The village itself is quaint. We loved the pool and lounger area of the hotel. There are 3 restaurants in the village (plus the village BAR, which is a MUST to experience). The local restaurants all close on a Wednesday, so we ate in the hotel, which was fine but not as good as being out in the village (in our opinion).

Breakfast was disappointing for the price they charge. We felt they could do much better. Personally I wouldn't bother paying extra for it. We were in a room with a terrace which was great but the bathroom was up about 3 or 4 steps, so take a torch with you for night-time loo trips!. The room is up 3 flights of stairs. Shower is in the bath. Not an issue for us but a problem if you have mobility issues and should be flagged up when booking I feel. No information about the hotel or the local area readily available. Staff were always professional but a bit remote, not overly 'warm' (except the evening waiting staff and the man who takes away the cars - they were friendly).

Felt closer to a 5* hotel :) Lovely pool area and how the hotel seamlessly integrates with an old village. Hotel also had pool drinks service, pool table and table football and a lovely courtyard. Room was spacious and good AC Breakfast was great both in choice and quality

Dinner options were limited (though we didn’t eat there, preferring to go to Uzes, Nimes and Avignon for more choice and a lovely walk around. YOU need a hire car if you stay here Minor moan that the staff wouldn’t let us have more than 1 towel each (get more if in short supply!)

Beautiful historic and secluded property in Castillon du Gard. Service was very professional yet warm and friendly which we loved. They had many repeat clients and we can see why. If we came to the area again, Le Vieux Castillon would be our first choice - highly recommended for a romantic few nights as a couple.

Our hot water wasn't working but they took prompt action to help us. They moved and upgraded our room in the end but the hot water service isn't great. The only other thing we didn't like is that you can smoke everywhere including at dinner when we were trying to enjoy a nice meal as a couple. It would be better if there were some designated smoking areas.

Great setting and the hotel has been beautifully restored. It’s calm and welcoming. The breakfast was ok but the evening meal was absolutely delicious and worthy of a Michelin star restaurant, we don’t often say that as we are vegetarian. The staff were very helpful. We had a great stay and would definitely rebook if we come back to this area.

Having to pay extra for breakfast.

very clean, friendly staff, great atmosphere

the poolside bar was outrageously expensive. 14 euros for a pint of beer is extortionate, 9 euros for a bottle of sparkling water is equally bad. Its such shame as it put a negative spin on our time by the pool. it seems like they are trying to rip off the tourists as they know there aren’t too many other options in the area

The hotel felt luxurious and in keeping with the medieval village. Great location for the village. Excellent pool with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for shade. Good size bedroom. Great views of the Provence countryside.

The shower is in the bath without a screen so easy to make the floor wet and dangerous. The lunch menu was more relaxed and they could offer a alternative in the evening to the a la carte dining experience.

The hotel is very beautiful and set in a picturesque village in a quiet location, perfect for relaxing and recharging. Had some lovely meals at Joio restaurant in the village. Had outstanding meals at the main restaurant in the hotel with amazing local produce. All staff were very helpful and attentive.

The quality of the water in the swimming pool deteriorated during our stay. Would be good if guests used the outdoor shower facility to rinse off before entering the pool. The restaurant opening times need to be made clearer. The main restaurant in the hotel was only open Wednesday to Sunday with the hotel’s other restaurant in the village also having limited opening/availability. It is important to make reservations for either restaurant at reception to avoid disappointment.

What a stunning conversion of a historical site to a hotel. Staff were very friendly and eager to help. Breakfast in the wonderful dining room and outside terrace overlooking the pool was great. The Spa looked great. We should have booked treatments ahead of our arrival as it was quite booked up for the weekend.

Thought we had booked a higher category room. The superior room just wasn’t as good or spacious as we had expected and because, when we looked at our booking.com confirmation it didn’t specify the category of room we had booked, we had no backup and better rooms were all booked. Our confirmation just said “1 room” and the price. We would definitely advise booking a deluxe room at least, or one with a balcony or terrace and do a screen shot of what you actually booked. The pool and surrounding was top notch and a great place to relax with a drink after a day of touring.

A hotel located in a medieval village with absolutely gorgeus views over the Provencal valley. Two beautiful towel swans greeted us in our room because of our honeymoon - special thanks for the staff! You could truly feel the Provence vibes at all of the public areas such us leafy patios, sunny breakfast area and serene swimming pool area. The location was also perfect for exploring Pont du Gard. Will definitely recommend this place.

We enjoyed a dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was tasty and made of good ingredients, but it felt like they tried a bit too much with the details of the dishes (aiming for the Michelin star?)

Lovely staff and location. The village is beautiful.

The Breakfast is really below average. Over priced and very corporate. I have eaten better in a 1 ⭐️ The restaurant is overpriced and pretentious.
