The staff was so friendly and personable.

The extra charges for booking activities through them wasn't sufficiently communicated. And the information for what we were to do wasn't properly communicated with the provider.

Shadine and Jacqueline are amazing. The entire staff is so welcoming from the cleaning staff to the driver to the bartender (Justin). They gave us welcome drinks. The driver took our luggage to the room. Jacqueline gave us a tour of the room and explained everything. They are available 24/7 on Watsapp. This made communication very easy, quick, and efficient. The room is huge, clean and has a fridge. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is huge. The balcony overlooking the pool, bar and beach is breathtaking. It was quiet and serene. We used the free bikes to ride around the city to the other side where we cab get into the beach with no seaweed and went to Wendy's Restaurant. I loved it.

The restaurant on the premise food took over 45 mins before it was brought out. I am not sure why but it was only 2 tables being served and mine was 1 of em.

The service, amenities, beach location on the boardwalk to all local bars and restaurants (plus amazing onsite Muna Restaurant), and cleanliness of overall facility. Beds were super comfy! Other hotels on the boardwalk were not nearly as nice as The Ellysian. Many hotels didn't have their pool on the same side as the beach (this does!) The hotel staff went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make this hands down the best place we have ever stayed. They arranged the COVID testing to come right to the hotel too- super convenient and easy. We had asked if they had paddle boards available and within 20 min their staff had 3 available for our 3 kids. 👍

It is a great little hotel at the central spot in Placencia. Easy access to the Cayes, with many scuba and snorkeling trips available in the town. The barrier reef is beyond belief if you do scuba.

We went in August, in the rainy season, and there were quite a bit of mosquitoes early in the morning. During the day it was fine. No mosquitoes at the beach or the restaurant. Only inland, and only very early in the day.

it was clean, roomy, the view was great. WiFi was strong. TV had a few kinks, service interruptions, but we were not there to watch tv. it was a great get away. Jean, Denise, Shinellie, Bernard and all the other workers were all very helpful and accommodating. Walking distance to local restaurants. Food all seemed fresh. lived among the locals. If you are not willing to live among the locals you may want to consider a resort. The Boutique Hotel(s) are among where the locals live. Reminds me of mixed housing. The Ellysian Hotel and staff were great!

The staircase to the rooftop restaurant needed better lighting and the vines needed to be trimmed. Maybe consider adding a screen to the sliding doors to balcony. the above are not deal breakers.

Excellent staff. Prime location. Clean, safe, good size. Pool is pretty small, and pool bar closes early and before sunset, but that's a minor issue. Restaurant is great setting and decent food, but not great. It's not bad, but it's not a memorable meal but was good. Bikes are fairly shabby condition but do the trick and are fun. In-room coffee is Maxwell House packets, and we couldn't do that with such great local Belizean coffee so we bought our own to brew in the room. Nicely spacious room, and very comfy except for the sofa which was ok but hard to get out of. Great all around, and super central location. Staff are just great like Jean, Shinellie, and Sheritt.

Better in-room coffee needed. Electric/digital door locks would be very good. Offer discount for dining for hotel patrons. Need remote control instructions in-room for tv.

The hotel was amazing. I arrange for a free pickup from the airport. Even though my flight was changed they still knew and picked me up on time. The room we got was perfect and open up to the first floor pool with beautiful rooms. Vanessa at the bar is AMAZING!! Such a great asset to the hotel and amazing bartender and had wonderful customer service. She was extremely hospitable and made sure we were taken care of at the pool. The food and drinks at the pool were amazing. Highly recommend the fish and chips. Overall wonderful stay and can’t wait to visit again.

The style, comfort and location of this hotel were all exceptional. Plus, the staff was really helpful and friendly. We were right by two popular beach bar/restaurants--loved Tipsy Tuna--and on the end of the main street, which we walked several times. The pool overlooking the ocean was lovely and our balcony was huge.

There were some definite misses with the food on the rooftop restaurant, but some dishes were good and the views/staff were incredible.

Everything! It is a beautiful hotel, very clean and comfortable, with an amazing view. The Staff is amazing!! Always with a smile, super friendly, and made sure we were always comfortable.

First, the staff were all just incredibly kind and helpful! The hotel was exemplary in appearance. many special touches that I won’t get into because I don’t want to ruin the experience for travelers.
