Communication with the host was prompt and clear. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and were given all the information we needed. Dominique, the host, was genuinely friendly. He answered any queries and did everything to make sure that we and other guests were comfortable. The accommodation has a quirky, old-world charm and is in a quiet location close to Grandcamp-Maisy. It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Our room was spacious, airy and had a rustic charm. The continental breakfast was excellent! Fresh bread and pastries were provided, as were ham, cheese, a selection of jams, yoghurt, fruit juice and coffee, tea or hot chocolate. All very tasty!

The Wifi signal in our bedroom could have been stronger.

I highly rated our experience at La Faisanderie although we ended up staying at another place. Following a reservation system snafu, our room ended up being double booked. Our host was very up front about it and had the situation resolved before we got there and had found us another place to stay which was wonderful and although more expensive we were not charged the difference. As for La Faisanderie we only got to see the outside and the main room inside, it looks absolutely lovely. How some one solves a problem for a client is very telling of the level of service one can expect and this unfortunate situation was brilliantly and smoothly solved.

Our host Dominique and his furry friend Elliott were absolutely fantastic. We felt so welcome right from the start and Dominique was very accommodating on the arrival/check out time. The room was perfect for my partner and I and our two cats. It had a rustic charm to it and we were absolutely in love with the building, in particular the fireplace. Not to mention the bed, so comfortable. Dominique provided a vegetarian and vegan breakfast for us with plenty of choices, which was delicious. We were very grateful for such a lovely host that went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome. Thank you Dominique and Elliott!

La Faisanderie is quaint and absolutely beautiful! The home is 220 years old and well cared for. We were traveling with our adult son, so we stayed in the two room suite. Very comfortable! Dominique, the owner and host was fantastic! Although he didn’t speak English very well, nor did we speak French, but our Translate app worked fantastic! Our breakfasts were were so good, and a perfect way to start our day! we stayed two nights as we explored Normandie and then headed to Paris. We wished we had stayed a third night and only one night in Paris. 

we loved everything about this property and would recommend it and stay again! 

This was a beautiful house and location. We loved everything about this experience. The owner was extremely kind and made us feel at home. Even though my French is very limited and his English was pretty limited we managed to communicate just fine and he gave us some good suggestions for places to visit in the area. Breakfast was very good as well with croissants, bread, jam, coffee, orange juice, ham and cheese. I can't say enough about how welcome we felt and how enjoyable our visit was.

Far better than i expected, a lovely old chateau with in its own grounds and massive bedroom. i felt quite privileged to be able to stay here to be honest. the host were extremely friendly and spoke little English but we all managed to communicate very well. The continental breakfast was excellent. we had a full run of the chateau with all its rooms. I would go back in a shot so would strongly recommend a stay here.

What an amazing experience. Dominique our host went far out of his way to assist us. He did not speak any English, but was very patient with us. Our room was spacious, comfortable and charming. The grounds were beautiful.

Absolute nothing negative to say about La Faisanderie, but a few notes for novice travelers (like us): Don't count on Uber working in this part of France. Send a text to https://grandcampmaisytaxi.com/ for an excellent taxi service. The wifi in the hotel did not work well.

Dominique was really attentive throughout our stay. He made us feel so welcome, we couldn't find somewhere to eat on the first evening as all the local restaurants were fully booked so he gave us some food for our evening meal. He showed us new areas to visit and as I had bought some plants, he provided somewhere cool for them to be stored. There is a fridge that guests can use to keep their holiday drinks cool, and provided a kettle so we could make additional drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

The WiFi connection kept dropping out so we had to rely on our 4g but then this was France!!

Amazing place in great location with some good restaurants nearby. It was perfectly placed for getting to Omaha beach and D-day museums as well. Our host Dominic was great. He didn't speak much English, but we got by just fine with Google translate. Room was lovely and whole place was just beautiful. It's an old farm and horses are bred there. Was lovely to walk grounds and see the horses. Oh and breakfast was great. Will go back again for sure.

Refreshingly different from staying in the usual stereotype hotels. Our host was welcoming and attentive. The old style French farmhouse was an interesting mixture of old and new and set in beautiful surroundings. A comfortable bed, excellent continental breakfast served in our own dining room, great value for money. Couldn't have asked for more. Convenient to the Normandy beach heads and associated Museums etc. We will stay again.
