I loved the old school decor, and the friendly staff. Also compliments on having very comfortable bedding. Most modern hotels have this plastic horrible bedding. This was just a dream to sleep in the bed. Location is absolutely great you can walk to and from the train station. There was a lovely flea market on the Square this morning when I woke up. 

Not a big deal… I wanted there to be a safe in the room. There was a safe in the main closet, but it was free floating meaning if somebody wanted to walk off with the entire safe, they could. So they were just need to bolted down. Also, I would like the big enough to put a laptop computer in. This is not a big deal at all, but since I travel a lot, I decided to keep my valuables with me and walk around town with them. This is the only reason I gave it a nine and not a 10 😀

We arrived at the hotel after a full day in the car...our first impressions of the hotel were OMG! This is furnished like a Palace! We were very happy to find we had picked this hotel with the excellent service, the highly decorative and ornate room and substantial breakfast. Location is right in the heart of Klagenfurt - very easy to find our way around town.

Parking was at the covered car park - approximately 25m from the hotel. There is an unloading bay and we didn't feel the distance to the car park was much of a problem.

The hotel is a bit ecentric, with the lobby on the 2nd floor, but it was colorful and clean, and the personnel was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the city to access everything by foot. We arrived by bicycle and the hotel offers a locked room for bicycle storage (you do need to take them on the elevator down to the basement).

Impossible to improve upon location with a reasonbly priced parking garage. Palace was renovated in the 70' / 80's and these improvements reflect the renovation style of that era, a true time capsule of the vision of luxury then. No Feng Shui here but heavily overloaded luxury (thats what you came for or should have) Pink marble bathrooms with golden trim etc. etc. Ivana Trump whould not have done it better, a bit like the Plaza in NYC.

No ghosts roaming the palace...

Courteous and friendly staff at reception. Late check in was no problem. Clean room, clean hotel. This is a traditional old fashioned Austrian hotel. So the rooms have dark wood and tiles. I thought it had a lot of character. Fairly priced.

Building site next to hotel was a bit noisy in the morning.

the hotel is atonishing - real gem, lobby, reception and other parts are breathing the history..old timer meets new times. the stuff so nice as long not met

breakfast not that rich, but i guess due to lack of guests, the rooms need some update - small tv etc, minibar empty, but acceptable

Very charming old-style rooms (at least the larger ones that look to the New Square). Very nice and helpful staff, trying to flexibly accommodate the needs of the guests. Very good home-style breakfast buffet, with the restaurant being quite flexible in its timing (much appreciated!)

Staff could not be more helpful and even arranged early breakfast for many guests due to a large sporting event. 24/7 staff too which is great for late arrivals. Flexible clean space in the room suitable for family members and nicely nostalgic feel to the building and decoration. Location was central, 1km walk from the train station and all local amenities a short walk in front of the hotel. About 45-55min walk to the lake along the canal.

Great location in a former palace on the main square, so the Christmas market is right outside the door. Clean room with good wifi and the bathroom included a bath as well as a shower. Breakfast is served in a mirrored hall with chandeliers. Close to the Heiligengeistplatz which has bus connections to the airport and train station.
