- beautiful building - breakfast area in the park is dreamy - the charcuterie and cheese board and wine selection from the bar in the evening was good value for money (more the food than the wine) - parking on site - breakfast was good and complete

- swimming pool a bit tiny and unkempt (dead insects all over, no bar service) - some unpleasant noises in the room at night (first night there was some constant water dripping noise from the - turned off - A/C unit, last night a constant electric buzz coming from the light on the ceiling) - staff were OK but not too welcoming

Great location. Very near the motorway (and while you can hear it, it is not annoying) and close to both Beaune and the Cote d’Or wineries. The staff are wonderful, cheerful and happy to make your stay comfortable. They do a good breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs etc. No restaurant in the hotel but there is the possibility to be served a “planche” with cheese, paté and bread, in the evening - we enjoyed this a lot when we had had a 3 course lunch one day.

The grounds are beautiful but could be maintained a bit better. And it would be nice if cheese or a different snack were available earlier (the “planche” is wonderful but available only at 18:30). But these are minor suggestions. We had a wonderful stay and choose this hotel again if ever in the area

This was our third stay at Chateau de Challanges. The new owners are extremely professional, friendly and welcoming. They are gradually renovating and modernising this beautiful historic property, while maintaining many original features. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, and is due to be refurbished, so we were not surprised that the decor was not very modern. The newly revamped swimming pool area is lovely, providing a larger sunbathing area with modern seating. Breakfast is very good and there is very easy access to Beaune and the wine route, as well as to the motorway.

The little castle can be easily reached from the motorway. The noise of the traffic is minor. The castle itself is very nicely restored with high quality furniture and materials. Parking available, small pool, garden is romantic but requires some professional treatment. Breakfast rich and tasty with fruit and the full basics in a beautiful room. Service very polite and friendly.

Room 208 was very small (standard) and with a bathroom so tiny that a bigger person can hardly sit on the loo. We had " du ordeur de cannalisation" in the bathroom. Tray wirh watercooker nice, but where is the plug to put it in??? TV nice but not connected to internet, do you can't netflix. Bar nice, but no warm meal offered. I recommend as owner to sleep once yourself in every single room on offer to go through all the details. You will soon discover what is not working. Breakfast has saussuge and cold (?) Hardboiled eggs but no scrambled eggs.

We had a spacious room and it was very quiet. The grounds were lovely and the afternoon drinks service on the lawn was very pleasant in the sunshine. You could also have breakfast outside on the lawn which was a really nice touch. We didn't use the pool area but it looked clean and inviting. There were extra towels in the room to use by the pool.

There is no restaurant on site and the bar closes at 10.00 - so if you come back later than this there is no chance of a drink and a chat. There is no real lounge area.

Comfy beds. Good pillows. Good aircon. Super doggie friendly. Great owner who helped us with our pet. Vanessa is amazing. Great room if pavilion. Electric car charger facility.

Too many plants near veranda meant lots of mosquitos hiding. Same in pool area. Hard to control but got lots of bites sitting outside. Room service did not make beds on some days as must be pressed for time. Distance from Beaune too far to walk. A shuttle bus would be good as must have a car. Hard to do a wine tasting and drive back to hotel.

The staff makes this place a 10/10. We showed up woefully unprepared. Late (due to a delayed train), unaware that reservations are a must, without means for transportation around Beaune. The staff stayed open late, so we could check-in after hours. Gave us a list of things to do around town. And lastly, called cabs for us to get in and out of town, including having the hosts husband drive us to the train station after we were unable to book one of the few taxis in town. This place is amazing. The definition of hospitality.

Absolutely beautiful property set in the picturesque French Countryside. The Chateau itself was like something out of a postcard - stunning entrance, lounge and interiors. The property had a lovely pool and expansive gardens which you could sit and take in the surroundings. Our room was comfortable and cosy, with the shower inside the bedroom. As we were there for our Honeymoon, the staff congratulated us on arrival and we were delighted by the swan towels and chocolates they had left on our bed!

Everything, room lovely and clean, great AC, lovely pool. Staff very helpful and informative. Breakfast best we've had whilst touring France. First night we were too tired to go out, so we opted for the mixed platter available 25 euros, well worth the money. More than enough for 2. Pates, cheeses, breads, all local. Also has a bar until 10, again reasonably priced.

Mosquitos but not a lot the Chateau can do about that.

Very nice hotel. We were in the newly build rotunde rooms which were great for a family of 5 as the room where together in a separate building. Parking facilities were very good and spacious as well even for a large SUV. Staff was super nice, helped us with dinner reservations and recommendations.

Close to the motorway which you can hear pretty loudly when you are at the pool. Breakfast was okay but not really good value for your money
