I really enjoyed my stay at hôtel Darcet. It is a good hotel for travellers seeking rooms at an affordable price and in a good location unless they are interested in amenities. The room was comfortable for 1 person (even for 2 provided they get along in a medium-sized room). The size of the bathroom was OK. Soap was provided by the hotel. The room was clean and the staff entered the room on a daily basis to tidy up and throw trash away. The bed was comfortable. The room also included a medium window, without good view however, but much light entered the room. The hotel staff was nice, friendly and helpful. When I asked for a cab to the airport, they arranged one with a professional driver. The reception is open all day and an employee guards the hotel door. Moreover, a small garden is available for clients to sit as well as a medium-sized room with tables, where coffee is offered for free (decent coffee machine). The location is very central, close to 2 metro lines (100 metres). The historical center of Paris can be reached at approximately 15-30 minutes depending on where you are going (Eiffel 20-25 minutes, Latin Quarter 30 minutes, Arts-et-Metier 15-20 minutes, CDG 60-80 minutes). Nearby the hotel there are various bars/restaurants and people out until late, therefore I felt safe in this area. Note that the hotel is near Pigalle (10 min walking). This may disturb conservative people. However, I enjoyed this interesting side of Paris and the area also seemed safe. P.S. I think that the photographs in Booking terribly underestimate the hotel. In Booking, the hotel looks old and ugly. The only reason I booked it was because of the affordable price and the good reviews. However, I was surprised to see a rather modern and very beautiful hotel. Indicatively, Google Maps includes several photos contributed by clients that are more representive of the hotel. I highly suggest that the hotel manager put more effort on improving the photos in Booking.

I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. In particular 1) I have appreciated that on my arrival, at 10 am, after a long bus trip, I could enter my room! It's the first time that I could enter the room with so large advance with respect to check-in time 2) The hotel provides a shared room with a free machine for hot drinks (coffe, milk, etc); you can buy sweets at the boulangerie in front of the hotel. 3) The hotel is in a quiet street close to Montparnasse. Nearby there are lots of shops, a metro station and other bus stops. During my stay (end of June), I mainly used Lime shared bikes. With respect to public transportation, moving with electric bikes is faster and more funny (and more or less at the same cost). 4) The reception is open 24 hours; the staff is very kind. 5) My room was perfect, with independent and quiet AC

Nothing to point out. Perhaps the bathroom is a bit small, and also the room is not very large, but I suppose that this is the standard in Paris. Consider that you will not spend much time in the room, there are lots of things to do in Paris. Also Wifi should be improved, the signal is not stable.

Clean, like really clean - more than expected (No1 reason to come back) (although short and narrow) comfy beds, cotton linen, again clean and safe feel Proper shutters - pich black to sleep Easily accesible via various transportation, cute neighborhood, lots of shops and places to eat Great temp. and water pressure, big shower Easy and welcoming from the very (late, came at 1AM) start to end of the stay

Overall unexpectedly fantastic stay, but: Zero soundproofing - guests till late in the night coming/going/showering etc., staff from early on mornings chatting away Only window in a room opens to a sort of ultra mini inner courtyard, where guests and/or staff are smoking, not 24/7, but often enough you don't get any fresh air Came to a freezing cold room on 1st night, slept under 2 duvets, 1 radiator for the 3-bed room, never gets more than luke warm (maybe it is a season thing) Strong sewage smell in the room (easily toned down by putting the toilet lid down and closing the bathroom door) Just 1 place to put you things in the shower would be helpful

The room was no frills (as expected), but great for the price! The location is ideal to access the metro and the rooms are cleaned every day. What really stood out to me about the hotel was the staff. I really enjoyed my stay as a solo traveler and will book again!

I had to change rooms after my first night, likely due to the length of my booking and general logistics. I ended up liking my second room better as it was on the top floor and got great light through the window. The staff relocated my bags to the new room and made what could have been a big inconvenience fairly seamless.

The place is in a nice area. Not far from The Rue De Nord which suited us as we travelled by Eurostar. Just around the corner there is The Moulin Rouge and a little further is The Sacre Couer. As has been noted, the Place De Clichy is your nearest station and it’s worth planning your routes and making a note of the numbers of the stations where you will change. (The Paris Metro maps could be a lot clearer!) The hotel itself is fine. Not pretty but clean and tidy. The dining room is equipped with a good coffee machine and there is a lovely patisserie just over the road, (not open Mondays,) and a shop selling fruit, food and wine just around the corner (a one minute walk.) Across the main road is a supermarket which stays open quite late. There is always someone on reception 24/7 and you hand your key to them when you go out. They were always helpful and spoke good English. One thing to watch is the prices at some of the restaurants and bars. It is so easy just to have another glass in the great atmosphere. I overspent! Am I sorry? Not yet, but maybe tomorrow…! If anyone is reading this before September 2024, I would strongly advise them to visit the VR exhibition “a Night with the Impressionists,” at the Musee Dorsay by the way. A great experience.

I can’t really think of anything! I know some people will object to anything..”I couldn’t find anywhere that gave out free beer…moan moan…The hotel objected when I turned my karaoke machine on! …moan moan.” If you’re a party animal, go to Vegas or somewhere.

What a little gem! The hotel was really great value. Super clean and comfortable. Rooms are a reasonable size and well equipped. Very friendly and helpful staff. In a really great location, 16 minutes from Gare du Nord on the metro, close to restaurants, bars, supermarkets and cafes. There is a tea room downstairs with seating where you can get free tea and coffee, available all day. We would buy croissants from a local bakery and eat this in the tea room. The hotel is just off a lively street - but is very quiet. Very well connected for transport, with many buses and a metro station within a few minutes walk. Also walking distance from Monmartre Cemetery, Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a fairly central location with easy public transit options (although there was some roadwork due to the 2024 Olympics that limited some of the bus coverage). The mattresses were firm and comfortable. The room and bathroom were somewhat dated but functional and clean.

We were asked to leave the room key with the reception upon going out, which was fine but surprising. The pillows were very thin and not very comfortable. The elevator was tiny (it fit one normal-sized piece of rolling luggage and one person at a time) and access to it required you to go up a few steps on the ground floor, so it wouldn't be usable for someone unable to climb stairs.

I was absolutely thrilled with my experience at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was fantastic, with a bed so comfortable it felt like sleeping on air. I had a great night's sleep and the en-suite facilities, including a hot shower, were just what I needed. The room also had a large TV with English-speaking programs and films, which was a huge bonus for me since my French is not great. The night receptionist was charming and even gave me a complimentary bottle of water, which was much appreciated given the high temperatures and humidity. The air conditioning in the room worked perfectly, allowing me to stay cool and comfortable throughout the night. The balcony was a wonderful addition, providing a great spot to relax and take in the Parisian atmosphere and skyline. Overall, this hotel surpassed all my expectations. I would definitely stay here again. The value for the price is exceptional, and I'm grateful to the entire staff for making my stay so enjoyable.

No breakfast, but that was OK as they did mention that.

The room had balcony with street view and more than enough space to sit outside. Room has enough space and shower is great. Cleaning lady came every day to freshen up the linen and gave us new towels daily. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. Assisted us in booking shuttle to airport as well. They get to know you personally and interact with you in very friendly and professional manner. There is vending machine with beer, water and cold drinks. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine available whole day and you can drink as much you want. Very close to restaurants, grocery store and metro & bus access. Value for money!

Nothing! It is great place to stay. Everything was in order and of acceptable standard!
