Travelodge by Wyndham Brandon

It was a bit strange when we pulled up as the front desk area appeared to be locked and a sign said go through another door. Followed the signs and came to a room that appeared to be a temporary setup. There was someone on the phone who completely ignored me and I waited until someone else came in. Got registered no problem and received the keys for the room. The person gave me verbal instructions on how to find the room but to be honest it was a bit of a maze but finally found it. Once there opened the outside door for access. Room did really exceed my expectations. There was a connected Chicken Chef where we had take out. Quiet room, very comfortable.

There could have been better signage for what looked like renovations for the front lobby and explanation or apology from staff for the temporary setup.

Everything about Brandon Travelodge was amazing. After an absolutely terrible experience in Thunder Bay, Ontario I called to see I would expect the same thing on Brandon. They assured me it would not be repeated. I arrived in Brandon and Rae, who answered my call earlier, somehow knew who I was and provided excellent customer service including being apologetic for my situation in Thunder Bay. The staff were amazing including housekeeping. I have nothing but high praise for this hotel and would recommend them to anyone. The cool thing too was the room had both inside entry and outside facing door. That is great when you come with a pet.

The only thing I think could have made this better is laundry facilities on site.

It is on a main route, not far from shopping and the university. There is also a pool with waterslide and hot tub and some exercise equipment. A Chicken Chef is onsite as well as a bar and beer vendor.

Some of the common areas looked aged but that’s a small criticism, it was difficult to find something to not like.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was very spacious, had a fridge, freezer , coffee and microwave. The water pressure was good . They supplied lots of towels and pillows. The pool and hot-tub were well maintained. The water slide was great. The price was very reasonable- great value. Handy beer store and restaurant next door. Pretty central location. Very dog friendly and two doors into the room ( one from the hallway and one to the outside) which was very handy

It would have been nice if there was a pool for swimming as opposed to just a landing pool for the waterslide.

Although the room’s window faces a road, but it was quiet inside at night. And there is a park behind the Travelodge, it is good for a tired driver to have a walk. If you like Chinese food, the Lee’s buffet is a good choice for a dinner.

The sheet on the bed was damp, maybe the prior guest turned the air conditioner too low. So I suggest they open the window when the room is empty.

The room was large TV and Internet was good Bed was very comfy good pillows There was grit on the floor the front mat hadn't been cleaned maybe due to all of the construction in the road close to the Travelodge however regular cleaning /sweeping outside would be beneficial All in all good value for $ Close to eating places chicken restaurant on site Would stay again

Need two bedside reading lamps

The hotel is located just 5 mins. south of Trans. Can. H/way, and set back enough to minimize road traffic noise. Easy to find and park. Loved that the ground floor room had two doors; one leading out into the internal hallway of the hotel, the other acting as a front door so that all luggage could be moved into the room with ease, truly appreciated after a 9 hour drive. Restaurant attached to hotel served a simple but tasty entrees and was good value with very friendly staff. Likewise the staff on reception were great. The room was exceptionally clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and we loved that the hotel has opted for laminate flooring as opposed to standard and often worn down carpeting. No time to try the indoor pool but it looked inviting. I would highly recommend this hotel and in addition it is fairly priced so great value for the money.

For me personally I don't think anything could have been done better than what this hotel already has in motion.

Staff were super friendly! Able to park right outside your door, which is a nice feature. Restaurant, bar and beer store are all attached to the hotel. Waterslide wasn't working, but pool and hot tub were open. Hot tub is HOT! Beds very comfortable, room was spacious.

Would have been nice if breakfast was included. Pool is pretty tiny, don't expect to be doing laps.

The waterslide is awesome. Most hotels with waterslides are chalk full of kids, which is to be expected, but I, a 25 year old man, had the entire place to myself. It's a hidden gem for sure. Staff was friendly, room was 100$ cheaper than Canadinns, beds were comfier than canadinns, pool was less crowded than canadinns.

Travelodge hit all the marks to be honest. In outward appearance, okay, it does appear a bit divey. Specifically the hallways might spook your typical pampered hotel guest. But, if you are concerned mostly with a hotel that hits all the beats, a pool, hot tub, slide, clean rooms with cable, comfy beds - stay here.

The location was good, the room was comfortable, the bed was cozy, I think it had a mattress cover and the room had a microwave and fridge.

There was nothing I didn’t like.
