Only needed a bed so wasn't expensive, and being able to dine there at night was very handy. Meal options were good and we enjoyed our choices both nights.

Rooms are needing a revamp, mattress was quite firm.. We had a ground floor unit and could hear the movement and shower above and just happened to be 5am both mornings. If you plan to bring your own breakfast options, you would need to bring plates/bowl and cutlery as only tea cups provided. No microwave, just kettle and toaster. Breakfast is available to order.

I don’t have high expectations of motels in general but this was one that I’d willingly return to especially for the restaurant, which was great. Run by a father & son, they were super-friendly and eager to ensure we had a good stay, which we did. The rooms (we had two, both on the upper floor) were clean, comfortable, well-equipped and quiet. The shower looked pretty new, had very good pressure and was wonderfully hot. The restaurant menu would be well-regarded in a big city hotel so to find this quality of food in a country motel was exceptional. Dave is both the owner and chef and he can definitely cook! Sometimes flowery descriptions are not matched by the actual food but that was not the case here. We had the prawns, scallops, fillet steak, pork ribs and steak & wine pie and all were delicious. A great mix of traditional and modern coooking. The building is, as it says, heritage, completed in 1868 so it may not appeal to guests who want a more modern setting. For those who like the charm of an old building with modern facilities, you’ll be very happy. We’d go out of our way to return some day.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food served for 3 nights. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very cheerful and obliging and nothing was too much trouble.

Did advise owner of noisy air conditioner turning on, which he advised, would check. One of my 3 nights, there was someone in the unit above me, and I could hear him moving around ( he was very heavy footed with boots on)

Stayed for three days. Had an Amazing experience throughout. Right from Check in, Facilities in the room, accessibility to food and tourist spots everything was great. Since i had walking difficulties even without me, mentioning it, was given a room in the ground floor. Restaurant breakfast was on time and sumptuous. Dont miss the prawns with mango icecream and breakfast if you get the chance. kudos to dave for managing such a great service. Highly recommend.

The room was very spacious and surprisingly well equipped. It has an in yard parking space so you don’t need to park on the street. Very easy check-in and check-out.

Perhaps placing the bookings a bit further away from each other when there’s not that many people staying in the hotel for a night.

Room met our expectations, it was certainly value for money and it was on ground level which was very appropriate for our age. The best part of this facility is the restaurant, the food was spectacular although pricey, but we certainly get what we paid for. Will stay there again if in that area.

The room was clean and beds comfortable with electric blankets as it was cold being winter Being able to eat at the restaurant on site that night was so good The food especially the steak and the prawns were Amazing The staff were friendly and were quite Knowledgeable

There was parking available but for bigger vehicles it was abit tricky And depending on where you parked it was abit tricky coming in and out of the place But didn’t spoil our stay at all

Beautiful motel outside of the Grampians. Great budget option to avoid pricey accommodation in Halls Gap. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and spacious with a big bathroom. The food in the restaurant was also great with friendly service staff.

The door sometimes didn’t open when swiping the card, needed a bit of a jiggle. Given it’s an old building, the water pipes sometimes whistled a bit. The mattress was a bit soft but that’s just personal preference as we prefer firm.

The motel is a bit tired but Dave the owner was great & squeezed us in for dinner which was superb. We met other people staying there who were regulars which says it all.

The air-con/heating in the room next door was quite noisy.
