The family suite was beautiful. Plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. Breakfast was superb – with freshly-made pancakes, French toast and locally-produced jams. And the sauna and heated outdoor pool were ideal amenities after a long drive from the coast. Oliver couldn't have been a more hospitable and gracious host. He recommended a fabulous restaurant and reserved a table for us on request. On the morning of our departure, he gave us many local insights and recommended we visit Baume-les-Messieurs before we departed the area. Glad we followed his advice. That's a particularly enchanting little town.

While the building was a classic country style, the bedroom was modern, light, and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had with freshly made brioche pain perdu (French toast), local Jura cheeses, baked goods, fruit, and more. The host, Olivier, is very welcoming, is a great cook, and his English is very good. Le49 is a great location to visit and experience the lovely Jura countryside.

This property is a delight! The location is great - a short drive from many major sights of the Jura (Chateau Chalon, Baume les Messieurs, the Herrisson waterfalls and more). Our room was spacious, airy, full of light, with a great view of the park. Excellent breakfast served indoors or outside near the pool. And best of all - the gracious, friendly and helpful host!

This is a beautiful property run by a lovely couple. The rooms are very large, well appointed and clean. The bathrooms are deluxe. The breakfast is expansive and wonderful and the service is attentive. The grounds are fantastic and although you'll probably stay in Domblans because its close to Chateau Chalon, the town of Domblans itself is also very nice. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful location with modern, quality facilities and very tastefully decorated. A lovely pool, large garden and very comfortable room. A delicious French breakfast efficiently served on the terrace with locally sourced cheese and ham, and home made preserves, brioche and cake. Very charming and friendly owners running a family business and keen to help with advice on areas to visit and restaurants to experience.

A small fridge in room would be helpful for summer travellers however there was a useful communal one.

Besides the house being an old mansion of the 17th century this place is absolutely wonderful. Located in the heart of the Jura, a magnificent stretch of natural reserve with unmatched beauty in every season, especially autumn with the beautiful orange/red hue, this place is downright amazing. The staff is made up of the two owners, a couple, who are hospitality guru's in heart and soul. They have carefully selected the products they serve at breakfast from local producers or they make it 'à la maison'! The bread, cakes and pastries are absolutely delicious. Besides the expertise, they are simply extremely friendly and amicable, perfect hosts. That said, they are even considering adding more facilities to their house. I cannot stress enough that this is an amazing place, I will most definitely return. We celebrated our friends 60th birthday and he was happy as could be. If you're even not sure what to do, don't worry, the hosts know everything and will set you up, you can go on a limb and just arrive.

Fantastic place to stay. We stayed with three small kids and it was superb. Room set up for families is a big plus, with two bedrooms in the one room. Breakfast was outstanding and the multitude of local produce was great to sample. The place and location are second to none, the memories of the children staying in a french chateau will live with them.

Very nice little hotel in the Jura where you will not find a lot of these boutique style hotels. Good decoration and an eye for details.
