Beautiful old house in historic Blois. We were in the room at the top of the house which had amazing river and city views. The decor was very tasteful but also comfortable and relaxing. Friendly host. Excellent breakfast. We would definately stay again.

The location for this property was great. We walked down to the town in the evening (and rain!) for dinner and found many places to choose from. Note that it is quite a steep hill to get down to the town, incase you have walking difficulties - otherwise it just adds to the fun of the evening! Right next to the church. Breakfast was a lovely, Continental selection and the host accommodating, with good English.

We found the parking, in the car park opposite, to be restrictive with timings - we paid (which was cheap) until 9.45am. We just moved the car when we went to do the Chateau the following morning. It was opposite the door to the b&b so very convenient.

Our stay here was exceptional and we wish we could have stayed longer! The host Armelle was very friendly and helpful, even when we got stuck in traffic coming from Paris and arrived later than planned. The house is absolutley beautiful, and in a perfect location right next to the cathedral and an easy walk to the main part of town. We had a room in the attic, it was very clean and comfortable and had little touches that we appreciated, like bottles of water, toiletries etc and even had air con. The bathroom was very clean and modern. Breakfast is served in the dining room and was absolutely delicious with exceptional presentation. We cannot recommend this place enough.

On our way back home through France after visiting our son in the uk, we had to make a last minute change of plan as to where we were going to stay. We booked ……at the last minute. You know when you quickly book something at the last minute and then discover you have found the most amazing place but…… you don’t really want to tell anyone else as you don’t want it to get spoilt! Well this was one of those places! The house was oozing with french character and charm. So clean, bright and well decorated. Wonderfully run by Armelle. There was not a thing that she had not thought of…… from the tea and coffee making facilities in the room to the just perfect breakfast. Having been very unwell in the uk, a night in this beautiful french maison really cheered me up. And surely we only managed to get a room because someone cancelled at the last minute - so glad they did! Thank you so much Armelle for sharing your beautiful little piece of french heaven and being such a wonderful host.- it was only for only one night but it was a most memorable one.

There was nothing we ‘didn’t like! 2 things to bear in mind: The staircase is steep, some agility is needed. When arriving in Blois make sure your ‘satnav’ doesn’t lead you a a steep very narrow roadway. Plan your route carefully!

Last minute booking, so there was a limited choice available for our needs. The accommodation is situated beside Blois cathedral, although slightly awkward to find, even using GPS, which can be daunting through many narrow streets. Parking was available in the cathedral carpark, and required payment after certain hours. Our room was accessed by climbing up several staircases, to a top floor room. The bedroom was of a loft nature, with a very low-level main door. It was a very clean and comfortable room, though small. Continental breakfast was included in the price, A reasonable location for exploring Blois.

The staircase climb to access the loft bedroom Breakfast wasn't as good as expected. Too much clutter and unknown, dried food items on the shared table.

The Au 16 exceeded all expectations! It is a beautiful restored home (see pics) that is very close to town center. The hostess was very accommodating from extending our stay to awaking early for our departure. The breakfast was plentiful and served on beautiful dinnerware that made us feel highly regarded. Perfect place for rejuvenation following a busy day of exploring Blois.

Only complaint is poor internet connection (non-existing) in the room where we stayed. There's absolutely nothing else to add. Au 16 is a beautiful home and we highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.

Great situation opposite the cathedral overlooking the old town. Very tasteful refurbishment of the facade. Inside is full of character with antique furniture and lovely family photos. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. Armelle was charming and very flexible about early breakfasts, which were delicious, with homemade jams and yoghurt. Birdwatchers might like to know that they have Black Redstarts on the roof!

We stayed for one night in our recent tour of France, and I have to say that we had a lovely top floor room and the hotel is in a beautiful location. However the best surprise was the tastefully decorate sitting room in a French country style, and adjacent breakfast room. A bit like visiting French Heaven. We have written no other reviews for our “tour” as this is not normally our style, but thought Au 16 Place St. Louis worthy of a positive write up.

the room was beautiful and very clean and well furnished. The house sits atop of city with great views. Bring your walking shoes. Breakfast was good. The recommendation to restaurant was one of the best we had while in France L’Orange.

checkin was late @ 5:30PM, but it worked out well. parking lot directly in front so late check in was fine.

This very charming house is full of details and offers a unique experience. Armelle warmly welcomed me and made me feel comfortable. It offers intimacy and is perfectly located in Blois. I appreciated the pieces of advice regarding restaurants and things to see.
