Not good dinner options in the restaurant. Only two and very expensive restaurants. Considering that the area doesn’t have many options nearby I believe the hotel could have a casual dining alternative.

Generally, Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao West, is a good property but it was the icing on the cake with the manager's relationship with their customer giving 10 out of 10 to Mr JAMES. Thank you for the smooth services through out my stay.

the Wi-Fi was terrible

Very helpful staff, assisted with every aspect. Shuttle bus available for the exhibition we were attending that provided a drop off and pick up service.

Breakfast was good. Selection of continental food was ok. The staff were super friendly and helpful, going out of the way to help guests.

The wifi was not very good.

This hotel is located 20 minutes away from Hongqiao airport and railway station, which is great. Within 900 metres, you've got Papa John's, McDonald's, Starbucks, and an incredibly expensive Mexican restaurant (as well as a wine shop and multiple local Chinese restaurants); we were able to walk down for all our meals. The hotel is professional and classy. The staff all speak English and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The room had a gorgeous view of the local area. The beds were good; there were two types of pillows (hard and soft). The internet was fast. The breakfast was a mixture of Chinese and Western food, and both types were delicious. The manager called me within an hour of checkout to make sure everything was good. I would be happy to stay there again... but...

The location was poor. It's still a 17 minute car ride from the nearest metro stop and it's just off a major street that has a median, meaning the taxis have to go around the block every time they need to get to the hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel, though. A hotel near the railway station costs 800 RMB per night, but is on the metro line. This hotel was 300 per night, but a 30 RMB taxi ride from the nearest metro stop... when I tallied the cost, it was still cheaper to stay here (though we lost travel time in always having to taxi to the metro).

Overall the hotel is clean and comfortable to stay. I like the bed with soft and hard pillow to choose.

The location is not convenient for dinner when back to hotel at night. The only place to have dinner is either Japanese or Chinese food in the hotel. There are no restaurants nearby. The buffet breakfast is not good value for money. With the high room rate, there are no fresh fruits like apple, banana or pear available except cut fruits like watermelon.
