1.Friendly staff, the front desk & morning shift bar tender really warm my heart a lot, always lend me a hand im really appreciated it. 2.Good location i.Near metro ii.Near the Kunming old street just 10 minutes walking distance iii. Near green lake park, & there is a few instagrammable cafe surrounded. 3. Healing Environment, fresh air & full of natural plant & rocks. 4. Can make many friends & meet people from many different cities, 1st day I touched down there I already meet 2 friends from different city they accompany me to Shuangqiao Night Market with the front desk staff as our tour guard.

We stayed at Kunming Upland international Youth Hostel for four nights and it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were big enough and the bathroom was also nice. There is a nice pub/restaurant where you can have your meals that offers both local food and international food. It is very close to the town centre and to one of the most important and beautiful parks in Kunming. In general we really enjoyed our stay and would like to go back in case we go back to Kunming.

Its a short walking distance from Metro Station, so its considered a good location, it's also not too far from the popular lake in Kunming. Old town also can walk around 20-30 minutes or take the sharing bycle. The hostel has a nice cafe.

No elevator, if you have a big luggage, it would be a challenge, check in is on the first floor , they will help you to bring up, check out , you do on your own.

The private room is small, but cosy. I wish they had more space for luggage, though. The location is superb, just by Green Lake, close to subway. The price is awesome!!! Very cost-effective. The common spaces are great!

The hostel is sooo noisy!! All the time there are doors banging and noise from the other guests until late hours. They didn’t opt out on cleaning the room every day, unnecessary change of towels. I had a problem with my card key, it didn’t open the room and it took a while to fix it.

We had a really great time at Kunming Upland International Hostel! The location was perfect! The bedroom was spacious and clean. The staff speaks fluent English, and they can help you with buses, restaurants, etc.

The breakfast doesn't include drinks like coffee or tea, so you have to pay for them separately. We stayed in other hostels in China where coffee and tea were included with breakfast and were free all day!

One of the staff was really friendly and helpful. The lounge was a good place to meet other travellers.

The first room given was bad. Basin tap was loose, bathroom was mouldy. Room was facing the male shared toilet and it was dirty and noisy as well. We asked for a change and after some insistence, was given a change at a higher floor and quieter and cleaner room. A complete difference from the first room.

Location is an easy walk from Huashan West Rd train station. Head out exit D then DOWN the hill. The hostel road is on your right. Also easy walk to Green Park. The metro is a fantastic way to get to bus station and then Stone Forest. Restaurant was great! Big serves, variety and cheap cold beer. And the best mojito FYI.

The walls in the rooms could use a thorough clean.

Highly recommend this hostel! I was upgraded to a deluxe private room with breakfast included. It felt like a lot of care and thought went into the room, with a cute view of the courtyard, bottled water and tea. Breakfast was amazing! The hostel is in a great location for exploring Emerald Lake, Wenlin Street and the ‘old street’ and main shopping malls - as well as close to a subway station. Staff were super helpful whenever needed, and the place had a happy vibe overall.

Friendly staff and very helpful. Also had a nice kitchen that has a good variety of food to choose from. Location was very good. Nearby subway station and a beautiful green lake park within 5 minutes walk.

The room was a bit small and the double bed didn't allow both of us space to get off the bed when we need to go to the bathroom.

very friendly staff. helped with all questions. the outside area was nice to relax and had a nice breeze in June. roof top sunset area waa beautiful to enjoy and have a beer. not far from down town but quite.enough at night. cheapish drinks

room 104 was really stuffy day and night. hotter than outside and heard dorms were cooler on higher levels.
