Lovely lady owner, she was really helpful and went beyond the expectations. The breakfast was:freshly squeezed orange juice (that I loved), nice bread and croissants, butter, jams, yoghurts, and fruits so tipical sweet french breakfast. Many animals. Swimming pool. We could use a seperate kitchen. Nice to relax, villa was quiet and with picturesque view.

You have to have a car to get there...there is no shops near enough to walk. You can get to the sea only by car.

Everything there was nothing you could fault. Facilities excelled expectations. Quite beautiful views and close to amenities so delivered everything you could ask for.

There was nothing to dislike.

The place is rather unique as far as tourist accommodations go. It is a historic villa hiding within a pine-forest. A pleasant couple lives there, surrounded by animals (dogs, ponies, turtles, a parrot, a horse, maybe more that I missed). By staying in one of their guestrooms, you actually get a brief glimpse into their life. As living in a historic villa in a forest next to the French coast is not a thing I ever experienced or even considered as something "people do" before, this glimpse alone was a memorable, exciting experience in its own right - an unexpectedly pleasant diversion from what I would expect from a typical hotel stay. The villa has a nice pool (that is surprisingly deep and even has a diving board). The animals around are probably a plus if you come with kids. You can use a kitchen and a terrace if you want to make your own lunches or dinners (otherwise you'd have to drive to Marseilles (~25m) or one of the nearby coastal towns (<15m) to find a restaurant).

There's not much to complain, just some things that are worth being aware of: - You probably cannot realistically reach the place without a car. - The room that we stayed in was in the attic and if you are tall (approaching 2m, say), you might find the ceiling uncomfortably low. The toilet with a glass door positioned directly opposite to the bed felt kind-of weird. There is no elevator in the building, so you will need to carry luggage along the old-school, somewhat narrow stairs. I believe there were guestrooms elsewhere as well, so I suspect the non-attic one(s) are slightly nicer, if you can choose (even there, however, if you have special accessibility needs that prevent you from using stairs, the place is not for you). - The location of the property both on Booking.com and Google maps is pinned to a point that is not next to the gate that you actually need to drive towards. Your navigator software may thus lead you onto a wrong street and have you feeling lost and confused. I believe this is something the hosts could try to fix (by moving the pinned location to the entrance gate rather than wherever it is now).
