Beautiful hotel set in stunning surroundings. we had a very warm welcome and we’re delighted with our room that looked out over the pool and chateau. Tastefully decorated and with a very comfortable bed. A Substantial breakfast was served in the morning and we made the most of a late checkout to relax. we were also allowed to leave our car in the car park while we wandered in the village with our dog. A lovely stay and will definitely come back.

The historic nature of the village/town and of the hotel itself was lovely. Having a drink on the patio in the evening light overlooking the adjacent historic buildings was very pleasant. The Breakfast was ok and there was on-site, free parking.

There was no restaurant in the evening although reception was able to give choices of restaurants in the town and booked one for us that was very good.

Pool was closed. However, the weather wasn't hot, so its unlikely that I would use the pool. Room was OK, a bit outdated but good. Breakfast was excellent. Probably, the best breakfast we've had for our 10 day trip.

Separate toilet without wash basin, in the room that was not inline with the bathroom.

Splendid location next to the castle and riverside restaurant. Pool area generous and just what you need after a long drive. Hotel rooms typically old France style, big, a bit antiquated if you prefer modern, but with so much charme. Big breakfast area, inside and outside. Close to Saumur with plenty of options to enjoy the Loire area.

What a beautiful place to stay. Lovely helpful staff, very friendly. The view from the pool of the castle. It felt very personal. Breakfast was continental but plenty to eat and also had a wonderful egg boiler , great idea .

The beds could do with a mattress topper. We were there during the heatwave so air-conditioning would have been great but a fan was waiting in our room and there was a good breeze during the night with the windows open.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious with bath and hand held shower. Pool and grounds around hotel were excellent. Choice of breakfast items was very good and it was lovely to sit out on the terrace.

The coffee was very disappointing and not what we would have expected in France. It lacked flavour and was only lukewarm. The hotel provided a convenient stop over en route to ferry at Ouisterham.

This was our 4th stay here over a period of 20 years, it has only improved over this time. WE will be back again in the future. Staff were all very helpfull

Tourist Tax!! There was only one resturant open and everything else in the town, bars etc were shut. Why cant I use spell check on this form even though it tells me I have made an error

This is a wonderfully situated hotel in the little town of Montreuil-Bellay not far from Saumur. It's adjacent to the beautiful castle which we visited, has its own wine sold on the premises. From the huge courtyard you enter the various rooms which are open to the public as this castle is still owned and occupied by a family. But back to the hotel which is a gem, lovely gardens, a bar for drinks in the evening, a lovely lady who may be the owner always with a smile at the reception or serving the drinks. There isn't a restaurant but there are a few in town, we just went to the nearest one around the corner, excellent food at reasonable prices. We liked this hotel so much we stayed 4 nights instead of 2 as planned, there is so much to see in the area. I chose this town as its central to several tourist attractions like Fontevraud Abbey, the cave dwellings museum at Doué-en-Anjou and the attractive town of Saumur.

Everything was very satisfactory but I would have liked a choice of breads for breakfast, there was only 1 type which I found a bit hard. Also perhaps plain cereals, there were just the sweet ones for kids. Otherwise breakfast is good, help yourself to as much coffee and tea as you want and most enjoyable to sit out on the terrace that adjoins the dining room.

We have always loved this hotel, for it's peaceful location, view over the chateau, it's comfortable rooms and in summer, the outdoor pool and garden. The breakfast these is also very good. The secure parking is a huge bonus for us, as is the friendly owner..and staff.

Unfortunately the shower head in our bathroom didn't work well at all. It was supposed to be a superior room. No English speaking TV channels is a normal problem for us in hotels in France. Even a news channel in English would be appreciated. A kettle with tea/coffee in the room would also be nice.

The hotel manager was exceptional. She was super welcoming and very attentive. She helped us find a last minute restaurant reservation on a busy Saturday night. The extérieur pool was great and the water was warm (heated at 82 F). And we did appreciate the spa ( sauna , hamman)
