The Hotel is a historic Kro, very charming - our room was very large with windows to the front and side. The staff at the reception was very friendly. It’s just a short stroll to Fredensborg castle and It’s gardens.

As a group just had had breakfast it seemed we just got the leftovers. There was not enough hot water for tea - and no waiter was around. A nice touch would be coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Restaurant and service in the bistro was outstanding and amongst the very best I have experienced on all my varied extensive travels. The house wines by the glass chosen by our server were exquisite. The best Riesling I have tasted and I lived in Vienna for five years. Helpful staff all around. Clean comfortable, well appointed and right next to Fredensborg Castle and it's gardens and a short walk to lakeside. Great cycling around and 15 mins drive from the wonderful, world class Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Outstanding

The location and the restaurant are great, and I wished we had more time to explore the park, enjoy the garden and views. All staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking. We really enjoyed our stay.

Although nice, the room could benefit from newer or restored floors. We could not figure out how to switch off the underfloor heating of the bathroom, which is an issue with the current energy crisis. The TV didn't work properly and may need some attention.

Very plush hotel close to the Castle/Palace. Larger hotel than expected and plenty of space, not crowded. Evening meal was first class and price reflected that. Plenty of walks available on your doorstep. Local town was quite basic and not a lot to choose from for things to do. Better suited for seeing the Palace and going for walks. Would recommend

Great location near the Palace. We stayed in the annex across the street which had a large set of stairs and no elevator. There was no A/c, but there was a fan. Very good dinner in the restaurant although pricey. Extensive breakfast in a lively setting. Plenty of parking on site.

The rooms need a kettle and/or coffee machine.

This hotel has very nice rooms, and an elevator, although a slow one. The dining room and outdoor dining area is very pretty.

The dining opportunity is limited at this hotel, apparentlyIt because of lack of staffing. There is no outside dining for dinner, and the entire dining room appears to be operated by two people. We stayed for three nights. There was no Opportunity to dine on a Saturday night because of special events. There is a tremendous outdoor space that could be better utilized by providing heaters and a dining possibility for guests staying at the hotel.

A lovely stay in an historic setting. Perfect view of the castle and surrounding hills, we recommend walking down to the lake. Great breakfast in the impressive dining area. Good toiletries, quiet and clean room. Nice staff! We had a good night's sleep here.

The shower handle let out water only with a very hard pressure. The rain shower was better though.

The location is truly wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the inner garden is very cozy to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Very good restaurant overall and we would come back.

Small details were missing... Some cups and teacups at breakfast were dirty and it seemed too much trouble to get a kettle of hot water at our table in the morning. Also encountered some undercooked potatoes at dinner, but we'll let that slide. Not a deal breaker, but for this price per night, you sort of expect more...

The location of the property was amazing, the staff where friendly and the style of the property was very calming.

the rooms where a little small for what you are paying for. the bathrooms where clean but there was a fair amount of mould around all the silicone and hair on a few surfaces.

Breakfast was both morning very fresh and varied. Had dinner on a couple of evenings as was a bit out of town, the menu was small but changed daily and the produce, execution and presentation was excellent. A great family run hotel.
