Crowne Plaza Airport, an IHG Hotel

I booked a night at the hotel for my 12hr layover and it was perfect! The hotel is close to the airport and there is a shuttle that picks you up at arrivals zone 4. The pool was lovely and the room was clean.

I had the hardest time getting any answers when sending messages through booking and regular email prior to my arrival. None of my correspondence received any replies which was very disappointing. I didn't get any answers to the simple question. The question was regarding the shuttle pick up. All I wanted to know if the shuttle comes regularly to the airport, or if I need to schedule a pick up ahead of time. 🙄 I ended up scrolling through their reviews to finally see someone post about the pick up and where to go. Arrivals zone 4 and they come regularly

Room very comfortable.

Hotel failed (through Booking.com messaging) to answer questions about their airport shuttle. All they had to say was 'On arrival at the airport, exit to the pickup area and (for terminal 2) cross to the central island of the pickup area. The shuttle has the hotel name on the side and runs every ?? minutes'.

The room was quiet and spacious, which is why we always stay here when we drop into Panama City.

The lack of information through Booking.com prior to arrival. There is no information regarding the shuttle, which I think is very poor, especially as the schedule has now changed and is every hour rather than every half hour due to the new terminal and only having 1 shuttle bus. We had to get a taxi on our way to the property as we waited 45 minutes, having no idea what was going on and why the shuttle hadn't arrived like it had done on our previous visits. If they took the time to send a message through Booking.com like a lot of hotels do and explained the timetable then it would have saved us the $10 rip off taxi ride.

Love the extremely close proximity to the PTY Airport, and the free, hourly shuttle to the airport.

I wish there were more restaurants, etc. near the hotel. In the absence of such, you are nearly forced to eat at their on-site restaurant. The food and service at this restaurant is fine, but knowing that we'll also have breakfast here the next day, it would be nice to have an option. I don't love the breakfast offerings. They have a wide variety of foods available, but the eggs (my choice for the protein boost before a day of travel) as well as the side potatoes are full of onions and green peppers (NOT what I want to eat before a day of travel) and the side meat is usually hot dogs or something that looks like that. I would much prefer more plain protein options (with add-ins available for those guests who want more).

The hotel is so near the airport that you feel like it is inside the airport. The shuttle is there every hour. We had dinner there (not complimentary) and felt that it was good. Every service person there was very polite and nice.

When you arrive to the lobby by the shuttle, there are not enough clerks to service more than 15 people at the same time... At night, the restaurant was full of people, and the service did their best...

The hotel is really close to the airport, so that makes it very convenient for an overnight stay, like ours. We liked the idea of the free shuttle, but we ended up paying a taxi to get to the hotel as we didn't want to wait. The room was as described.

We did use the shuttle to the airport (4:50am) and it was packed! Three people were standing. I reserved a room with a king size bed and got one with two queen beds. It was too late and I was very tired to complain at that hour. Restaurant service during dinner was very poor. They got our order wrong, but the waiter/waitress was never around. We had to wait a lot even to pay the bill.

Very convenient to the airport, and we appreciated that the restaurant was open late as we arrived late and very hungry! Food was good (depending on what you order- the Panamanian food was delicious). Rooms were clean and nice, staff were friendly, and there is a beautiful pool that we unfortunately did not have time to enjoy.

Communication with the hotel about arrival was poor. I sent a couple messages via Booking.com to ask about where to find the airport shuttle, but never received a reply (one at booking, and another several hours before arrival). Luckily, we spotted the airport shuttle when we were looking for the taxi stand. The airport shuttle is free and it's only about a 5 min. drive.

Everything was great, dinner and breakfast staff extremely friendly and professional. Plenty of choices, food choices weren't over the top but good for a midrange airport hotel of this type and great flavors and very fresh. Free shuttle was convenient. I've been living in Panama for 10 years and English isn't even my first language, but since I look like I just arrived here, some people insist talking English to me, but that's understandable, I'll always stay a foreigner. The 24 hour Gym was great and well equipped. Most hotels economize on the gym area. I want to emphasize again how excellent most of the staff was, that is very very rare in Panama!

The AC was way too loud and the rooms were pretty basic, no roomservice nor minibar but they had everything you need, and the overall experience was very good anyway.

This is a nice place to stay. It was pretty and brightly lit. The bed was comfortable. The airport shuttle was convenient! the restaurant was good for a late dinner and breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. it is a comfortable place to stay before or after a flight.

it is not close to anything else besides the airport— which is fine because we chose it to be by the airport— but it limits options of dining and activities if you’re into that. Still, the on-site restaurant was pretty good!

Airport transport is very convenient, although a predictable posted online schedule would be great; maybe most guests wouldn't do the walk, but the nearby mall was convenient for me; buffets were fine (had dinner & breakfast).

Airport transport schedule is not posted on the website, nor indicated where to catch it; papaya should always be an option at the breakfast buffet fruit offerings; maybe promote the nearby Metro line more, especially since without a car rental, the hotel is rather remote.
