Stunning and imaginative decor, it was so great to see the restoration of this art deco cinema bringing the building back to life. We are from London and it reminded us of the Biba store of the 1970s…really friendly and welcoming staff too.

Mattress was a little hard for my taste, but that seems to be fairly standard in many of the hotels we have stayed in in Cambodia over the past few days.

Location location location!! Right in the heart of Kampot, a stones throw from the Durian Roundabout and the small side streets full of bars/shops/restaurants are opposite the hotel. Short 5 minute walk to the Riverfront. Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Our room (Superior King Suite) was huge with a private leafy outdoor balcony overlooking the pool area and spotlessly clean with superb air-conditioning, a fridge, safe, and tea/ coffee making facilities with a kettle. Complimentary Shampoo and Shower gel are also provided and the shower was powerful with very hot water. Breakfast was the highlight, fantastic choice every day and the food so beautifully presented and served by the wonderful Lin who was a joy. This Hotel has been stunningly restored and beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout in Art-Deco style, beautiful pastel shades and plenty of greenery and huge towering palms and plants in the open roof area of the Reception area. Owners and staff were all amazing, so friendly and helpful and arranged a tuk tuk driver for us to see Bokor National Park and also Bo Tree Pepper Farm and the salt fields. Couldn't fault this hotel, we loved its quirkiness and the fantastic service provided by everyone who works there. Absolutely excellent stay from start to finish. Don't miss this gem on your visit to Kampot but book early as it's popular and you can see why.

This hotel is a former cinema now lovingly restored in Art Deco style. It has a definite wow appeal when you first enter the lobby and the bedrooms. The owners and staff are warm, friendly, attentive and helpful and create a very welcoming atmosphere. The bedrooms are large, quirky, spotlessly clean and have good air con. The small pool, restaurant and lobby are very tastefully decorated. The breakfast is outstanding. We had an evening meal there on one night and it was delicious and value for money. The location is just 5 minutes walk from the old town yet is very quiet. There are lots of super cafes and restaurants nearby to the hotel. Kampot has an alternative, relaxed atmosphere and is well worth a visit. This hotel is to be recommended.

I would like to have awarded a score of 10 but I have to take one point away for allowing smoking in the indoor/outdoor bar area (not the restaurant or bedrooms). A small point and one which shouldn't put you off booking one of the best hotels in Kampot, but it does let the hotel down (owners: room for improvement here)

This hotel truly exceeded our expectations. It looked great on the booking.com website but it was even better in person. The staff were super helpful and always ready to make recommendations for sightseeing options, organise drivers or just chat in general - we loved finding out about the history of the hotel/cinema. Location was very central in the very walkable town of Kampot. The decor is absolutely mind-blowing - bravo to the interior designer. Great pool to cool off at the end of a big day exploring. We LOVED the Gin Club and the cocktails were 100% next level. Breakfast was included and it truly was amazing. The kitchen/restaurant staff were super friendly and accommodating and I cannot think of a negative for this hotel stay.

What a beautiful boutique hotel. The renovation of the old cinema and the layout of the super spacious rooms were fantastic. The room was so comfortable and had everything you need and more. The pool was a perfect temperature and a great way to spend the afternoon after a tour. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Kampot town and surrounding areas. The breakfast was exquisite. Not only the taste but the presentation. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We wish we could’ve had more than 2 nights here. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Kampot.

Cannot fault anything.

Excellent location close to the riverside, and also right next to Kimseng bus terminal. Breakfast was huge, very filling. Kept me full until the afternoon. The staff speak excellent English and were very attentive during breakfast and when I checked out. The pool is small but gorgeous, and it is great for sunbathing and soaking. The art deco motif was lovely and inspiring - it does give holiday vibes.

The balcony in my room was way too small to be functional, and there were small weird windows in the room so sunlight comes in and woke me up even if I wanted to sleep in.

Gilly, Simone and the rest of the team at the Old Cinema hotel went out of their way to give us a great stay. The atmosphere at the hotel is really good, the food is amazing and the people are just so nice. The rooms themselves were good and very clean. We celebrated my moms birthday there and I could order a cake that was prepared by the chef and they even helped us decorate with banners/balloons. The location is also great, we usually stay around the river when in Kampot but loved being more close and at walking distance from everything in town this time around. You can also ask the hotel to help you organize trips around the area. All in all, we will come back for sure and can recommend going here to everyone!

I do not know where to begin. The hospitality at this hotel is exceptional! They added a pad to my bed to make it softer for me. Breakfasts were amazing! The hotel is a delight to the eye in decor and design. I absoutely loved my experience here and will be recommending it to others.

The absolutely, only thing, that would have been helpful is to have a list of the channel numbers, channel names, and language for the TV. But that is MINOR!!

Firstly, this hotel only has 8 rooms, so if it's available and you are reading this, then book it immediately! We were lucky enough to stay in the Superior King Suite and it is exceptional. The whole hotel has been restored/renovated in the style of a cinema, it has been expertly done. Every corner of the hotel has a design feature that reflects a time gone by, yet is clean and modern. Everything about the hotel oozes quality, the food, the cocktails, the breakfast! The staff are very approachable and attentive and you feel truly looked after. We were only in Kampot for 1 night and one of the reasons we made a detour there, was to experience this hotel. Absolutely delighted that we did.

Everything is fantastic, only wish we could have stayed longer!

This was surely the best hotel experience I've ever had. It is very beautiful with a jungle like courtyard and pool. Best location. The hotel has only few rooms and they are very nice. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They helped organize the outings and transfers for us. Everything we asked help with, we got excellent help and recommendations. Breakfast was served by order and was delicious.

The pool was a tiny bit colder than my personal preference, but this is the only thing I can think of that I would have changed. Though overall it didn't affect my general opinion of this hotel and I still used the pool several times.
