The hotel was large and very pleasant, with a terrace, bar and at the back a breakfast room. The public car park at the front had about eight parking spaces at the side of the hotel reserved for residents. The decor was largely grey, black and white. We had a family room, which was all that was available when we booked. It consisted of two bedrooms, a separate toilet between them and a bathroom off one of the bedrooms. Breakfast at the hotel was 12 euros, with tea/coffee, juice, cereals, bread/pastries and preserves, eggs, charcuterie, cheese, yogurt and fruit.

Sadly, there were tiny chips out of the dark grey woodwork, everywhere. The toilet in the room was tiny, very narrow and only about 40cm from door to pan, with no extractor fan. The head-height shower fitting was loose so that the head could not be put in it. Although it took us only a minute to screw this back together, we shouldn’t have had to do this - the issue should have been picked up by cleaners, reported by them and sorted. The lights had no, or only wire, shades and were much too bright/harsh. A kettle and a small fridge (as we had in other hotels) would have been good.

What a find! A beautiful, period house in the heart of Brive-la-Gaillarde converted into a comfortable little hotel with a great terrace for people watching and consuming ice-cream! But the main reason for going there is Juliette, receptionist, barmaid, fount of knowledge and facilitator. We all voted Juliette a Gold Star for her professionalism, enthusiasm and determination to make our stay just as enjoyable as she could. The hotel is so typical of France, slightly frayed but trying hard to meet expectations. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the water hot and plentiful but super smart, spacious and trendy they were not. It filled the bill perfectly as we were just passing through.

The location is outstanding, quite central really. Further, there is a number of restaurants close by, both the "fancy" sort and the more informal sort. The ladies in the reception were really kind (one of them pointed me to the restaurants, and the other told me where to find sandwiches for the long way home). Finally they have places where you can park by the hotel; I was there both on the way out and on the way back and I had a place for my car both times. Not tiny places by the way. All told, a very nice place I'm likely to visit again

Nothing to dislike really. I would have appreciated a lift (I did carry heavy things). But as I said before, nothing to dislike and I will indeed return.

1. BreakfastIt was great! So many choices. Breads were wonderful. Fruit, yogurt, juices, all fresh and delicious. 2. Hosts greatly helped in taxi arrangements, before, after arrival. Attentive and personable. 3. Highly recommend for location, the staff.

We are older. My husband used the tub/ shower, which is quite high to get into. He warned me that the tub was slick for standing.

Location is perfect with parking which is a bonus. The welcome is so friendly and the team couldn't be more helpful. Our room had a very comfortable bed, plenty of space and a wonderful bathroom and shower. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Would have loved to have stayed longer, enjoyed the bar and ice cream but we were in transit. Perfect

Lovely lady on reception when we checked in, very welcoming. Nice room, although as we are tall we kept having to stoop to get out of bed as the ceiling slopes. Lovely comfy bed with lots of pillows and quality linens. Very central location to where we needed to be, easy walking to restaurants and the Centre Historique, lovely gourmet market right next door.

Noisy aircon unit outside running all night made it difficult to sleep with window open. Also noise from other guests during the night. I agree with other commentators that the shower is quite narrow and, as is often the case, the bracket holding the smaller shower head is broken. Bathroom shelf needs levelling.

Excellent location, easy access to city centre directly opposite hotel. Easy walking. Free car park with around six spaces.

Small room and shower cubicle, this is normal in older buildings in France. No elevator, climbed stairs with suitcases although the man on reception assisted us.

A very good place to stay & explore Brive-la-Gaillarde. Close to shops, restaurants, bars & the market square. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was well furnished & the bed very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good.

We stayed at the weekend in a room at the front of the hotel & the noise from bars & restaurants opposite was quite loud. On request, however, the owner moved us to a quiet room at the back of the hotel

Central location. Good car parking. Very good breakfast. Large family suite, modernised that was warm, comfortable and clean. Helpful, friendly staff.

Only 1 electric socket in room for plugging in devices. No kettle/tea coffee facility in room. Broken overhead light. Half a toilet roll!!
