had a meal and left in that time, as could the many people that were turned away in that hour and a half. staff weren’t over friendly , one staff member asked my mother and I at least 4 times each if we had paid for our buffet breakfast.. and she was the one that took our money.. odd experience..

This is a great spot to stay during your visit to KI. Close to a few eatery's and a supermarket. Room was clean and welcoming. Bed was firm but comfortable and I slept so well- might have been all that beautiful fresh Kangaroo Island air? Dinner at the Ozone was also lovely- I had Kangaroo which was cooked perfectly and fish of the day another night which was also yummy.

I thought the breakfast was a bit so so- same every morning and the coffee ( which I paid extra for ) was not the greatest- I did however teach the staff to make it the way I liked it by day 2 and 3! I get its basic due to the price I paid for the room but I think next time I'll go for the room only option and head down to Catus Cafe for breakfast- it was a bit more $$$ but the food ( and coffee) was superb. Get in early if you like a danish as I only saw them on offer early on one day only. Value for money for the price I paid:)

Slightly over priced. We had booked the sea view room and were given the ground level corner room no 1. That room had no privacy at all because the balcony of the room was adjoining the hotel's side door which was used by all guests of the hotel so the balcony provided zero privacy and we could never leave the room curtains open to enjoy the sea view. I think it's not fair to charge the same room tariff for ground level and level 1 rooms because the ground level rooms have zero privacy and also the sea view is not the same as that enjoyed by the level 1 rooms.

Nice to see the standard rooms have been upgraded, basic but I think theyve done a lovely job. Friendly staff, great, location

Upon noticing no iron/board in the room, I walked down to reception (there is also no phone in the room!) to ask if I could have one sent up, they advised only one communal iron is avaliable, is being used and would send it up in 20 mins. When it arrived there was no iron board! I was told I would need to iron on the bed and advised the standard rooms are no longer equipt with an iron/ironing board. For a four start hotel at $219 a night I would expect at the very least a couple of communal irons and IRONING BOARDS could be made availiable, especialy considering you can pick up and iron form Kmart for $7 and an ironboard for $19, pretty small investment I reckon and I get the impression this feedback has been given muliple times before

Loved the view, and sitting on the balcony. Great facilities in the room, was nice to relax in the spa bath, was good to have free wifi even though it dropped out a bit. Lady at reception was very friendly and helfpul. Very good kitchen and spacious rooms.

There was a staff member ? (blue shirt & name badge by the roller doors out the back) talking on her phone very loudly early in the morning which woke us both up. The strange lump down the middle of the bed was a bit uncomfortable so my partner and I had to both sleep on opposite sides away from the middle of the bed

Location was great and directly opposite the waterfront. The room was small but nicely appointed and very clean. The adjoining pub and bistro were fantastic with quality food and wine. All staff were very friendly.

The only disappointment was that our view of the water was blocked by the corner of the building roof. If we had been in the room next door it would have been fine. Next time I will request a room further along the corridor.

Location (good base for exploring key sights on the island); proximity to supermarket, cafes and gift stores; convenience of hotel restaurant; nearby playground for the kids; relaxed atmosphere; serene setting.

Would have liked if the pool was warmer... but otherwise it is hard to find anything to complain about!

Our room was across the road from the hotel in a 3 storey building, the room was large and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was served in the hotel, there were hot dishes (bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, mushrooms and cooked tomatoes), packaged cereal, pastries, yoghurt and fruit.

Parking was on the street in front of the new building, but felt safe during the off-peak time. It would have been useful to have some information in the room about the breakfast time, the dinner menu and general visitor information for the area. Toiletries were in the very wasteful plastic bottles, I would have preferred to have bulk dispensers. The towels were not the standard expected for the cost of the room. The spa bath was quite high and difficult to step into. There was no plug for the bath so the spa wasn't useful.
