La Chartreuse is an interesting mix of lovely chateau and adjoining events spaces, just off the autoroute towards Calais. Many of the rooms are newly redecorated in the same vein as the original, and they are very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms have both shower and bath, a real luxury! There are three restaurants on the estate offering different levels of dining but all with very good dishes - our favourite is La Vasco with a 'club-like' decor on the first floor. The gardens are (or were, they have had a dreadful winter and the potager is in a mess) a delight to walk around. There is to be a spa soon, and a swimming pool is planned in the future. Parking is off-road and extensive.

I was travelling back from the alps with two dogs. I have stopped here a few times before on the same journey. They were as always exceptional. I have two big dogs (Hungarian viszlas) and they accommodated them beautifully. restaurant was great and an amazing outside space where my two boys could run around. I would like to think my boys are very well adjusted and well behaved so not a huge high light for the hotel but even so I loved their attitude towards dogs being all access and well accepted. Beyond that it is a lovely and reasonably priced place to stay near the tunnel for a great night and an event of an evening rather. than just somewhere to crash in transit.

Large room with two windows overlooking grounds. Exceptional shower with all soaps and towels, dressing gowns. Two restaurants serving excellent food with good selection and good service. Would have been nice to have an electric kettle to make tea and coffee. Grass well cut in expansive garden with tables and chairs to sit outside with staff serving if required. Disappointed that the vegetable garden had not been kept with no vegetables growing. Most of the Box bushes had been decimated with the blight. Mature fruit trees in abundance. Worth walking around to see what could be done if there were permanent gardeners in attendance. Tennis court had not been swept for months/years. Nice lake. However, this would not put us off from returning again due to the helpful, friendly staff, good food and the historical building with its oil paintings and tapestries hanging on the walls. Free parking in abundance on site. A quiet and peaceful place to stay surrounded by country. Spa was not open but there appears that new owners have only just taken over. and work is in progress. Read the history of the place!

Nothing to complain about.

The Château is is extremely imposing and beautifully appointed. The dining room was very impressive and left a perfect impression. Our server was superb and made dinner a greater pleasure. The dinner itself was of the highest standard we experienced in France. The grounds were vast and beautifully kept. The whole place was a credit to the owners and operators. Having electric car charging made it as close to perfect for a luxury stay at a reasonable price you can get. The location makes it a very good first or last night before or after Calais and a return to England.

The room was not quite as sumptuous as I was expecting but it was a very good size with a well appointed bathroom

We have stayed at La Chartreuse several times as it is extremely convenient for our route from the UK to Italy. The hotel is always welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the dinners - we have eaten in all three restaurants at different times - are excellent. Our dinner in Lo Vasco was exceptional, well-thought-out dishes that were well prepared and presented. Breakfast is good and my husband was offered freshly-cooked eggs to order, much better than something left over a warming dish! Plenty of parking and a beautiful potager to walk around and admire.

Very , Very nice Historical Building perfectly rehabilitated and with a 5 Stars Restaurant !!! Amazing building with more the 4 centuries of history, perfectly restaured and with a very professional and nice staff. The Restaurant is amazing, just amazing. The breakfast is using a lot of local products. Last but not the list, very environemental friendly policies without agression or green radicalism, really apreciated that. Merci

The weather but ok not controleed by the Hotel management.

The hotel is beautiful and we really liked how it was furnished. Our dog was with us and we really appreciated there was a garden she could play in and the fact that everything was dog friendly including the restaurant. Our room was really nice and confortable. Our meal at the restaurant was really nice too. The staff was really nice and friendly.

Breakfast was too expensive for what was offered. They had a menu for eggs but nothing was mentioned about it and only presented to us because we asked about it which I thought was a bit dishonest knowing the price was 20£ per person.

Fabulous hotel, close to Bethune about 45 minutes from Le Shuttle. Beautiful surroundings and grounds with a lovely garden to walk round. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained with plenty of original features. The room was comfortable and spacious with modern facilities in a traditional setting. There are 3 restaurants on site and dinner was enjoyable and 'French'.

There was little to complain about in this lovely hotel. The restaurant we went to was quiet even though it was a Saturday night so that might won thing to bear in mind.

The hotel is really easy to find and is in a very quiet neighbourhood. There is plenty of secure parking and the entrance is attractive and impressive. Staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The room was quite grand with lovely furnishing - in an old chateau style. We used the restaurant on site (Le Robert II) and this was extremely good. The wine list was exceptional and the food beautifully presented and delicious.

Grounds would be impressive in summer - I'm sure - but were a bit sorry looking in spring.

Beautiful hotel and room very comfortable.

Would have been nice to have complimentary water and tea and coffee maker in room. The restaurant facilities were limited when we stayed - 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed. The restaurant 'La Distillerie' which was open, served good food but the decor and atmosphere didn't match the standard of the hotel. Probably perfect for a business traveller but we had hoped to dine somewhere better.
