Since I was bringing my greyhound along on my latest Newfoundland adventure, pet-friendly Out East immediately went to the top of my list. On a previous visit to the province, I'd fallen in love with the Bonne Bay Area, so the property's location in Norris Point was perfect for me. I booked a one-bedroom cottage, which was exactly what I was looking for. Besides the very warm welcome, our cottage was very well-appointed (a full kitchen within a compact space), clean and extremely comfortable. The cottage was also appropriate for folks with mobility issues: there was a ramp up to the door/ open space and wide doorways within/ grab bars in the bathroom, etc.

I can't think of a single negative point.

Jean is the most wonderful hostess! Her friendly smile and welcoming "down east" hospitality is sure to melt the hearts of any traveller! I thorougly enjoyed my stay there and hope to return again! The former teacher's boarding house has a really cosy vintage feel with lovely homemade quilts on the beds and furnitre that can take you back to your childhood! Breakfast here, is a delicious feast fit for any king or queen (including gluten free eaters like me!) Anyone who should decide to make this lovely gem their destination will certainly enjoy their stay with Jean and Tom!! The views are spectacular and don't forget to watch the beautiful evening sunsets either!

For me, this was the perfect accommodation!

The food was excellent, filling and varied. Including daily fruit bowl, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice and a main entree, which included eggs benedict, a breakast wrap and french toast. The room was bright, clean and the matress was a real dream. With a private bath and private entrance, the room was a real delight. The owners are super friendly, knowledgable of the area and things to do.

I do not believe that there was anything that we didn't like or that didn't exceed our expectations.

We rented the 2 bedroom cottage, so much room, all the comforts of home, I would suggest this or the one bedroom as you are separate from the main house. The main house has only a room with no tv and a shared bathroom. The cottages are comfortable, has a bath/shower and a full kitchen. After buying meals out, we went to the local store 2 minutes away and bought food to cook, really enjoyed it.

no air conditioning, was very hot

Milton and Jean keep an excellent B & B. Their place is cozy, clean, attractively decorated and well-located to access the rest of Gros Morne. Jean's breakfasts are delicious with a different menu every morning. Milt even shot a moose the morning we arrived so we got to see how the meat is prepared. Two days later we were able to sample Jean's tasty moose soup! How's that for a genuine introduction to Newfoundland lifestyle!

We arrived into the first week of October. It was a long drive to get to an open restaurant.

The location and view was excellent. It displayed outport Newfoundland at it’s best. Was the neighbors yard in need of attention absolutely was he friendly absolutely. The live and let live associated with Newfoundland was on full display. The hosts were wonderful and the cabin was more than adequate. The location in Gros Morne National Park is super convenient to all it has to offer and view is breathtaking! I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend a visit to anyone with an open mind.

There wasn’t anything that was a deal breaker.

Super convenient location near Gros Morne. Our two-bedroom cottage was big and comfortable. Jean made us delicious banana chocolate chip bread upon our arrival. Her homemade breakfast was also pretty awesome. You can enjoy the breakfast and mingle with other interesting guests. The general store didn't have many healthy options, so if you plan to cook, it's better to get grocery before you arrive in the nearby bigger town. The Black Spruce restaurant nearby was pretty good.

Nothing.

When I booked I had the sense this was True OLD fashioned B&B. And it was! The property was gorgeous grown up naturally and blooming. The twin sisters greeted us just like we were old friends. CLEAN! The breakfast was abundant, with every jam and jelly from the local berries. A meal any vacation, explorer, or hiker would need to start your large day in this amazing part of the world!

The host and hostess are one of the most gentle, warm, welcoming people we have encountered. Full of great advices and packed us lunches twice during our stay so we could enjoy the outdoors uninterrupted. Breakfast was always a different treat, homemade with 6-8 different homemade jams.

The family room (1 double bed and 1 single bed) was a little tight for a teenager having to share 1 room with her parents for 3 days. But the overall experience compensated for her grumpiness 🥰

Great location with beautiful garden flowers, near the sea shores. Walking distance to the Cat Stop pub, Bonne Bay Marine Station, grocery store, and hiking trails. Jean is a fascinating host, friendly and warm, she makes variety of homemade jams from local wild berries that are harvested in the summer, they are exceptionally delicious!!
