The bed was so comfortable! Lovely old hotel on the river, it felt like I was in a living museum. Nice rooftop terrace as well and very helpful staff. It’s in one of the few nice areas of the city so felt a lot safer than most places.
Minor point- the downstairs area is so old and pristine, it kind of feels like you can’t really sit there and relax. The staff were so eager to serve breakfast all at once that the eggs went cold as I was still getting through the fruit. Maybe just wait and then ask people what they would like, to avoid this in future!

Great location - las Preñas and Malecón were safe and interesting for tourists. Easy to go out for meals and coffee. Amazing staff who gave personalised and very helpful service- including organising tours. Room was comfortable, if unusual. Air conditioning was good too - necessary in the heat. Courtyard and terrace with a great view!
Stairs! Including some that felt precarious. The amount of decoration was overwhelming at first but everything was clean and the ensuite was modern if oddly designed.

Our suite had amazing views as it was set high up on it's own on the 6th floor. All of the staff, especially Solange and Angelica, did their best to look after us and ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Our booking had been mistakenly accepted for a weekend when the hotel was hosting a wedding on our first night, a Saturday. We were the only guests not part of the wedding and, as such, our movements within the communal parts of the hotel were restricted for around 24 hours. There were over 100 steps between our room and the outside door. We were fine with this but others may want to consider this when choosing their room.

Angelica was very responsive with communication before we arrived. She arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport at about 11 p.m.. Our driver was waiting with our names and a welcome. Our bed was very comfortable, we slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Day staff arranged our transport to Cuenca. We felt completely safe and relaxed. The area is just beautiful and charming. Wonderful stay. 2 nights.

Beautiful hotel located in a historic villa just at the Guayaquil waterfront. The owners did an amazing job renovating the building, while at the same time keeping its vintage spirit. The stay here is worth it just for admiring the magnificent architecture. But despite that you will experience amazing service, perfectly kept rooms, beautiful views from the hotel's terrace and amazing breakfasts. This is THE place to stay when you come to Guayaquil.

The hotel is amazing as it is an old mansion so it looks like sleeping in a museum or an old colonial house. Having said that, there is no elevator to go to the room upstairs (which btw are in the newest part of the building, not th ehistorical one), also room upstairs have a airconditioning which is very noisy. We intially booked for the most larger room which was the one on the 5th floor but then they offered us to switch for the room in the 1st historical floor. This was a much better choice and the aircon there was relatively new so not noisy. Not sure why the room upstairs is considered more upscale...breakfast was ok not a lot of options. The experience of being in an historical place is unique but I think they should improve few things like security (my windows were not closing properly, although the hotel is in a barrio serrado). Location is good to explore the city. However there is one street only to reach the hotel with taxi and it is a little bit complicated to get out of there as it is a two ways narrow lane.

Location on the Malecon was great. Staff spoke wonderful English and we're so nice and helpful. It was a unique old building.
The shower was a little rough, hot and cold water turned from freezing to scalding frequently and was not able to control it. Also just be aware of lots of steps and no elevator so taking luggage is a little bit of a challenging work out. Parking is near by, short walk but not onsite.

Breakfast was very nice; they adjusted the time even to our early departure. The Hotel is very original with old decorations on the walls and ceilings and interiors of a time past. It is special! The location is just perfect to walk along the "Malacon" and to visit the old town of Guayaquil. Close to the airport The best is the staff: they are not only very, very, very friendly; they organized a transfer in the middle of the night (due to late internationa arrival) to the Hotel, there was even somebody waiting for us at 2 am!!!

The staff is exceptional and went out of there way to be helpful to me. I am so grateful to them. I wanted the colonial charm of this building and the art, and it exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect, right at the Malecon, a safe area to walk any time of day or night, that is lively in the evening, with activities through the day and night, but the hotel itself was peaceful at night, with street noise not reaching me. There was so much to look at inside the hotel, a romantic, royal setting. I loved my view. I loved my room. I was very happy.
