The room in the separate part of the complex was exceptionally large and well equipped and the complex brick vaulting was stunning. Breakfast in the château was very good and we had an excellent meal in the Vaso restaurant - a bit pricey but good.

It would have been helpful to have a sign of some sort at the door to the Metairie reception directing guests to the Château reception - and maybe a map. We know the complex well but it might have been more difficult for a newcomer.

great place to break the journey down to the alps. There is the choice between the Best Western , there superior rooms which you can park directly outside of are the best. There is also the chateau where the rooms are as you’d expect from a chateau very old fashioned & ornately decorated, However the bathrooms are modern and seem new. The chateau has a very nice gourmet restaurant, and the are two further restaurants to choose from next to the Best Western. both are very good normally. but sadly on this stay, we had very poor service in the Vasco de Gama restaurant, that was apparently because they were very short staffed. we had had many pleasant Experian es there over the years, so we won’t let that put us off, everyone can have a bad day at the office! Overall it a high quality place to stay with secure parking, a great place to unwind after a long drive.

We have stayed here many times before or after crossing the channel. The location and whole setting are perfect. Rooms are great, especially the one we get given because of the dog. The food in the Vasco restaurant was SO much better than in the past. Maybe they have a new chef, and their red wine is always exceptional.

All good. I do sometimes think they need a grab handle for when you step in or out of the bath. It’s a bit step and a bit hazardous.

The hotel was relatively easy to find - next to another hotel and a restaurant. We arrived quite late but there was a friendly person on reception. We were given advice on where to eat and have a drink. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom clean (shower was good). The chateau hotel next-door had a very nice bar and there was a really good restaurant in between the hotels (which has really popular with the locals it would appear). We didn't have breakfast as we left early - so can't comment on that. However, overall, the hotel was very handy for anyone using the motorway from (or to) Calais. I would recommend.

It was good

Great semi-rural location near to the motorway so perfect for stopovers to or from Calais- which is about an hour away. We had a Queen room which had lovely brick ceilings and was very spacious. These rooms are in the converted outbuilding of the chateau and you can park right outside your room. There are two restaurants on site located between the two hotels and we had a good meal in Vasco- the most informal. Breakfast (extra charge) was very good. The walled kitchen garden of the adjoining Chateau hotel is worth looking around. We arrived after midnight by breakdown truck and the staff were all super helpful lending us adapters, then allowing us to book an additional night while we waited for the car to be recovered. We were also able to walk 30mins to a retail park where there is a decathlon and a bakery. We will definitely be back.

Wifi was very patchy across the site- they had been having problems with a new router - and mobile phone reception was also poor. Poor signage plus its location map sends you to the chateau hotel reception- turn left for Best Western when you get to the end of the road/archway saying Vasco, not right !

Convenient stop for our journey. Lovely and clean. Cool in the hot weather. Plenty of Parking close to our room. Restaurant very close by. Good food and very good value for money. We will definitely stay again.

Ear plugs were supplied in our room. They were needed if you wanted an early night due to restaurant noise and deliveries in the early morning. Earplugs worked for me. My husband didn’t use them and was woken up.

The hotel forms part of a converted farm complex that contains three restaurants and a small Chateau. The restaurant are the Verso, the Distillery, and the Chateau itself which also has some bedrooms. The restaurants vary in cost from the ‘Normal’ to the gourmet all excellent meals in convivial settings. The hotel is very good value with good sized rooms, each with its own air conditioning, large bathrooms and lashings of how water. Highly recommended and can’t wait to revisit.

Couldn’t stay longer!

The location was superb. Probably one of the best places we have stayed in France. Beautiful Chateau and amazing gardens, both formal decorative and vegetable. Restaurant was very good and open until 10pm. This was a last minute find for us and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

We were not sure where to check in. All of this is done at the Chateau.

Great location close to the motorway and beautiful buildings and gardens. We stay here every year on our way north and south and its always a pleasure. We have a room where we can have our dog with us and it is lovely and spacious

We now always eat in the Distillerie as the menu in the Vasco is not very inspiring and doesn't seem to change much. Even the Distillerie menu remains rather static as well.

The hotel is in a great location about an hour from the port of Calais. It is adjacent to the more upmarket Hotel La Chatreuse du Val Saint Espirit and you share some of the facilities with them. Check-in and breakfast are in the chateau and the restaurant, for dinner, was in the chateau out-buildings. Dinner and breakfast were exceptionally good and we enjoyed a stroll around the gorgeous gardens in the evening. Our hotel room was spacious, with good views of the gardens. I was a little shabby - possibly due a refurbishment or maybe it was just comparing it with the splendour of the chateau!

It was difficult to find the hotel. Sat Nav tried to take us down a dirt track. Checking in was a challenge too. After finally locating the Best Western entrance we were directed to the adjacent hotel/chateau. All very minor really but it felt too much after a long drive. I struggled with the shower over the bath. It was quite a challenge to get in and out - it would be very difficult for someone with mobility issues. Worth asking for a walk-in shower next time.
