The private bungalow was amazing! The room was huge and beautiful. The pool was a refreshing delight as was the staff. Ricky was welcoming and charismatic. He was on top of everything and extremely helpful. All the staff was sweet as pie. The restaurant attached was awesome. It's perfectly located in the middle of the strip. It's not beachfront but with everything they offer its perfectly alright.

The only thing I would say would be the information desk was a little slow to respond but that was ok. Just if you are looking for information message well in advance.

The hotel and its grounds are simply beautiful. It is small and intimate. We loved watching the wildlife from our balcony and the pool was terrific. The staff, in particular Ricky the concierge, were amazing. It’s a short walk to a small supermarket and lots of great restaurants, as well as having a bar and restaurant on the grounds.

Lovely pool area - enjoyed eating breakfast there. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room with great service. Lots of wildlife to spot in the grounds including a sloth, monkeys and an armadillo. Good gluten free options at breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the table games provided in the restaurant.

The music in the main restaurant was a bit loud in the evening - with an annoying beat. This improved when the live entertainment started around 7pm. There are a lot of uneven steps which are dimly lit at night - this may be a problem for some guests.

The hotel grounds was beautiful! It was conveniently located - close to Manuel Antonio National Park and we took the local bus to Quepos. There were restaurants and shops nearby (liquor store, supermarket, souvenirs). We were initially a bit nervous about the made to order breakfast vs buffet style since we had 7-8am pickups for excursions but the hotel accommodated us by preparing breakfasts ready for us. Lastly, I appreciated the friendliness and responsive of all staff! They were always so helpful.

The only thing was not having ventilation in the bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ecotica. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. We were kindly given a room upgrade and loved the bungalow, which had a beautiful decor, comfortable bed, lovely jungle surroundings. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The common areas very well kept and beautiful. We loved hanging by the pool and saw so much wildlife from there! The on-site bar/restaurant offered good food and a lovely atmosphere, with live music and games.

There was loud music in the evening coming from the bars around the hotel, but it never went on until too late and didn't impact our sleep. We were there in low season though and I am not sure how noisy it gets during the most popular holiday periods.

Beautiful hotel amidst the trees, in which we stayed at a private bungalow. Our room was very large, with a nice terrace overlooking the pool and the surrounding trees and stream. Well functioning air conditioning, large bed, great shower and very relaxed atmosphere. Had to adjust to the quite high temperature of the water in the pool, but lovely swimming pool area from which every evening you can check out lots of monkeys climbing the trees around the area. Location was ok, on the way to Manuel Antonio National Park, and driving distance to the town of Quepos. Some restaurants and shops nearby, and also nice bar/restaurant and little casino area adjacent to the hotel.

Amazing hotel set in the beauty of the natural flora of the area. Much of the animal life you might expect to see in the nearby National Park is in the hotel grounds. Whilst enjoying the lovely blue pool, we saw squirrel and white face monkeys, as well as howlers. Macaws are nesting in the trees, we saw a humming bird close by from our breakfast table as well as other birds during the day, fire flies, and toads in the evening. The staff are really cheery, willing to help and Mosses made the best Pina Colada cocktail. The hotel is clean, rooms serviced daily, aircon, fridge and coffee machine in room, beds comfy. Location is 30 minute walk to Manual Antonio National Park and beaches. Walking back is up a steep hill, could be testing for some but we liked it. Would definitely rebook if ever in Costa Rica again.

Nothing, good setting, good food, excellent staff. Oh, there are a lot of steps to some rooms as hotel is set on hillside, though you can walk round from the front to avoid most of them.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. Such a beautiful hotel. Such amazing decor, we loved our room and the pool area was superb. Surrounded by wildlife we sat in the pool and watched monkeys, parrots and toucans in the trees above us. The staff were amazing, we were welcomed with a lovely drink and staff were so helpful and speedy. The location is great, we could walk to the bars and restaurants around us :) we woke up to monkeys running up the wires outside of our balcony. Moses was really great, such a happy guy and stayed calm handling lots of guests at once!

The bar Yolo attached to the hotel can be quite loud! It also has a casino and a bit of a party vibe we weren't so keen for. (quite different to the hotel itself which is more chilled)

Nice hotel with really friendly staff who let us keep our bags in the office as we were checking out late. You'll see loads of monkeys hanging around! Rooms are clean and reasonably sized with nice balconies.

Not really a complaint per say, more a word of warning for Byblos (and hotels in Manuel Antonio in general) which is the location. The vast majority of the hotels are not on the beach/ national park area, but rather up the hill. If you are not renting a car, you can either walk (fine going down, not so fine coming up), take the bus (cheap but very infrequent) or take a taxi (a rip off in my opinion, 4000 CRC Vs 320 on the bus)...

We had a superb stay at ECOTICA. Location was great - directly across from a supermarket, plenty of restaurants and cafe's, a bank and other amenities. Staff were lovely and attentive - helpful with booking taxis, setting up sim cards and other questions we had. Rooms were comfortable and clean - far exceeded our expectations, especially the bathroom (better than the photo I saw on Bookings.com). The pool area was great to hang out at. We felt like we were in the jungle - we saw sloths, plenty of monkeys, beautiful birds and other wildlife.

Breakfast was lovely but lean. We had to choose one menu item as opposed to a buffet. Food at their on site restaurant was a bit pricey in comparison to other places in the area. Also we got there at the start of tourist season so it was very quiet - nothing they could do about it but would have been nicer with some more guests around to interact with.
