Le St-Martin Hotel & Suites

We had requested a king bed and upon arrival, the staff upgraded us to a king bed. The room was very clean and had a great view. Parking on-site was a plus. Very close to the highway.

The room had a musty smell. It could have been the carpets that needed to be refreshed.

The property is nice looking from the outside, with plenty of complimentary parking. It is a well kept property. We arrived quite late and the registration was quick and easy. The attendant gave us a room that was bigger than we had requested and close to the parking lot. The sofa bed was actually very comfortable, so my daughter and I didn’t have to share the king bed. The fridge and microwave were a great addition. Loved the complimentary breakfast! Everything was freshly made with a large variety to suit everyone’s taste. The staff is very attentive and courteous. You feel like you’re in a five star hotel.

The gym is very small. Almost looks like a closet that was repurposed. It does have the essential machines as well as a water fountain. Some towels in the gym would have been nice. The room has a minibar for sale, which overwhelmed the mini fridge. The minibar price list is quite expensive. It would have been nice to have a couple of complimentary water bottles. Especially since we arrived late and tired.

We loved the location, delicious variety breakfast, and helpful staff. We were able to walk down to the restaurants next door (three amigos, A&W, McDonald’s) as well as across the street to the shopping mall Centre Laval. There were also several bus stops right outside the hotel that we walked to and took the bus to downtown Montréal.

The pool was incredibly small for a hotel, I felt like I was being punked when I saw it (see the photos). It’s more the size of a kiddie pool or someone’s backyard pool. We stayed during the week so it didn’t get too crowded but everytime I got in (2 or 3 times) it was dirty with bugs and tons of floating debris. It was hard to avoid the bugs and debris because it kept floating back around. The others things I didn’t like were that they don’t have room service and the room had a bit of a musty smell whenever you entered. We also found several pairs of a previous guest’s swim trunks in the dresser which made us question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned.

Great proximity to Place Bell - we were staying the night for a concert and found we were easily able to walk to and from the venue! The neighborhood feels very safe even towards midnight, and there are plenty of food options nearby. We were offered a free room upgrade and all of the staff we spoke to were incredibly kind and pleasant. The hotel itself is so charming and the rooms are very comfortable. We would stay here again without a doubt and recommend to anyone looking for accommodations in the area!

The elevator to get to certain areas is a little off to the side but I wouldn't say it was that inconvenient for us. However there are a few steps to and from this elevator so I don't believe it would be accessible for guests who require accessibility aids (such as a wheelchair, scooter, etc). There are also a few steps up from the reception towards the breakfast area and I did not notice a ramp or other accessible options. This wasn't an issue for my stay, but likely good to know for other guests considering this location!

We chose that property because it was close to my Doctors appointment twice now. Staff are great with all our needs. It’s clean and it has all we needed: microwave, fridge,safety, parking, close to many restaurants.

My A/C was on but never got cold enough in my room. I mentioned it the next morning to the staff and they said, you should have told us last night we would have found you another room. They did adresse it with the staff concerned. They apologized profusely. That was the only problem we had and it was so minor that the important thing to remember is they did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Next time, I will call the front desk and mention it before my check out!

Very professional staff, elegant common area, many breakfast choices (loved the croissants). The hotel was very quiet and the beds were comfortable.

The pool is really just a small, sitting pool. No DECAF coffee! We also had a problem with the bed frames: they go around the whole bed, and we kept bumping into the corners. Maybe we were in a smaller room that made this more likely, I don't know. But my spouse came away with several bruises. The bathroom fan was quite loud and unavoidable if you turned on the light. Overpriced snacks and drinks for purchase in the room were a bother.

This is a comfortable and charming hotel in a newly developing area of Laval. It is very close to a lot of shopping and entertainment options. Room was nice size and beds very comfortable. Large bathroom.

This hotel is a fair distance from downtown Montreal (45 minutes via Metro) with access to the Metro 1.5km away (but parking is available at the Metro). Area is very commercial but new and open. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. In nice weather there is a patio to eat outside.

My husband and I attended the national bank open tennis on Monday and Tuesday. The hotel is awesome. I just wish it were a bit closer to the subway system. The hotel is close to good shopping and lots of restaurants.

The elevator to the upper floors is a bit of a challenge if you have a luggage cart. You need to change elevators on the third floor to reach the other floors by another elevator down the hall. The room was great except for it had a slight smell of cigarette smoke. We only noticed it when we entered the room from the hallway. After a few minutes we didn’t notice it anymore, otherwise I would have contacted the front desk.

Luxurious rooms and bathrooms, and the whole building has a very upscale look and feel - very nice. Pretty chateau design on the outside. Very clean and comfortable. I didn't want to leave. Good central location in Laval. I would stay here again without question, if in the area.

The outdoor pool was not open in mid-May. Should be open. Also, no little bistro or restaurant on property for regular guests, though they seemed to be catering food for a conference while we were there.

As soon as you enter the lobby you're greeted by a wonderful scent - I had to ask the receptionist for the name of the air freshener, it's that amazing! Decor is very nice, you can tell there is effort put into the upkeep. Pool is shallow so if you have young kids it's ideal. It's also heated with patio dining chairs and lounge chairs for relaxing. Shower pressure is really good and tub is spacious. Bed comfortable.

Room was small but we made it work - we were a group of four (two adults and two kids). Breakfast was just okay, eggs, different types of bread, croissants, cereal, sweet breads. It is included so I am not complaining, it was just okay though.
