I was worried when I booked, that this chateau might be a little run down and somewhat cold, given it was almost December when we stayed there. But I'm happy to say that we found the place very cosy and welcoming. We had a car and soon found that driving to Auchan at Baggersee to park and then taking the tram into Strasbourg was the best option, clearly many people do this. There is an excellent seafood restaurant (Le Percheron) nearby.

Getting to and from the property by car involves quite a big detour due to there not being a bridge across the river and sometimes this can be quite heavy with traffic. We went to the in-house restaurant on our first night but the cuisine (and decor) was a bit too Alsacien for our taste.

Beautiful place to stay. Big comfortable bed. In midst of nature and close to Strasbourg (15 minutes drive or 20 minutes cycling). Nice and authentic place to have dinner there. Breakfast included was very good one. Friendly staff. Nice bar with pool and table tennis too.

Know that it’s authentic and therefore outdated, airco/fan system was not working properly. However we received a mobile fan to improve the experience. Given location of nature and waterlines, you can expect the hungry mosquitoes.

In planning to go see the Strasbourg Christmas markets, we begin booking a little late, but we’re surprised to find a room at the château at a reasonable price. We booked and we were not disappointed. The château itself is stunning, a real treat for the eyes. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We especially liked the view that we had of the woods and river behind the Château through the large glass, double door. The bed was very comfortable, as well as the chairs at the sitting table. The bathroom is quite large, and we appreciated that there was a separate tub and shower. The staff was friendly and helpful, answering questions about public transportation, etc. Finally, the pool and hot tub were perfect and a great way to start the morning.

We were extremely surprised to see Euro-sized mold spots near the bottom of the shower. Well, the property that the château was located on was beautiful property on a river, it was a good 15+ minute walk to the Tramway.

We loved our stay at Château de I’ile!!! We are a young couple in our 30’s from the USA and have nothing but wonderful memories from our stay. The property was beautiful and clean. The decor illuminated the charm of the château and welcomes relaxation. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating, and did well with our limited speaking of French. We enjoyed having an aperitif on the deck overlooking the grounds and spring was the perfect time to visit with the flowers in bloom. We received massages while we were there and they we great and relaxing! The town was peaceful and cute and an easy taxi or bus ride from Strasbourg. We hope to return someday!

that we didn’t stay longer than one night!

The hotel, the staff, the food, the rooms, the pool…all of it was outstanding. I wish we had been able to stay longer! The staff was professional, and also kind to our children, including small gift bags for them. The spa was steadily busy and the restaurant provided an excellent meal. I wish we would have had time to walk the grounds and to play a game of pool.

This is not a complaint, but families will probably want to know, children are allowed to swim between the hours of 10:00-18:00.

Amazing location and beautiful interior. A cozy hotel with nice staff, rich breakfast, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bar served good cremant and local snacks.

There were many mosquitos due to the location at the river but the room was equipped with mosquito repellent. Sauna and hammam were nice only the rest room was warm too, so not easy to cool down, but all in all still relaxing.

Although rooms were disappointing for 5^ hotel, they were decorated warmly, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was great, and the location near the eiver is wonderful and relaxing. Apart from the room error, all staff members were very friendly and helpful

We booked and were supposed to get 2 rooms facing the river, but only 1 out of the 2 rooms was in this category. Rooms were disappointing for 5* hotel.

Unique, nice pool area. Kids space was great.

First room on highest floor was old and very dingy-musty odor and peeling wallpaper, stained linens. We were moved to a nicer suite but only after paying significant additional fee (hotel was full). This was frustrating as the first room was so poor that we may have left otherwise. Our other family members had a room on the first floor that was very nice, newer, and cleaner with proper ventilation.

The hotel feels like a real chateau! Beautiful gardens and the parking inside is handy and safe. The rooms, though, feel old but in good shape. The view from the balcony felt super relaxing. The location was great too nothing is beyond 15min drive max

The reception staff could be friendlier. They felt robotic in a way.
