All of the usual expectations you have when making a booking were more than met. Cleanliness, helpful professional staff, great breakfast etc. What made our stay so exceptional was how the hotel staff, particularly Isabelle and Jean Luc (forgive me if I got that wrong - you know who you are), helped resolve what could have been disastrous for the remainder of our holiday - and we were only half way through! On arrival we discovered we had left our passports in our previous hotel in Ypres - only a two and a half hours drive away. No problem - Isabelle arranged for her parents - who were visiting from Ypres for the weekend - to collect our passports from the other hotel and bring them to us. You have no idea how grateful we were! Then on checkout two days later we couldn't find our car keys!! After thorough checking and rechecking - Isabelle and Jean Luc again helping while keeping us calm - our room, unpacking and repacking our baggage there was no joy. Isabelle then rang the restaurant we had dined in the previous evening. It was shut. Jean Luc then drove me to the restaurant. We retraced our steps, checked through the door and window of the restaurant - no sign of any keys. A lady approached who had keys to the restaurant, opened up, rang the owner and found the keys! How lucky were we. Isabelle and Jean Luc went well above and beyond. It's easy to run an establishment when everything is going well. The real test is when problems arise. Neither Isabelle or Jean Luc needed to do what they did but without them our holiday would have been very different. They are both enormously kind caring individuals. Thank you so much.
NOTHING!

Well located to visit the Somme. Lovely bedroom, clean with good facilities. Decor very nice. Nice lounge bar. Continental breakfast. Lovely stay.
Although there was a good choice, breakfast was rather unorganised and on the first morning lots of items were missing: plates, breakfast tea, milk, croissants. Had to find staff to get these replaced. We were also not told that eggs and bacon could be ordered - found that out from Trip Advisor. More organisation and communication required which would vastly improve the experience. More breakfast tea and milk needed for the tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom.

We were a Group of Professional Motorcyclists (Blood Bikers from Sussex) and nothing was too much trouble for our Hosts. The Reception staff were friendly and engaging and spoke very good English. The rooms were large and comfortable and spotlessly clean and well equipped. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed but the staff helped us get pizza's delivered (among the best Pizza's I've ever tasted), but the bar was open. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked to order. Nicely located for a 20 minute stroll into town. We will definitely stay here again. Excellent!
Nothing could have been better. We all enjoyed our brief stay here.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff were very good, even advising me on places to visit. My main reason for my visit was to go to the various WW1 memorials nearby and the location was perfect for this, also just a short walk into Albert town centre. They also allowed me to park my motorbike in a secure room at the rear of the hotel, a big plus for me. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was usual continental fare but was very nice and varied.
Nothing really, the only thing I wasn't keen on was the steak I ordered (medium) was a bit too rare for my taste, but it may just be the way the French do it.

I would thoroughly recommend Le Royale Picardie Hotel in Albert. The hotel is well placed for tourists visiting the historic WW1 Somme battlefields. We were warmly welcomed by Madame, who is English. The rooms are a good size, neat, clean and comfortable. Although there is no lift the rooms are on the first floor which is accessed by a short flight of stairs. Tea and coffee making facilities are included in the rooms. There is a large car park. A very generous breakfast buffet was provided with hot food available as an extra option. The hotel restaurant was closed but Madame recommended a couple of restaurants in Albert. We had an excellent dinner at Le Corner's Pub near the Basilica in Albert. Do not be put off by the slightly curious name. This is a classic French Brasserie and owner Yannick welcomes all his guests. For military minded visitors the Somme Museum just beside the Basilica is recommended. One word of advice to potential visitors to Albert. There is no taxi service (or Uber) in the town. If visitors need a taxi it will have to travel from Amiens to Albert, which is 40 minutes away. If visitors arrive at Albert Bray Airport Le Royale Picardie Hotel will collect you given sufficient notice. It appeared impossible to arrange a rental car either at the airport or in the town. The car rental agencies are in Amiens.

This Hotel was ideally located for our group. We, a group of seven, had three days exploring the First World War memorials. The staff at the hotel were pleasant and polite and gave us a warm welcome and looked after us with great care and style without being over fussy. Large bar and lounge where we enjoyed three evenings watching world cup rugby. The breakfasts were excellent and offered a variety continental style. This hotel has just been refurbished and under new management. They have plans to open their own restaurant for dinners. We walked into town on the three nights we stayed and there was an excellent choice. Reception at the Hotel kindly booked us in to the local restaurants. Isabelle was particularly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. At the end we did not wish to leave. Sean and his History Group.
There was nothing we did not like. It was perfect. Book or miss a gem.

Great staff, very helpful. Lovely room and very clean.
They currently don’t offer an evening meal, we could have a platter of meat and cheese. I think the option of food in the evening would be a nice option to have. However the breakfast is really nice and plentiful. They catered for my gluten intolerance. Thank you.

Quiet Position out of town. Helpful staff - they recommended and booked a restaurant in town for us, which was a great place to eat. Good choice at breakfast including offer of bacon and eggs. Plenty of parking. Spacious well appointed room with very comfortable bed.
Pity no evening restaurant. Lift to upper floors would be useful. Was woken twice in early hours by other guests returning noisily to their rooms - not hotel’s fault though.

I had been traveling all day, I didn't feel like it anymore and it was early evening. I looked for a hotel nearby via Booking. I found Picardie, booked and did the last kilometers. Received a warm welcome, they even turned on the light in my room, turned up the heating, etc. etc. Very attentive! The kitchen was already closed, but they still made the effort to make something. All that plus a nice glass of local craft beer quickly made up for the tiring day. I'd love to stop there again next time!

Friendly knowledgeable staff. Especially Isabella who knows a lot about the WW1
The restaurant is not working (31 Aug). So we walked to town, where we really enjoyed the ambience of the town. Some of the staff team spoke very little English, although they always did their best. Albert a small French town, so facilities are not as good as Arras, but you get a better opportunity to get to see the real France.
