Leonardo Hotel Salzburg Airport

A good hotel situated just outside Salzburg, in the airport area. If you arrive by car, it offers a free parking spot in front of the hotel. Just next the hotel there is a supermarket and at 5 minutes walking distance you have the commercial area, with fast-foods, gas station, bus stations and McArthur Glenn Designer Outlet, a shopping mall where you can find shops of the most famous brands, with sales prices all year long. The hotel is at 5 minutes walk to the bus station, from where you can take the bus for city center, which is a 15-20 minutes ride. Also, at 10 minutes ride by car, you have the Hangar 7 museum, the famous Red Bull museum.

We chose this hotel because we needed a place to stay on our way from Czech republic to Italy and it really met my expectation and purpose. Hotel staff was really kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Since we were coming by car, we really appreciated the free parking. A/C and minibar was working just well. Bed was also comfortable so we were fresh after that one night and we could continue our trip.

When we came just after check-in to our room, the trash bin was not clean, so there was some garbage after the previous guests that occupied the room before us. It did not really bothered us that much to report it, but it spoiled the impression a little. In our bathroom the shower leaked the water pretty much everywhere from the bottom, but since we stayed one night, it was not something that would bother us much.

The hotel is conveniently located near the airport if you have an early flight, only 950 m and an easy walk. 24h check in, and a Penny market 100 m away if you need water or something. The room was exactly as described, spacious, modern, absolutely everything worked (TV, lights, aircon -silent-, warm shower). There were a mini fridge, a coffee machine, and a water boiler in the room. Couch and desk, very comfortable, clean and quiet. Also suitable for a business trip.

All good - only advice is that the name in booking.com should be changed to Leonardo as this is the name at the entrance, I was a bit confused when searching for Star Inn.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was tidy and clean. The hotel also set up a baby crib for us with its own bedding ready for when we arrived. There was a fridge in the room too which was unexpected.

The room was slightly warm, even in january, but it did have air con so that sorted it out. There wasn't a kettle which we were worried about at first as we needed boiling water for our baby bottles but we had flasks that the staff were more than happy to fill with boiled water for us

The room was comfortable, the staff were nice and helpful. There is an outlet about 7 minutes of walking away from the hotel. the nearest bus station is about 10 minutes walk and there you can take a bus to the city center. The is free parking for guests. In general we were pleased with our staying.

The AC is not really cooling

We had a family suite and it was big. Excellent views from the hotel room. There is a new construction near to the hotel, so the view might be blocked in the future. Easy to commute from city center (bus: 180/181/27)

The corridor carpets stink (Not the rooms). If you find yourself on a hot sunny day (above 28 deg C), then the AC is useless. Has no effect.

It's located about 15 min. walk along a major road from the airport. No bus, but taxi. Since my cellphone received no signal, thus no GPS. So, I went to the airport information desk asking for direction before I started to walk. There's a supermarket very close to the hotel. Several bus lines around the airport go to the city (tourist attractions). The hotel sells bus tickets. All you need is to validate it before boarding.

Nothing really. I know in advance.

We were staying in 4 people room. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and bathroom was surprisingly big. There was more than enough space expect closet - it is small and a group of three we had a problem with sharing this space, I can't imagine how the group of four is supposed to fit their stuff there.

Room was at exactly same level as roof parking and our windows overlooked this parking. Without curtains everyone can look into your room from parking.

24/7 reception, fast check-in. Walking distance from the airport (10 min) and outlets. Nice area. 24/7 bar where we got drinks and hot soup at arrival (at night). It was wonderful after long flight. Hotel kept our luggage after check-out until our late night flight. Kind, welcoming personnel at the reception. Helped us to arrange PCR test for flight. We’d stay there again.

Room and common areas cleaning. No eggs at breakfast at all, just empty plates..

Clean hotel, large rooms, nice selection for breakfast. Close to the airport and a Penny supermarket and clothes outlet. Very good value for money. Free parking as well.

The mini fridge in the room was not working and had a strong smell of fish. Had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. We didn't report it at the time because we didn't need to use it.
