We first stayed at the hotel around 5 years ago, and this time the welcome was just as warm as the last time. Super friendly reception and happy to accomodate our request for rooms close together for our kids. We had car trouble when we arrived this time and the hotel very kindly agreed to let us leave our car in their enclosed car park for the week while we arranged alternative transport. The breakfast is great and staff couldn't be friendlier.

This hotel is well situated, our ground floor room was a good size, high ceilings and beautiful large windows. Very clean and well presented. The bed was very comfortable and the shower very good. The outdoor space and garden is a little haven. We liked the secure parking. The staff were helpful and approachable. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

It would have been helpful to have information about exactly where to park, a small map of the exact location of the parking area and the key pad code for entry before arrival. On arriving we had no information about where to park and ended up parking on the street in a local residents parking space whilst we found out where to put the car. My husband has a disability and this made our arrival at the hotel stressful. Great that dogs are permitted, we brought our dog - bad that some dog owners are not picking up after their dogs - sadly, perhaps dogs should be banned from the lawn area.

We received a lovely welcome from the owner, who had a great sense of humour. Peaceful garden with birdsong to enjoy a drink from the hotel bar. Our room was spotlessly clean with modern decor and views overlooking the garden. Secure off street parking available. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of restaurants and bars open especially as it was Sunday. The breakfast was plentiful and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

The reception greeted us at the lobby with a swift check-in. Our room was on the second floor, and was neat and tidy. We stayed for two nights and it was pleasant

There was no lift at the property so we had to carry our suitcase up the stairs. Fortunately we had small luggage so it was manageable.

The parking was perfect, secure and off street. The gardens and grounds were lovely offering a beautiful space to sit outside and relax. The location is perfect for easy walking into the very nice town.

There isn’t a lift so you do have to go up stairs to the rooms. In our room the lighting was non existent over the luggage area and there were no fans at all. We loved that it only had a shower but unfortunately the base was very slippery to get in and out of.

The owner/manager of the hotel was probably the best we have ever met. He was very helpful with a great sense of humour. The car park in the garden is very spacious and free of charge. The breakfast was copious. I had requested a bath in our bathroom rather than a shower and got it!

We would have liked coffee-making facilities in the room.

Decor modern. Clean.

The bathroom in our ‘superior double room’ was very stylish & clean but lacked shelves for placing personal items that you usually want to ‘park ‘park’ in a bathroom (washing, shaving items etc) - also the openness of the walk-in shower meant it was difficult not to wet the bathroom floor . But overall a lovely stylish and very clean bathroom.

This is the second time we have stayed in this property during 2021. The new owners were equally pleasant as the previous owners, had a good sense of humour and were very helpful. The secure off street parking was excellent and the hotel was very dog friendly as the owners have their own dog. We would definitely recommend this as a pre or post Eurotunnel stop over and there are some really good local restaurants within easy walking distance.

The lack of an elevator could be an issue for the less mobile guests especially if you are allocated a room on the top floor but I am sure if you made a special request for a room on the first floor the new owners would certainly try to assist.

Excellent secure parking , which was essential for us. The room was comfy and warm on a cold winter night. The bedroom was clean with beautiful linen on a very comfortable super king sized bed. The breakfast was extremely good and there is a bar . The staff were super helpful. The concierge rang around to secure us a restaurant reservation. We will definitely be staying again on our return trip . We will book a garden room next time , which obviously is going to overlook the quiet courtyard and garden . It is five minutes from the motorway too. Definitely a pleasant stay .

The bedroom decor was slightly dated but I could not fault anything else .
