Had an unexpectedly fantastic stay at Rookie mountain. I booked an ad hoc last minute short, budget stay for myself and my son. For the money I wasn’t expecting a perfect location, very friendly staff, and a great inclusive breakfast .

It’s nearly perfect for the money, the Hotel is right by the slopes. To be super critical, the bath tub is about 4ft long, doubles up a shower, and has no shower curtain, so the bathroom becomes bit of a wet room, that a side, the rooms are warm, clean and cosy.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel I have to following our recent stay in this fantastic no-frills B&B hotel. Located right by Le Rosay and La Joyere gondolas, it gives easy access to the mountain and you can ski back almost to the door. Buses to La Clusaz stop opposite the hotel if you want a larger ski area. Although our bedroom was compact, it was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. You can spread out in the guest lounge which has an open fire and you can be served drinks and snacks bought from the window. There is also a ski locker for each room. And, of course, the great breakfast.

I have no complaints whatsoever, but I'd have given ten stars if the coffee machine was available for an apres-ski coffee or hot chocolate.

The location was amazing: very very close to the ski lift and to 2 ski rental shops, and yet no more than 10min walk to the village center with other shops and restaurants. They had a ski locker at no extra fees. They packed our breakfast on the last day so we could have it despite leaving super early. The staff is super nice in general, including the staff of the snack bar. We ordered food from the snack below, and they delivered it to the hotel's living room, and they also added wood to the fire so we would be cosy. Honestly very nice people.

The ski lockers area is not very convenient to use. It's very tight, and there are a couple stairs to go down. Also the light is timed and the timer is short, and the door auto-closes rather quickly, so we often end up in the darkness if we take too long to take our equipment or put on ski shoes. The rooms are not very sound proof. This wasn't a big problem, though, as we woke up early to go skiing. The bathtub in our room was pretty small, more like shower-sized. We couldn't lie down in it after the ski day (you could if you're really flexible, but I'm not sure it would be comfortable).

The hotel has superb location just a few footsteps to 2 ski lifts. During the daytime, the area around the hotel can be busy, but it is really calm once the ski lifts are closed. Total tranquility, no noise during the night. Our double room was enough spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had all basic amenities. We used the hotel parking and the lockers in the basement of the hotel for ski storage - both free of charge. The breakfast at the hotel was a good quality continental breakfast with fresh pastry, choice of yogurts and fruit.

We had a good stay. Hotel is spotless, and the staff (when you can find one) were very helpful and attentive. Breakfasts were good with a choice of cereals, fruit juices, plenty of croissant, pain au chocolat, breads, fruit, yogurt. Breakfast from 7:30 until after 10:00. Rooms were quiet, warm, spotlessly clean but compact. Bedding looked new, clean and modern, with a good duvet and additional blankets were provided if needed (not needed - very warm)

The shower arrangements were disappointing - just a shower head attached to the taps. This was mounted low, so you had to hold the shower head with one had to have a shower standing up. It would not be difficult to have a high-up mounting for the head. There was plenty of hot water however. Also, the towels were a little small and thin.
