Don't think about it any longer! This is the place to stay on the island. The cottages are spotless, modern, super clean, perfectly designed, and so comfortable. The bed was wonderful. Linens fresh and clean every day. There's a Hartman Cardon portable speaker to play your music bwhile chilling on your terrace with ocean view or getting a shower in the beautiful outdoor bathroom. Cleaning service was discreet and spotless. Pool area is wonderful, in front of the sea with great sun beds. The gardens with the tall palm trees and the frangipani are a piece of art. The breakfast, the restaurant and the Cafe are superb! Even if you stay for a long time you have so many high quality, tasty, elegant, versatile options. You don't need to get out of the resort to eat. Prices are extremely fair. They offer a great and fair laundry service. Scooter rental at the hotel is possible: again, fair prices and fantastic Scooters. Staff in the restaurant, reception, and in general is welcoming, very nice and professional. The only criticism we could make is that they don't have a beach directly at the hotel premises, but if you walk 200 mts, you'll get to a very nice one, with the mostly beautiful sunsets ever. JUST GO, YOU'LL LOVE IT! PS: We changed to another five star hotel to have some variety and since minute one, we are regretting this decision. Unfortunately we couldn't get back to Shantaa as it was fully booked

- Gorgeous and well kept property. - Food in the restaurant is absolutely amazing so you never would need to think of going elsewhere even if it's pricier than Thai norm - Breakfast was brilliant and bountiful - Some staff were very friendly - Useful moped rental to take day trips on the island (well worth it!) - Romantic setting and nicely decorated rooms and bathrooms - Lovely pool setting and a large perfectly fine beach nearby.

- Didn't get any information before coming on how to get there. You should prebook from the airport to Koh Kood avoid having to pay hefty transfer fees - 10% service charge on all items. Would prefer to offer tips for good service, as some service was not great.

A magnificent stay at the Shantaa Resort! First of all, the setting of the hotel, with its breathtaking view of the Gulf of Thailand between coconut and palm trees. The gardeners do a remarkable job of maintaining everything. There are various bars, beaches and a swimming pool to enjoy all day long. The bungalows offer every comfort. The bedding is top-notch. The outdoor bathroom is pleasant. The accommodation was perfectly maintained by the cleaning staff! As for the restaurant, we ate very well every day. The menu is varied and there are plenty of choices in terms of food. Breakfast was excellent! The restaurant staff were so friendly, always smiling and responsive. You should also know that the hotel provides canoes and kayaks and paddle boats free of charge. It is also possible to hire a scooter for 300 bath/day directly from reception (recent scooter in very good condition). I can only recommend Shantaa Resort if you are looking for quality services with a team that takes great care of you in a calm and relaxing setting. Thanks again to the Shantaa Resort team, we'll be back!

EVERYTHING! Shantaa is amazing, we booked one of the Shantaa Sweet Bungalows right in front of the beach, the view is stunning, the garden is well maintained, the room smelled so good when we arrived, the outdoor bathroom is very chic, the furniture and design of the room are so unique, the staff is always helpful and friendly, the breakfast is a la carte and super delicious!!! The beach area is very nicely decorated with a bar and a super view where you can enjoyed the sunset. Can’t wait to return there!

Very modern, clean and hugely spacious room with a great picturesque view of both the garden and the sea. It might be worth noting that I stayed in a room/villa called "+1" which I highly enjoyed. Overall, this is a beautiful and very well managed resort where staff speaks good English and are highly professional. Their restaurant is well known for great food. The scooters they rent look and feel like they are brand new. WiFi was great throughout my stay.

The portion sizes at breakfast were a bit small but at least this way it is difficult to overeat or produce lots food waste.

I could write a small essay about Shantaa resort, but no amount of words would do it justice. Staff, friendliness, cleanliness, food choice ( absolutely outstanding and super generous servings- the kitchen staff are simply.. Artists in their profession). The dining area stuff are totally aware of your allergies when you order something that perhaps you shouldn't.  Absolute professionals. A special kudos - concept of  buffet breakfast  does not exist here ( avoids food waste ), buy you are welcome to choose as many options as you wish ..oh.. did I mention the quality of the food ??!!! The villa ...Wow !!! We stayed in P5 villa and I have never stayed in such a room with such good taste & quality  furniture and decoration... even down to the curtains.. privacy was exquisite.  .. the bathroom/ shower area.. wow... superb features. Now.. it is not the cheapest place to stay, but if you are looking at super services, privacy and a small piece of heaven . look no further.  Will be a returning guest Thanks Shantaa!

Very nice place, rooms and bathrooms are outstanding! Food is excellent and has a good variety of dishes, Asian and western cuisine in its best. The owner's involvement can be felt and seen.

As mentioned, I liked most of the place, but the guests are condemned to go to bed at 9pm! The Coffee-bar at the beach should open at least till 11 pm, (no disco noise but relaxing romantic atmosphere). The Air-condition unit in the rooms should be better located and not blow directly on the sleeping guests.

Stayed with my partner and 3 kids for 5 nights. Excellent resort - clean, comfortable rooms with outdoor shower, excellent swimming pool with floats for the children, and really delicious and varied food at the restaurant. Cute little cafe near the pool, and bar area, serving good drinks. Access to nearby beach. Resort arranged to rent bikes for us, with towels provided for day trips to other beaches. They also packed breakfast for us on our last day to catch the early ferry. Overall fantastic stay, highly recommended.

We came at low season and beach was not swimmable due to rough seas and waves. Nonetheless, we were surprised with the good weather for the time of year, and staff accommodated all our needs.

From the arrival in a delightful lobby with a fresh beverage, to the 25meters white marble swimming pool (!!!), the top-level cuisine, the fact that every need will be covered with smile and exceptional service and details (your luggage will be transported to the room in a small covered trolley, so that the rain does not touch it - scooters for rent at a very decent price directly from the hotel - fantastic beds and furniture, very good wifi even at the pool (!) ...), the paradise-garden everywhere, attention to detail and family spirit (it is not a big impersonal complex), YOU WILL NOT FIND A BEST HOTEL in this island, perhaps even in the country. Did I mention the white marble pool ?

Perhaps that the semi-exterior bathtub could be changed, the sun attacks starts to be visible on it. BUT the room and bathroom were perfect otherwise, so a small detail does not represent the overall exceptional stay.

It’s a beautiful hotel in stunning grounds - our room had a gorgeous view of coconut trees and sea. The houses are all spread out, so there’s privacy and each one has a beautiful view. The attention to detail and level of care were beyond my expectations. Food delicious. Three places to eat: main restaurant, beach bar and cafe. All were in wonderful locations and served amazing food. Our Room was blissful. Half outdoor bathroom fun. We didn’t want to leave.
