Room is clean, equipped with refrigerator, water kettle, coffee, tea, and wine glasses! Complimentary a bottle of still water and a pack of waffles :) The washroom actually has a cloth line for hanging wet clothes. Very useful. They also have luggage storage room. The only problem was that the closest tram stop went out of service after our first day of stay... So one night we walked a stop away (15 mins) and the neighbourhood was relatively dark with little pedestrians. We later learned to take bus 14.

We stayed at The Rainer's hotel for 2 nights on a short visit to Vienna. The location was ok, as I was trying to find somewhere close to Vienna Central train station for travel to the airport and travel into Vienna city. The closest train station was only 5 mins walk so this made travelling around easy. We are a family of 5, so like most hotels they don't cater for bigger families, so had to book 2 rooms. This can make hotel stays very expensive, but the Rainer hotel was reasonably priced making it more affordable, compared with other hotels in Vienna. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, the bathrooms were again clean and facilities were good i.e. soaps, towels & hairdryer supplied. Breakfast was not included in our stay but decided to have breakfast on the last morning before heading to the airport and we were not disappointed, the breakfast was good value (compared with the price of coffee & cake in Vienna £££!). The breakfast was buffet style/self service with plenty of choice available. The breakfast area was clean and tidy with tables cleared quickly for the next guests, plenty of staff around should you need assistance. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nothing really to dislike!

The twin room and the bathroom are quite spacious, a bit basic, but very functional. The bed is comfortable. The night curtains are opaque. There's a safe in the room. The air conditioning is discrete and agreable, however it is efficient. The room is cleaned daily. The stuff is helpful. The hotel is well connected to the city. There's a bus stop in front of the hotel and a tram&train station nearby (5 min walking). The hotel is also pretty close to the Central train station (1 train stop/30 min walking). There are 2 supermarkets close enough (a Penny and a Spar).

It was a nice hotel, not amazing but a good value for money. Fairly close to the city center (very close to public transports) and easy to reach by car. the breakfast was nice and had a good assortment of foods. Some of the staff were very nice and friendly.

It is a good place if you are on a budget but: be prepared to be around a lot of tourist groups as the location and size of the hotel make it perfect for holiday tours (be aware of this especially at breakfast as you might be unable to find a place to sit), the shampoo dispenser was not refilled and it was already 3/4 empty when we got there.

This hotel is perfect for a family vacation. The rooms are clean and cozy. The breakfast is exceptional, has many things to offer and is delicious. The location is very close to the city center (only a few stops away from the opera) and a few grocery stores are nearby (plus a great pizza place). The staff was always friendly and helpful (also very young).

The bathroom was a bit smelly (maybe because of the pipes) and not the cleanest. There were hairs from the previous guests on the shower wall.

We had a quiet room. Complimentary bottled water, appreciated. Convenient to take tram to town centre and back . Walk was about 40 mins which we did a few times after stuffing some cakes in town :-))

When taking shower, I only realised that the shampoo/shower gel bottle was empty. Had to re-dress and went down to the reception to get a new bottle. The safety box in the room didn't work. A receptionist came to fix it and it is still not working. She promised to send a "professional" person to look at it the next day but it still didn't seem fixed.   The dark hair female receptionist who we met when we checked in, needs some training in communicating with guests  - speak slowly and with patience :-)

November 2022

We spent 2 nights here in August 2022 and were given an early check-in at 11.00AM due to room availability. We were allocated Room 303 which is a spacious triple room on the topmost floor, easily accessible by lift. Air-conditioning was a relief as summer days can be sometimes oppressive. Although the room window was facing west, this did not bother us. A coffee machine was provided plus lots of complimentary coffee and tea. There were also plenty of clothes hangers, something which can be easily overlooked in some other hotels. The provision of a full-length mirror outside the bathroom is a bonus. Location-wise, the hotel is very close to the main railway hub and is a short 6-minute walk from Matzleinsdorfer Platz (tram and train stop). Here in the multicultural district of Favoriten, there are heaps of eating places, especially kebabs and Middle Eastern fare, and a Hofer supermarket if you continue walking along Gudrunstraße in the opposite direction.

Matzleinsdorfer Platz (tram and train stop) was a little confusing as the road works and barriers blocked some exits and we had to find alternative (indirect) routes to get to the hotel. The shower separator screen is not water-tight and so water seeps on to the floor near the toilet bowl. Overall, decent accommodation for a pleasant stay.

There are parking places right in front of the hotel, and we were glad we didn't have to look for a public parking because we were so tired when we arrived at the hotel. Check in was very easy and quick, the people at the front desk were very nice, and the room (349) looked exactly like the photos. I was afraid it would be cold, because I've read a comment that someone had problems with the heating, but for us it wasn't the case. We even had to lower the temperature a bit. The room was cleaned every day, they even changed our towels once during our stay although we didn't leave them on the floor. We had the possibility to prepare some tea or instant coffee in the room, and it was so good to have a hot cup of tea when returning to the hotel after visiting Vienna. Excellent breakfast starting from 6:30 a.m. with so many things to choose from, we didn't even get to taste everything they had to offer. The employees were cleaning the tables all the time, and they kept bringing more fresh food and clean plates to the breakfast area. The coffee was also great, you could choose from espresso, caffe crema, cappuccino or hot chocolate. The public transportation system can be a bit overwhelming for someone who's not used to it, but there are good connections to everywhere you want to go. Once you get the hang of it, it's easier to get around. And then you have to leave :)

I have absolutely nothing to complain about our stay at Rainers Hotel. My only regret is that we didn't get to visit everything we wanted, because Vienna has so much to offer!

The accomodation completely met our expectation. It was reasonably priced. Easy to park for free on the street at weekend and the cleanliness was spick and span. Quick check in and check out. Within a walking distance from the downtown (aprox 15-20 minutes of brisk walk).
